The new test server does have some bugs, including a few bad ones.  We are reporting the bugs and Gizmo is working on them as he can.

Overall, it seems to be working okay.

Perfect, I'm looking forward to logging in later. :) Hopefully this new server solution helps resolve the overall crashing issue in the longterm.

Maybe then a little "improvement" is nessessary  ;)    "Winners will be announced on 12th July 2020"

Thanks for spotting that! I've fixed it. :D

hello .... i have a question regarding the end date for the challenge. As there are a lot of crashes, often we can't build, like right now 1.40pm CET, impossible to connect to the server and many builders who connect during crash problems will waste a lot of time ... .

Due to the crashing issues we most likely will extend it by a couple of weeks just waiting to see when this new testing will begin.

Out of curiosity Ashbash, has any discussion occurred with the Gizmo and Lisa about making the winning scene some type of featured room open 24/7 for "X"  amount of time? To me, that is the most exciting part. The ability for anyone to visit it at anytime and enjoy it and have others enjoy it.

Sure, a Trophy on a shelf that gets dusty is great, but a delicious cake that wins a competition and never runs out for a long time that day after day can be enjoyed.... is even better.

It's what I'm trying to get moving, especially with the new server solution coming soon with protection of the rooms from hackers.

He was totally replying to you in this topic. You mentionned yourself as someone who could do great content for this game, so here it goes, show your talent to the dev, since they organize this event and maybe get the chance to be able to work and do content as you proposed.

And yes you can iggy me too :)

Well said Torax. This could help bring more creative people to light for the devs to potentially work with and bring more content of great quality faster. This would be a great improvement to the game as a whole!

I agree its a huge waste of time and very frustrating!

Would be cool if you could set up a specific section of your personal room for the editor like you can set the spawn location and then experiment with all the different lighting options. Rather than the fixed lighting, but this may cause too much strain perhaps.

I'm not interested in winning prizes, and this thread is not for you to seek competitors.  Stick to the topic, and don't reply back that your competition is to better the game, because it's obvious your competition is not.  I am putting you on my Ignore List.

Nice, a bit of an overreaction there with the ignore list, but that's fine.

In regards to the actual topic at hand. Communication from the developers is of course key to better the game, that would be a good start. As well as taking community requested content to be implemented.

One thing I do think in my opinion will better the game would be to bring in room ownership permissions, such as the ability to kick players from your room if they are stirring up a ruckus, but also to just give more control to the user for their own personal spaces. Also additional World Editor features such as perhaps a material editor which will allow you to change the multiply of the materials to give better tiling support for certain textures, to adjust the same materials for different sized surfaces to give a more authentic, higher quality design to your room designs.

My guess is, and idk why they haven't just outright said it, is they have some kind of network filtering going on. Network filtering is always clunky and annoying at best, because it's really hard to determine good traffic from bad. However, there are things they could be doing, like, whitelisting long time players, setting up queues where if the game hits a certain amount of players, the game doesn't crash, it just forces new people logging on into the queue, etc...

Depends on the DDoS filtering they have set up. And how it's set up. It may be that the server is being attacked more than once and the filtering just kicks into high gear just filtering out anything and everything, which would explain why everyone gets disconnected. Or the DDoS protection activates and it disconnects people temporarily. It would be nice to have more insight on this issue though.

All I can gather is the server itself is fine in terms of hardware specs. But their game software needs a lot of work. As it seems it's struggling with the larger population. As it always seems to happen around the time the US and EU timezones cross over with logins. Which makes me think the software just crashes and cannot handle the amount of population. Which makes me believe the developers of 3DX never expected the game to become this popular. I think the offer is what turned it on it's head. As we have not really had this problem before that only once in a blue moon. Which makes me think the population is too large for their software to handle. So hopefully they are working on some improvements to this.

@Lisa @Gizmo can you guys make a comment about this?

Hmm, servers again, how many times is that now. You would think they would have learnt and put in servers that would cater for expansion by now. Must be at least a dozen times I know of they have updated servers with each time taking much longer than anyone else does to do the same. Or maybe it has been all just one big project like many others that never seems to get done.

Server updates are always required, they do not give it near enough the amount of time as they should, probably a contributor to why the server stability has been bad as of late with the increase in population since the sale from March that cut the prices in half. Server improvements are always a thing. The past was always increasing the hardware to hold a better CPU, RAM and Storage. But now from what I gather, it is more a software issue now, compared to the hardware. So it is time for them to improve their software for the online. Hopefully they will bring in some additional features along with this that was requested in the past. One of which, being the ability to keep rooms open even if the host goes offline, or potentially room permissions. This should hopefully resolve any software bottlenecks they may be experiencing. But as with all things, we'll just have to see really.

I am sometimes amazed by the builders that are not known then by the ones that are known. The ones that are known were once unknown too until they created something many people remember and it stays with them. There are many builders entering and me, I love that something finally got people with amazing ideas to try. The primary thing that sets builders apart is not the quality but the idea behind the build. I encourage people to do their best. These best builds however will one day not be considered the best build for the builders since I hope they discover the fun in making an idea come to life and they will improve more and more. Thus getting better and better never truly finding their best because they will continue creating. As I said I am not entering because I am opening a room with a city feel in October so I am using my ideas on that room. Makes no sense to me to display it this early but I am having fun making it.

Well said Rob, one of the reasons this is going ahead. To bring out those people from the shadows to shine with their creations and above all else who had fun the process of creating it.

I checked, the connection is full bandwidth, and both accesses from problems, if within 30 seconds it disconnects me

Strange. Do you use a VPN at all? Also please try to turn off your modem for 30 seconds. Then turn it back on and try again, this typically refreshes your connection and usually assigns youu a new IP if your ISP uses dynamic IP address assignment.

I confirm that I and other people have the same problem, the serve is not right

I just checked on my end and can confirm it is working OK. I can connect fine. Check your routing. It could be you're experiencing a routing issue with the connection from your home to the server. Also try the other server option on the login screen so if you're normally using EU Proxy, try to use US Direct or vice versa.

I see, no clue how that's happening but I guess I'll just close the forums when I'm not using it. I also just scanned my pc with Malwarebytes and it didn't find any threats. Either way, thanks for the input Ash ^^

No problem, also try to clear your browser cache and cookies, just incase something is corrupted there.

  14. It seems like your account is sending requests to the forum many times in a row, and the Cloudflare DDoS protection has temporary blocked you from accessing the website. That is a DDoS notification, probably a false positive. Double check your connection and browser to make sure you don't have any types of Malware etc.

first of all the game needs a free base and be free to play...bcuz who wants to pay to play....and then pay more for more content...if you look at IMVU and SL its free games and you pay for content.

Agreed. The only time they'll be able to make an ingame market to charge for real money is if the game goes free to play. Or keep it as is and the ingame content is only purchasable with xGold. Which would be a good use for xGold.

  16. I do like the idea of two channels one which is world chat, which is for general chit chat across the game, the other specifically for advertising. As I do agree the world chat was heavily filled with advertisements for parties and rooms, and the posts were very extreme that I just don't look at it anymore and muted the world chat. But having a new chat channel for ads specifically will be the best action I feel in my opinion.
