I had the most amazing wedding i have ever seen.  I had advertised it for a month and at one point it had 90 people.

Room was light so it should not have lagged anyone but them with the lamest of puters.

Everything went off with out a hitch and i have to thank everyone for behaving and not bring drama and shit into the scene.   Planning was impeccable and the people all showed up on time relieving stress for me.

I had a moment of silence for the veterans as it was veterans day here in murica..

My previous posts on weddings were spot on   for making a successful wedding so it proves i practice what i preach LOL.   there was one hiccup in that the officiant locked up and my  man went ahead and proposed on bended knee, AND i was so excited i almost immediately accepted so i got no pics of  him on bended knee.  I also had no photographer so i didn't get many pics except for the ones below.   Thanks to Dominus for the petal falling pic.   The party started immediately while the petals fell so it took some time to get everyone up to the mountain dance floor until Koke and i broke kiss and ran up the mountain.   a perfect day and  TY to all the DJ's that provided such wonderful music for our party.

DJ licensing

wtf over LOL

so Virtual DJ Pro 8 has a content unlimited license agreement that you pay for monthly.   I have this but i  have no idea what good it is cause there's no popo here checking for it.   I have seen endless rants about DJ's and licensing here but i subscribe to a paradigm that some sheeple will NOT get or understand.  perhaps it's because i am from Utah where the government is to be distrusted and people are freer than most states especially the peoples Democratic Republic of California. I take a more Swedish approach to media so here goes........

Music is great and has become more electronic instead of vinyl like in the olden days.  By electronic i mean the modulation of electrons by tools such as CD's and internet files.  Electrons are a physical entityand creation by god and should not be  taxed or controlled for the  financial gain of capitalist pigs.  Once a song is out there in the public domain it is no longer to be controlled by fabricated laws dictated by the fat cats manipulating laws and control  by the  bureaucrats of government.    If an artist wants to make money from their songs they should charge for concerts but NOT gain after they send it out using gods electrons.     God made electrons and humans have developed ways to modulate those electrons with  tools like recorders and CD's and digital representations of the original air wave modulations that affect our ears.     Air is free and so should be electrons.

Electrons are like water which is free and available to use by humans.   To gain financially from electrons is a violation  of gods will and anyone charging  for electronic modulation is blaspheming and  will go to hell.  Electrons and forces of electrons are  an example of physics which is god's word and should not be taxed by them that wish to make a profit using nature and natural forces especially when  it is a  control that some humans will NOT agree to.

In  america we are free to do what we want and should NOT allow the government to control shit just so  a few will profit.   It is my right and privilege to fight ignoble processes and  tea taxes that are unfair and demeaning to freedom  and  spirit.    The man will NOT beat me down as long as i have  a breath to take.

if a DJ is charging for using others mixes it becomes more of a gray area but who does that here? LOL    To use the electrons to run a speaker or earbuds is  a free exchange of the water of electrons and must not be controlled by force of laws and  fabricated agreements.

So if I get correctly what you saying, you claim music should be free anyway as its made of electrons that are like water and free to use by humans.

Let me ask you something then... Do you work tomorrow? If yes, enter the office of your boss and say: he doesent need to pay you anymore because your body is 93% made of water. And water is free to use by humans.

Right?

Hmm. not only is there a huge amount of time and cost go into learning how to create the music in these electrons that you seem to think should be free to all, there is also a cost in making those electrons.

Even if an artist makes their own recordings, to get it to sound even half decent there is a cost in the equipment needed to do so.

Most of what you hear over these so called free electrons have been put there using professional recording which can go into the thousands for just one track, even for un known artists.

If the only way artists are able to make a return from what they do is to play gigs, then why would they bother recording, you would end up with no specially and artistically formulated electrons to play.

And btw, unless things have changed, which I doubt very much, the content unlimited license agreement does not cover you for the royalties that are owed for the music you play.

They may make it sound like they do, but if you go further into it in their own website you will find where they say themselves it does not.

Their so called blanket license only covers you to use their products to play that music, but does not cover any music you play.

Electrons are just part of atoms, which make up everything. Technically everything is made of atoms, which have electrons spinning around them. I'm not sure how this excuses people stealing something that someone else created.

Just my 2 cents

When the world turns into communism and everyone just works to improve the community and not for money. Everything will be free at least. But until that day comes.

Just fucking pay for your stuff. Nothing on the world is for free. Not even the water. You can ask the Nestlé CEO about that!

I dont agree on the water thing tho!!

Water IS free kinda.. unless you wanna pay for it. Many people don't understand that bottled water is unregulated but tap water at your home is regulated. But people don't trust their water from the tap and buy bottled water instead, which makes no sense, but that's a diff subject.

Like you said... pay for your shit so we can all have nice shit. If everyone stole music, we would not have very much music to choose from.

A few years ago there was a web site in Russia where you could buy any music track for around 20 cents or cheaper.

They copied tracks from all over the world and made them available for much less than anywhere else.

The US music companies took them to court in Russia using the top legal firms from the US and lost, the judge declared that he could not see it or feel it therefore it is nothing, it is not a real thing, so it can't be stolen and has no worth.

Later I think the music companies appealed and this time used legal firms from Russia itself and the website was deemed not legal.

Thing is we have 5 senses, sight, taste, touch, smell and hearing.

To declare something isn't worth anything because you can't see it or touch it is declaring that some senses are not worth anything.

What will be next, if we can't smell it, it isn't worth anything or if we can't taste it.

Do we really have to be able to see something or touch it before it can be declared as real and worth something, is our sense of good sound actually worth nothing, I am sure the deaf wouldn't agree with that.

The Virtual DJ Pro 8 has a content unlimited license agreement means you can play the music all you want, but you can not play as a DJ would for public parties. It does not cover royalties. DJs that officially mix a music song ask permission from the artist or the owner of the music books. Public radios pay all the licenses and royalties to play music legally, the advertisements they play are a source of income for these radio stations. There are multiple DJs and in multiple settings in the game that do pay for all these licenses and royalties. Much like a 3DXChat porn scene would insult and actual real life porn star (that's right I can not put porn actress due to actresses complaining that porn is not acting).  Come to think of it, what is acting? The stuff in Hollywood, live theater, porn scene, the 3DXchat porn actress & actors, a point of view until you start looking at what is officially stated as the legal definition.  :P

It is stated in the VDJ 8 Price & Licenses, "If you are using VirtualDJ professionally (as defined in the EULA: "if you earn money using VirtualDJ "), you need to purchase a PRO license." Under End User License Agreement Summery,

- The default "Home" free license gives you the right to install the software on your private computer and use it for personal use only.

- It does not give you the right to use it for professional use (where you are getting paid or compensated for an activity that involves using the software), without purchasing an additional "Pro" license.

If you are an official DJ, great, you are paying all licenses for how you use your skill, however according to https://www.merriam-webster.com/a disk jokey : a person who plays recorded music on the radio or at a party or nightclub

— called also DJ(informal) deejay.
Like it, don't like it, don't care, that is the official Merrian-Webster Dictionary of what a DJ is.

Rob, I think you will find that even the Virtual DJ Pro license does not cover you for the royalties that are due on the music you play, if I remember correctly, it is just for VDJ itself, where you are required to have a pro license to use it professionally.

Streaming music over the Internet requires the streamer to pay royalties for each track played for each stream they send it through.

Playing music in 3DX, in public places or a room is not just one stream, it is a separate stream to each person there tuned in to listen to it.

Artists can have there tracks details in agencies all over the world, most do in the common US agencies.

It is collected using the meta data on each track, mainly the ISRC which is a code attributed to each recording obtained from one of these agencies that allows these agencies to know who the owner is and which country they are from.

Each radio station including Internet radio stations are required to submit a list of all these ISRC codes to their countries agency complete with payment of the royalties owing, they are then distributed to the relevant agencies around the world which then forward them to the track owners.

All done from information in the ISRC codes.

The VirtualDJ Pro License does not cover any royalties at all.

It just allows you to make money with that program by using it for Clubs, Shows and Radio where you can expect an income.

I don't know what you guys are always reading in thoose disclaimers but it's surely not a license to play and stream copyrighted music you didn't purchase

I know it doesn't cover any royalties for the tracks played, that is what I said, also just purchasing the tracks doesn't cover royalties for streaming them either.

Cuni have said it better luv, the commercialization of music is sumit some greedy fockers came op wi to make money out of honest musicians, now musicians once op on a time where entertainers who wandered land and sea to entertain people for a coin, free meal and dry bed to sleep, they where bohemians, but all them peeps making money out of poor musicians are nothing but greedy fockers who cani get real jobs. I like musicians, I just don't like the greedy feckers making all the money, I rather pay a full fee to a musician than to the company that represents him/her.

Music is a way of, by and for people to cope with their lives, hard n harsh, tis always been a part of the human through out the ages. so spread the luv  n let's not talk about who has wot and who hasni it, because in the end tis all about spreading luv, joy n happiness through out the music.    :)

That is a great source of information yet some of it is a bit misleading or incomplete. I understand you might not have wanted to go into all the details and intricacies of licensing but, for the benefit of the streamers here I think they should be given a bit more in depth explanation.

Until recently I've ran a legal internet radio station in Canada and the USA and paid my royalties to all of the royalty collectors.

Streaming music over the Internet requires the streamer to pay royalties for each track played for each stream they send it through.

That is partly true. Depending on the station's income and expenses and total listening hours and aggregated listening hours.

Under certain conditions you can only pay a flat fee and be covered to stream music in the USA and Canada.

Each radio station including Internet radio stations are required to submit a list of all these ISRC codes to their countries agency complete with payment of the royalties owing, they are then distributed to the relevant agencies around the world which then forward them to the track owners.

All done from information in the ISRC codes.

Same rule applies as what I said above.

The real problem in 3dx is to know who's listening and from where so that you can pay all the appropriate collection agencies.

I think you see where I'm going with this.. What if listeners on a given day are from the UK? And the next day from Spain? You going to pay all the agencies?

As far as I know there is no company that offer a world coverage.

Furthermore, people seem to think that by ripping a video from YouTube and then paying royalties that it makes it legal.

It is not, the track has been obtained illegally without any consent from the label representing the artists or the artists themselves.

If people want to play the real legal way.. Obtain the music legally and pay the royalties to the appropriate agencies then block the countries to which you don't pay royalties to.

I don't think any of the legal preachers in here or in the various rooms on 3dx do that.. yet, ask YOU to be legit in streaming music.

Furthermore, a blanket coverage covers all DJs under a certain banner. So one group could pay the royalties for their group and then split the costs between DJs. It's a logistical nightmare but alot easier than having 10 DJs paying full licensing everytime.

Legal <> Lawful    or does it?   or are we all sheep submitting to the laws imposed on us by others?   are we really going to allow our minds and actions to be controlled by jackbooted thugs who   will hammer us into submission so that others can drain our souls and minds turning us into drones?
