Averee got a reaction from xLilBabyGirlx in 3DXChat Yelp-like Feature
This will be controversial, but worth thinking about.  What if there was a 3DX Yelp-like feature so that players could rate and review their experiences with other players.  The goal would not be to punish under-performing players, but a mechanism to enable players to better understand what other players like and don't like about them.  Obviously, would want nothing anonymous, and there would certainly be drama - but among some players the game is already packed with day-to-day drama.  I envision at the bottom of a players profile there would be an average rating and a timeline so that could see if a player is getting better over time, and a chance to read reviews from other players.  This already kinda happens with the gifts.  PLEASE don't burn me alive for making the suggestion.  Just an idea that I thought could generate useful discussion.

Sadly, in some services you actually can.
In China they even have goverment-driven social rating.
I just wish 3dxchat is not going share this vicious and straight up dehuminizing practice.

worst idea I heard in a long time! Nothing positive would come out of this.
You can't rate people like movies, books or vacuum cleaners...

This is just more drama and toxicity and immaturity waiting to happen, honestly.
Immediately people will abuse the system and write horrible reviews just because someone didn't want to meet up with them, or have sex with them, etc. They will talk shit about people they are jealous of, they will lie and spread rumors that way. The majority of people in 3DX cannot and should not be trusted with something like that, lol.
Best way to judge a person's character is to either talk to them, ask their friends, or look at their gifts.

If this feature did come out,you know itll be abused alot by everyone giving false 1 stars ratings simply cause they were denied sex or a friend add.

So... if the game already has quite a lot of drama... then it will not hurt to add even more of it?
Tbh I don't see how the advantages of this feature can outweigh the additional toxicity and drama it will definitely bring.
    I personally strongly against it.

Your rooms are fantastic.  Thanks for sharing.  I used the Medieval Inn as a starting point to construct and Irish Pub that the guests at our St Pats Day party thought looked fantastic.  You are an incredible builder.  Please keep sharing.

We are hoping to find a room owner with an Irish-style pub that would be willing to host a St Paddy's Day event.  We will provide a music and band, and promote the event.

I'd love to be able to create simple animations for objects - nothing too crazy - just specify a start and end point (assume straight line to keep it simple), and define a trigger and duration.  I work with Unreal Engine regularly and have been able to create some amazing effects with very simple animations.
While I'm at it, I'd love to see more primitives.
A text tool would be nice too.
Thanks, I know a lot of people complain about this and that, but I'm a huge fan of the World Editor.  Good work!!!

I'm fairly new and while I started out with a couple of negative experiences, I'm glad I stuck with the game.  I've never had more fun playing a game before.  Like you, I'd play the game if there was no sex.
Say, "Hi" if you ever see me around.

Hey! First of all, I fell in love with this game, and I didn't even play it properly yet.
I bought my first subscription yesterday and honestly didn't expect much. Quarantine just got to me and this game promised something a little different and adventurous so I went for it.
What surprised me first is how pretty it actually looks, I didn't expect this from such a niche game. What surprised me most though, was when I joined the first map, it was a bar. I immediately felt the same kind of thrilling anxiety I know from real life. You know, the feeling you get when you're in the club all by yourself because your friend takes forever to get some drinks. All the people, the music, the interaction. It really was something.
I didn't know the controls yet so I accidentally clicked somewhere, started walking into the crowd and bumped into a guy. I had no idea how to stop so I panicked and closed the game. No other game gave me this much of a "I'm here" feeling. I played a couple of MMOs before but none did that.
So I logged back in and checked out all the other features. Spent about half an hour on one outfit and then moved on to the world editor which got my absolutely exited! Building your home like in the Sims but you can actually invite real Sims people! As a sucker for the Sims game this made me so happy.
Then I finally got the courage to join another server. The one little island-beach. It was pretty, the music was good and some guy wrote me pretty quick as he was reading my bio in which I stated that I'm new and don't know what I'm doing. He explained a few things, how the chat works, the interface and what you can all do in the game. We ended up sitting down and had a really good talk. No forced conversation, just a really nice talk about the game. He then showed me a map he really liked so we joined that server. It was a huge beach and only then I realized that there are almost no boundaries to how big the maps can get and I was again super excited on what's all possible here.
We sat down, had some bottles of wine and kept talking. He showed me secret rooms you can find with the F5 camera and how interactions with each other work (Nothing lewd, though).
Later we moved on to a cafe in a city-like map. Sat down, and continued our talk. Eventually he introduced me to a club that we entered and started dancing on the dance floor. It was packed with 40 other people and it was surreal! I really vibed with the music, it was so fun syncing the dance moves and having a fun chat. We danced for probably an hour and moved on to another open air rock festival kind of thing and spent the rest of the night there.
It was literally giving me the same vibes I get in real life when being in clubs or concerts. Obviously not that intense, but it's the same feeling. I eventually logged off as it was 3am for me, but I had an amazing night. I probably spent 30 minutes just laying in bed thinking about what just happened. Oh, the guy and I obviously friended each other before I logged off so we can meet up again.
So this was my first day, and I'm still feeling like I went out to party last night. (Also really made me miss the RL club but 'rona says no).
I guess what I'm trying to say with this post is that I never ever expected a game like this to be so friendly, cute and immersive. I expected to log on, make out with a random and have some sex animation but nothing of that happened and I'm not even mad, I wasn't even in the mood at the end of the day. Hell, I would honestly play this game without the sex aspect!
So yeah, this is a wonderful game and I'll definitely stick to it. Now I can't wait to meet more people and just enjoy this experience!
Thank you for reading, below you'll find some screenshots of last night

Is there any chance that we might see better support for VR.  I have tried to play the game in VR.  It's fun experiencing everything in 3D at first, but quickly becomes tiresome.  With some minor improvements, 3DXChat could be an incredible VR experience, although I admit, I'm not sure how you would get the chat to work well without a virtual keyboard and I've not seen one that I've found that impressive - but, it could be out there.  Nonetheless, a few simple suggestions:
    - Enable movement using the stick on the Oculus hand controller
    - Provide a mechanism to easily dock the menu so it can be placed to one side or the other out of the forward line of sight
    - Map the F5, F6 and F7 functions to the buttons on the Oculus hand controller so can switch out of first person
These could all be done easily with UE, although I don't know enough about Unity to know how easy or hard it might be.
Thanks - you guys are awesome just giving us what you've given us already....

In V4 maybe i could calculate the width of each letter from the json. It's possible but pretty hard work as it's a combination of the rotation, the size and the type of object. Each object work a bit differently from the others.
Another way to do something would be to create a size parameter for each letter. But then most of the work should be done for each new font.
I will think about it but i won't have the time for now.

Here's how it looks when I'm 3DXChat-ing.  I'm in my bedroom laying on the bed, usually with the computer either in my lap or propped on a couple of pillows next to me.  I usually have my phone in my hand texting back-and-forth with my friends or checking Instagram feeds.  There's also the music.  I'm constantly switching between the music in the rooms and my own music - I'm picky.  This is a lot going on all at once and I've regularly had the experience where I look over and there's six or so PMs and I don't know if they are from the last couple of minutes or way further back.  I usually don't respond - partly cause I don't want to expose how out there I can be and partly cause I'm a little bashful and still figuring this place out.
This outfit got a lot of stares and a few comments.  Damn, I love the attention.
