Could we get a smooth wood texture material
JenC replied to TashaTight's topic in Ideas & Suggestions
Ive been asking this since the patch that removed them from us. I have a couple of builds in limbo because of this. -
A lot of us have wanted this.

Theres no way they will head in this direction as most social platforms are free with a marketplace attached to generate income, it would be impossible and/or financial suicide for 3dx to compete in that segment as a sub only option. Sure, adding more social aspects to this platform is good and helps player retention, but 3dx has done as well as its done because its not marketed primarily as social game.

Thanks, Im not sure how that game is going, Ive not played it for a long time. I will have another look at it when they add the NPCs early next year.

I finally finished off the BOS Bunker, heres a cut and paste from the description before. It is loosely based off a location in a game I played, Fallout 76, and The Brotherhood Of Steel underground bunker that is within the game. When coming across this location I thought it was such a cozy spot that it would make a nice room to be in with that someone special in this game. I started building this around a year ago but because of the lack of decent lighting tools, I couldnt get the feel I wanted so I shelved it. To me, lighting is the most important part of having a room feel good or ordinary so after a few wasted efforts early on, I now only partially build a room then see how the lighting works for the size and layout before progressing any further. It runs well on notebooks and is 383KB. In one of the pics below, youll see where I have circled a spot in the generator room, I wanted to add in the glory hole pose template but didnt want to have a hole in the wall and ruin the look of this room just for that, so I added in some railings to that room at the right heights so as the hands for that pose end up in the right spot and not in mid air. it turned out better than I thought it would and looks great, and more importantly, looks like its a natural part of the room. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Bunker.zip

Ive been coming across this a lot lately in our small groups, it matters not how many are in the room, even 1 person in the room. Ive worked out what triggers it, thought it doesnt happen all the time... If the people/person in the room already are using a seated/leaning pose, they become invisible to the next person entering the room. I havnt done enough testing to work out which poses are the ones causing it, but I seen just using Sit-1 on the floor made me invisble, as did sitting on a sofa. It was not untill I got up and used another piece of furniture and got up again did I become visible to my friend.

This feature has been asked for so many times by so many people, Mandy. We can only hope its something they may add in the future at some point.

While I dont use these values you listed, I have a set 5 colours as my go-to for normal lighting, fluro, floodlight, tungsten, candle, fire, any others I will make as I go. Ive included a pic that I use for adjustment of colours. If I want a little more or less colour left to right, and up and down to adjust the brightness. While you are correct in the size is not the right way to adjust the overall brightness, it can be used for some fine tuning and brightness variation in some rooms. A good example is a table lamp next to a bed, I will use a shrunken light tool to display the concentrated light directly from the lamp that doesnt travel far and normal size light placed near to spread that same colour across the bed and area around it. Its very hard to achieve that same effect with just using brightness.

Hey guys, with the festive season upon us I decided to make a liitle room. This is my cabin from the lakeside room I updated and re-released recently, I added it to a snowy alps theme and put some snow covering on it, then added some coloured bud lights. The inside is pretty much unchanged from the lake map, with the obvious inclusions of the x-mas tree and some coloured lights above the fireplace, and I also squeezed the dual lounge a little closer together. I placed some enviromental effects either side of the cabin that when viewing out the windows from inside look cool.. Its 214KB and runs well on notebooks and I hope you like it. Xmas Cabin.zip

Bug, glitch after creating a new character afterpatch
JenC replied to βπΌπ©β§'s topic in Technical Support
I was thinking about this again the other day when having a chat to someone about another error, his problem while different ended up being an old install, or be it remnants of that install causing conflicts. He fixed it by saving all the .world files to a seperate folder then done a uninstall and clean out of any and all old files and folders. -
Considering no one else is having any issue with this, I would try and diagnose on your end. Are there any antivirus issues, or permissions to a directory (do you have your files in a different place to the main directory?)

I was thinking about this a little while ago. For those that have been around a while, pre world builder there was a bug with one of the lounge poses where the breast size went to the default Betty size, but as soon as you changed or stopped that pose the breasts would revert back to your selected size, and as weve seen also with the lounge pose when they converted the MF doggy to FF, the females back was stretched to line up the pose. With this in mind, its obvious that body part dimensions can be changed on either model when inside the editor for the pose, so they could have all sorts of nipple play using the default size when in that pose. I know some wouldnt be happy with that, but Im sure plenty would love to have it like that instead of nothing at all.

I would love to add weather to some builds.

I dont even know if its on their radar as RPers are only a small group of the overall population, but heres the thing, Ive seen plenty come and leave because of the lack of tools for RP so its always going to be a hard grind to build a decent amount of players to voice a loud enough opinion. You cant say they didnt think about RP though as they added the /emote into the chat, which is an RP command, though most just use it to spam their rooms, so they were thinking about RP when making the game but stopped there. But you also have to remember that when released, we didnt have the world builder so RP was always going to be confined to a single small room and not an entire city we can now make.

Ive been building a map with this very idea in mind, ive been working on and off for around 12 months or more, and not in a hurry because without a local area chat, it is near on impossible for a persistent open world roleplay. We have been using it for our closed group sessions as the local chat doesnt overlap, but I opened it one day and as soon as 3 or 4 seperate convos started happening it became a mess with people not knowing whom was mentioning who, even though they were at the other end of town, a quarter of a mile away. If that is your in game name, if I see you around I will load it up and let you have a look at it.

One way I have seen the flat heel and high heel design work in another game is by not changing the height, but changing the length of the lower leg(from knee down) so when you take shoes off or use flat shoes the shin becomes longer.

I would argue that if you take offence at stuff like that, you shouldnt really share in the first place.

I know its a bit difficult, but it can be done. The best way to do it is not free, but to drop the operational degrees from the standard 15 to 5, this gives you much better control. Also change the colour of that base to black or something dark to make it easier to see for aligning. then when you get as close as you can with 5, drop it back to 2 and you will be able to get it spot on.

It must save that info somewhere else and using it. Did you use Gizmo's Registry Cleaning Tool? as thats the only other place that it could be getting it from that wouldnt be changed or removed with a reinstall. If you have, then put in a support ticket outlining the problem and everything you have tried.

This is a go-over so to speak of an earlier room I put up here, a small cottage beside a lake. I built that prior to having the landscape tools so I made the hills around using the build blocks which I was never happy with but its all I had then. So I redone all the surroundings and they look great now, but then I looked at the cottage I made back then and it didnt fit in my eyes as it was semi modern, so I got rid of the lot and built a new log cabin and built the firplace into the wall instead of having it within the building and it looks very nice. With the new spotlight I was able to put the warm soft glow of the fire exactly where it needed to be within the room and it looks beautiful and cosy. I have it set as night by default but looks great under all the presets available, and I kept it to a good size of 129KB. After finishing this the other day, it has become my fav room, such a cosy and warm feeling to be in with that someone special. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Lagoon Cabin.world
