Where Users will create, and upload for sale, clothing meshes,  meshes skinned by others with textures, Properties for sale, and the addition of custom scripts - for a fee.  No, old man, things are not staying static. Even 3DX Devs know this and are taking steps as they see fit.

I guess Maxx told about millions in user base. It means a count of registered users but not actual count of active users. Like in 3dx , here was registered a lot but today playing less. 600k users at sl is how much active users they have in the game. I am not sure about this number because at sl a lot of alts. One person can hold around 20-30 alts for keeping their traffic in places they own. But actually it has really a lot of active users because it is free-to-play.

If you go back about a decade, SL was so busy that major companies had a presence in it. It was that busy.

 

If you look at RLC in it's heyday about six years ago, they averaged around 5,000 in game at any one time.

 

People still make a living I'm told in SL. As for RLC, the market has plummeted over the years because of decline in population and abundance of stuff for am avi and custom properties. There was a time about five years ago, when a good designer could make $30,000 a year US.

 

Those days are gone, but businesses continue and 1,000 an hour average up till about 10pm PST.

 

When you consider RLC has franchises in Russia, Brazil, Germany, Italy... you can see how it has been reduced a great deal to language based franchises that pay Utherverse franchise fees.

 

Yes, the Big Fish in this forum may have a lot to say about EVERYTHING, but in the end, they really aren't very big fish.
