constant disconnects

This has been going on for years and only the people who demanded refunds got them. Gizmo, do you feel good about using a hamster wheel for a server and pocketing everyone's money? You're stealing days from people who bought subscriptions. A month subscription entitles a person to 30 days, and if your server is down for any of those you cheated them. Whats worse is the only recourse people have is to demand a full refund and completely lose their subscription. 

Also the people saying "get a life and go do something else" are overlooking the fact that most people have full time jobs and have a specific window where they can play this game. It does me no good if the server isn't up until my weekend is over.

"The devs have to sleep" is a poor excuse, it probably wouldn't hold up in court. They have thousands of active subs and are raking in millions of dollars. Hire someone to watch the damn server while you're sleeping

They have not acknowledged there is a problem, although it has been reported by a number of us.

That’s my status page. :) but it’s an unofficial one. I know as little as you, I just automated the check.

This site is made by a community member so this isn't even a service from the Dev's

Actually it doesn't.  This is not a 3dxofficial website but one kindly set up by Colin to provide us with a little bit more info than we get from Lisa or Gizmo.  So yes it says it's not working, but not that it's being fixed or what the problem is.

When you provide a service in this highly competitive market place, it doesn't take too long for you to lose you're crown. Look at what happened to the likes of RLC. They took their eye off the ball and stopped investing in their product and they soon lost a huge chunk of their subscribers to other businesses. There's is now a clunky expensive and outdated platform with a fraction of the business it used to have. HOWEVER, they very rarely encounter these problems and are fighting tooth and nail to regain their business.

At the end of the day, it's a business and a very lucrative one at that. If you ignore your customer base, you lose it. Part of customer service is keeping your clients informed. The numbers look very rosy now because of the discounted service. Without doubt if there were offering full price, things might be different and those with monthly subscriptions may well be looking somewhere else for their entertainment.

This business puts food on the tables of the staff and roofs over their heads. It would be madness to jeapodise their income and I'm sure they are trying to get things resolved. However, not telling its paying customers exactly what's happening and allowing rumours to spread is a short cut to corporate disaster.

Its business school 101. Keep your customers happy and informed and they'll keep coming back.

You always can play some game/watch film. I mean, of course you can do a lot of other nice stuff, I am just mentioning the easiest way to entertain yourself. Yeah, it's understandable that you are frustrated because you had some plans and now they are ruined, but well... shit happens. It's not a regular thing anymore and I hope not going to be.

Well then you can try to sue them I guess? I mean it sounds pretty pathetic to try to sue someone because of 1 day of server down in online game and loosing your ~70 cents paid for subscription at maximum. But who knows maybe it will work (I doubt lol).

I hope you are joking about millions of dollars lol. 3dxchat's community is pretty small. Even if we have 10k active players here and all of them pay 20$ month (which is very far from true, because in reality many people pay yearly and many use Christmas or corona special offers) – it's still 200k$ per month before all taxes and expenses. But I am sure it's much less.

This game is now in business for around 7+ years and so far there is no other platform that offers the same experience as 3dxchat to be honest, not RLC, achat or Second Life, RLC looks like crap and is more expensive, achat looks like crap and doesn't offer any of the features that 3dx has and is more expansive, Second Life is expansive as f*** if you want to have a decent looking avi and the game runs like in slow mo even on a good PC and after so many years yes SL looks like crap too, there is no real competition in this genre.

At the moment 3dx is the most user friendly game in its price tag and feature list and is looking great for its age.
