  1. Mikey's a mouldy oldie really Here's one - I've just been over to Ireland to see family, you know how it is ............... you have to visit aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins and they all make you really welcome. Funnt things is they all use it as an excuse to get the whole family together so you see everybody every visit. I love my family, they're totally bonkers and totally ace. We flew in to Cork with Aer Lingus and I can confirm that electronic devices that do not have 'flight safe' mode must be turned off during all stages of the flight. Just saying ................ that's all. Of course once you turn your phone on again on landing you get loads and loads of texts from everybody because they've all been working out who's picking you up. Back to rl again for me, tc everybody, yeah.
  2. Yeah, some guys are total arseholes and think that sex is their right rather than something given. There’s also some guys whose English is crap and they aren’t sure how to start a convo. Still there’s no excuse for not trying. I’d rather a guy said hello and tried to chat than random partner invites.
  3. There are times when real life has to take over, and that's the case with me at the moment. Close friends know why so it's a public thank you for their support. After a bumper asparagus crop the strawberries and raspberries are coming along. From the greenhouse we've had our first cucumber, the rest are becoming positively tumescent. Here's a raspberry suggestion:- Marinate raspberries in a nice sweet rose wine, this makes an ace sauce. Mix a little sugar and vanilla in to some nice soft goats cheese (we get an ace one here called Vulscombe) Serve up a good helping each of fruit and sauce and put a blob of sweetened goats cheese on top. Nothing better after a barbie in the garden .............................. unless of course you prefer pavlova's. OMG so much yummy stuff around in summer!
  4. Ignoring the great tea bagged world leader there seem to be two points here. The first, and probably the most important, is that discussions such as these are a way of establishing the mores, the rules if you like, of our community. The devs do make changes when they see fit and it is in their interests to take into account what we think. Keep us happy and their revenue will increase, piss us off and revenue will decline. It is important, I think, that these discussions reveal a general concensus for the devs to pick up on. On the other hand there is no reason why somebody shouldn't use a forum such as this to show respect to a former member. People do it elsewhere. The problem, as I see it, is that there are people around who will use this as just another way to mess with people's heads and to cause conflict, disruption and, sometimes, downright harm. To my mind it is a topic to be approached with great circumspection and restraint and, possibly, not the best of ideas.
  5. Where is summer! I suppose there’s no alternative but to put the heating on, log in and go the beach and pretend to soak up a few rays. All this rain has one bonus, a bumper asparagus harvest. 84 spears with four days left to go before the end of the season.
  6. Ace post Leopardus. I don’t think many of us like people who play false to themselves. This thread all started with a silly convo with some in game friends, like who of the three of us was most middle class. I won hands down, despite my working class credentials, by virtue of my having a bean to cup coffee machine, plus a second one waiting to go to the dump. Oh that and getting groceries delivered from that ‘W’ place. Seriously though, middle class or not you can’t beat stuff from your own garden. I only do herbs, asparagus, strawberries and raspberries but I do have a few fruit trees. My hens .............. they are all rescued ex-battery hens so they live a happy free range retirement causing mayhem in my garden. Accuse me of virtue signalling if you like but it is a very small thing I can do for these poor creatures, they arrive looking so sad, pale, mostly bald. It’s wonderful to see them settling in and doing henny things, and the eggs they produce beat anything you can buy. They quickly feather up and start showing their personalities. I don't think pretentious twats are anything but pretentious twats. Middle class is pretty OK really.
  7. What’s this I hear! The middle classes now shop at Lidl .................. so Mikey’s cool with his Tesco Metro but maybe not Barry’s Waitrose.
  8. /me waves to Desi. Try this one if you can get some really fresh asparagus. It’s a bit chefy so uses lots of pans. Hard boil one egg per person, preferably laid that morning from own hens. Fry bread crumbs in butter until nicely coloured. Add lemon juice, zest and parsley. Mix chopped egg, bread crumbs etc with some melted butter. Put asparagus spears in boiling water and cook until just tender - slightly al dente is nice. Place asparagus on warm plate and spoon egg and breadcrumb mix over. If too dry add more lemon juice and melted butter. This makes an ace lunch dish - for total middle class rating wash down with chilled white Zinfandel.
  9. 56 spears of asparagus so far this season, with four weeks to go. Good innit.
  10. A good Italian passata is a joy. No watery crud when you reduce down the sauce. Btw - I read somewhere that we’re all middle class these days, in the UK anyway.
  11. Search for a person's profile on the forum before friending them - here's a great place to find out who your friends shouldn't be Ignore World Chat, the best rooms don't need much advertising. That's where the trolls hang out doing their dastradly deeds.
  12. And your point is? How about this one - tinned or fresh tomatoes for curries, pizza sauce or pasta sauce? Btw Desi, try putting a slug of gin in gravy with beef.
  13. Does that mean Mikey likes things fast? Perhaps a closet thrash metal enthusiast?
  14. Music has been part of my life, like, for ever. My Mum sang, my Dad plays guitar and we always had music playing at home. My Aunts sing. My friends in 3dxChat know I sing, some have heard me. I occassionally front a friend's band. My husband is a multi-instrumentalist (mostly keys) and composer. OMG that sounds so much like bragging but music is, as Mikey says, a life thing. Something that's so embedded in to who you are that if it is taken away you cease to be the person you are. Life is no life without music. In 3DXChat I love the way we have DJ's presenting a hugely diverse range of music, that you get to hear stuff you never would otherwise. That can only be good, yeah.
  15. Who knows what they get up to in 'furrin parts'.WIsley is ace, and you picked a fabulous day to go too. We have Rosemoor down this neck of the woods. Here's the results of the blind tasting undertaken yesterday in my garden:- Me - it has to be scone, jam then cream. It looks better. His nibs - scone, cream, jam - but then he's from London where they don't know any better Dad - no preference, but then his taste buds are shot thanks to long term medical treatment. Step-Mum - scone, jam then cream. She's from across the Tamar in the land of oggies, emmets and stuff. Best rl friend - thought it was all too funny and preferred the gin tasting we had the other Christmas Best friend's son - says I make better pizza than scones (in game friends willl get this one) Best friend's daughter - likes both tcts a bit, like isn't stuff like this another way of sayig the game could do with all sorts of mini-games, silly competitions and stuff.
  16. From an aesthetic point of view the red jammy stripe in the middle looks better, even if it is siding with the Cornish. Can’t you just hear the cries of Trelawny as they brandish Cornish pasties made with the kind of pastry that doesn’t break after being dropped down a mine shaft.
  17. That be Cornish ma ferret - lmao Does it taste the same? Should we ask the 3dxChat user base to undertake blind tastings on this fine Easter weekend. Like best scone recipe, best jam, Devon, Cornish or Irish clotted cream. Does clotted cream come from anywhere else even. So many questions.
  18. OMG - totally the wrong side of the Tamar! You’ll be wanting to put the jam on top of the cream next. Get it right - it’s scone, jam then cream!
  19. His Nibs new toy What is it about blokes and cooking with fire, like they do barbecues, firepits and now wood-burning pizza ovens but aren't safe to cook anything edible in the kitchen. And are unable to stack the dishwasher!!!
  20. A beautiful song - I do wonder how it would work froma feminist perspective.
  21. Come on guys, be honest. What is the first thing you notice about somebody you fancy. For me it's maybe smile, eyes, manner - you know the things that convey something about the person. I'll quote something a good rl friend said about her husband the night they met 'he has the twinklyest blue eyes imaginable and a shang me now smile'. A quick edit here - doesn't that kinda show a limitation of 3dxChat? Like no smiles. The thing we have to go on is a person's profile. A good profile tells you whether a person is worth getting to know or not. It's like your firstd impressions. Blank profile means blank person.
  22. Does that mean that Donald Trump is not US President because many Americans didn't vote at all? OMG it's just a bit of fun, isn't it? Or is it that the average American male is feeling a bit under-represented with an average of 5.1"
  23. A man's most attractive features, imho, are intelligence, sense of humour, consideration for others, gentle confidence ....................................... and not the size of his knob. OMG who would think something that looks like a wrinkly turkey neck is attractive. Anyway it's what you do with it that counts, yeah.
  24. /me expects to see a rush of guys changing their profiles to say they're from Equador.
  25. I'm sure I'm not the only person thinking what I'm thinking. Aren't we supposed to be talking about developments and suggestions here?
