    Here we are, coming to the end of our Through the Decades series as we have finally hit our current decade, the 2010's,

    where we live in a connected age of instant gratification and instant response, such as:

    Tinder and the swipe right or left deliberation;

    Dreams of internet stardom with YouTube, Instagram, blogging...聽

    (the internet equivalent of being a garage band aiming for music success);

    Instagram;

    Memes. Yep.;

    The golden age of comic book movies;

    Pokemon Go (that one time PG was played by everyone BUT me);

    Net neutrality;

    The bearded gentleman;

    Clothing. Just look around you right now;

    and the list will stop here.

    We are concluding our journey with our current decade, as we explore the music of today and what the results are of what came before it.

    Come to Absolute on TUESDAY as DJ Vixen shares the lighter side of the 2010's rock,

    while keeping some room for dessert on Thursday's Little Friday to continue the musical journey of hard rock through the 70's and beyond.

    This will be the fifth week of the series as we go through the decades, exploring the various influences to the music you listen to today.

    NOTE: Make sure to check out the polls on this forum and cast your vote for the single best song of each decade.

    If you don't agree with the choices, please put your thoughts in the comment by posting.

    Next week set will be about what YOU have decided. Make sure your voice is heard!

    Continuing our journey through the decades... the 2000's were a turbulent time. We saw a great deal of loss with the Twin Towers, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and Hurricane Katrina,

    but there were many "positive" things that defined this decade as well, such as:

    The golden age of Nickelodeon;

    AOL Instant Messenger;

    IPod's, camera phones, flash drives, Bluetooth;

    Minesweeper;

    Facebook (fracking die already!);

    MySpace (dead, dead, dead);

    YouTube (<3);

    Low rise jeans, tube tops, bell sleeved shirts, crop tops, cargo pants, Capri's, trench coats;

    Brad and Jen, Britney and don't make me go on;

    Sex In The City, Lost, The Sopranos, every idiotic adult cartoon show;

    Boy bands (kill me now);

    and the list goes on... and on...

    We are yet continuing journey of understanding what people considered to be 'heavy metal'.

    Bands like Metallica (a constant), Slipknot, SOAD, Pantera, Disturbed, A7x, Iron Maiden, and so many more, helped perpetuate a deeper understanding of metal.

    Continuing our journey through the decades... lets just face it, the 90s were hard to explain. Some say it was the best decade to grow up in, and here is why:

    The President of the United State had the 'cigar' to try and reinvent how sex was defined;

    Slang (Wassup?, Let's get jiggy with it, As if) Great stuff, right? Psyche.

    Michael Jordan, Mark McGwire, Tiger Woods and the amazing Wayne Gretsky (if you don't know Wayne, just get out of this post right now!);

    Generation X

    Plaid, ripped jeans, windbreakers, bandannas, combat boots, light up sneakers, overalls, backwards caps;

    Friends, Seinfeld, ER, Law & Order (ohh, the original), Full House,

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saved by the Bell, The Sopranos and In Living Color;

    Independence Day, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Matrix;

    Lion King, Toy Story (the first);

    Slap bracelets, Trapper Keepers, Beanie Babies, The Macarena (can we forget that one?);

    Cell phones, common computer usage and the internet;

    Y2K;

    and the list goes on.

    We are continuing journey of understanding what people considered to be 'heavy metal'.

    Bands like Metallica (more, more, more), Pantera, Sepultura, Korn, Megadeth, Slayer and so many more, helped perpetuate a deeper understanding of metal.

    Come to Absolute on Little Friday to continue the musical journey of hard rock through the 70's and beyond.

    Continuing our journey through the decades, the idealistic dreams of the 60s and 70s were worn down by inflation, foreign policy turmoil and rising crime;

    popular culture reflected the era's political conservatism with the symbol of the decade being

    'yuppie' - a baby boomer with a college education, a well-paying job and expensive taste;

    shoulder pads, perms, a small fortune in hair spray (I guess I could have just said BIG HAIR), spandex, leather were the 'look';

    "Just Say No";

    Afterschool Specials, Reading Rainbow, and a whole slew of painful shows I won't mention here;

    E.T., Return of the Jedi and Raiders of the Lost Ark;

    The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink;

    The Walkman

    "Be Kind, Rewind"

    Rubik's Cube

    glam rock, punk rock, hard rock, metal

    MTV

    and the list goes on and on... and on.

    It was the continuing journey of understanding what people considered to be 'heavy metal'.

    Bands like Metallica, Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, Scorpions, Dio, Ratt, and so many more, helped perpetuate a deeper understanding of metal.

    Every decade, a period of ten years, music has proven to change and to grow so much,

    that it is worthy to look at each decades idea of hard rock and examine how it has influenced today's bands.

    Starting with the 70's, a time reflecting the antiwar and counterculture sentiments and the political unrest that carried over from the 60's;

    tie dye shirts, ponchos, bell-bottoms, gauchos, and frayed jeans;

    lava lamps and vinyl records;

    Mork and Mindy (rest in peace Robin Williams);

    Apocalypse Now, Alien, Superman, Grease, and -

    The Godfather (it gives 'to the mattress' a completely different meaning) and -

    the beginning of the Star Wars empire (see what I did there?);

    and the list goes on.

    But mostly it was the beginning of the journey of what people considered to be 'heavy metal'.

    Roots of heavy metal come from bands like Blue Cheer and Jimmy Hendrix but officially the first band cited as heavy metal is...

    Come to Absolute on Little Friday for that answer, and you will understand the musical journey of hard rock through the 70's and beyond.

    This will be a five week series as we go through the decades, exploring the various influences to the music you listen to today.

    I was asked to post news of upcoming events on the forum.聽聽

    SUNDAY, APRIL 14th

    TRIVIA WINNER GIVEWAY - 9PM EST(GMT-5)

    JasperToms has won himself a boat complete with file to be awarded at a brief ceremony on Saturday night.聽 He was the only person to even attempt to answer the question of the 2 ladies who like to tease Smurf when he is at the Lake.聽 Our next trivia competition will be held the week of April 22nd.

    OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

    THE LAKE SCHEDULED DOWNTIME

    Staying open 24/7 is always my goal, but there are maintenance issues and real-life that I sometimes have to attend to.聽 The longer I remain open, the more unstable my game becomes regardless of taking measures listed here on the forum.聽 Also, running a computer 24/7 is not the best idea for longevity.聽 So when the room dips below a certain number of patrons and I have been open for longer than 24 hours, I will be closing the Lake briefly.聽 This will allow it ti reset and my computer to take a breath.聽 I will open again and have no plans to stop updating it and making the place some of you really enjoy.

    MODASMIC.COM

    If you want more information about the schedule, you can visit the website at modasmic.com.聽 Its just a place I made to share some of the things I made.聽 You will eventually be able to make requests for items you would like me to make for you.聽 Also, if you register, I encourage you to rate the Lake.聽 I will keep adding other rooms to review when I can step into other places and take a peek.

    I think a free trial is a good idea, but I think it should be something that only happens at certain times of the year like over a holiday weekend. The game could be free for everyone, but only for that weekend.

    Well I like all features from Rochi's dll, but most important for me this ones:
    1. Outfit save option. Especially good will be if you would make it possible to save outfit without hair/body/face so when player will decide, for example, to do a new haircut - there will be no need to redo all outfits again.聽
    2. Ghost partner. There are tons of user created stuff - FFF poses furniture, bdsm furniture, other custom poses and most of it requires using a ghost partner.
    3. Additional speed settings during sex and ability to pause animation.
    4.聽Removed clothes restrictions in sex poses. I don't want my dress and panties to dissapear just because I am doing a blowjob lol.
    5. 50 chat messages saved instead of 20.
    6. Camera options, it's hard to write them all here better just check in Rochi's blog.聽

    It can range from duplicates, lighting, overlapping of objects and so on.聽 I try as I go along to make sure that anything I build is on the lowest setting so anyone can be in or open the room.

    Matrix reacted to TashaTight in Reducing Room Size
    Well way you typically do it is by making sure you don't have object duplicates hanging around on top each other, then another way is to do smart building. By that I mean if you're in situations where there is two identical floors. You can choose to run some the walls from lower floor up all way to second floor, removing the need to use extra objects to some extend on second floor. You can do this in many situations to avoid using extra objects in some situations, by planning and thinking through your build essentially removing objects but without removing things from the build itself.
