    I am usually a patient and understanding person, but in this case, I am prepared to speak out and say that the lack of support exposure and the pathetic response from Gizmo with the weak message on the sign-on screen, are completely inadequate. In addition to compensation from a contractual perspective, I also think the following are required:
    A full and frank explanation here on the forum as to what happened and why there was no customer communication during the outage A promise of a full investigation from the game owners into the major service failure, with lessons learned identified and a plan of action to prevent recurrence put into action A promise of a follow up response to the customer base to explain the actions to improve the customer service that are going to be taken. It might be a small company with limited resources, but the sub's are real, and the customer base needs to be respected and valued, and evidence should be shown of that.
     
    On a related note, I have cancelled my annual recurring sub after 3.5 years of continuous membership.
     
    I do indeed feel well and truly stuffed, and not in a way that I might usually enjoy.

    Dear Gizmo & co,
     
    Thank you for getting us back online yippy yi ayyyyy. 
     
    The very least though, along with an apology, is for the days 3dx was unusable, compensation should be awarded to members in the way of extending memberships for those days (4 in this case)  plus 4 more as  a gesture of good will - 8 days in total for the inconvenience.
     
    To just ignore your members is not acceptable and kind of saying...  stuff you...  which I'm very sure you would not wish to do at all.

    I contacted BTM, they're going to refund the one month I bought.
     
    I only had one day of playtime before the servers died, a good first impression indeed.
    I might come back during a sale if they apologize and explain what is going on over there.

    Modz and 3DX are not the same, We at Modz on the top of the page have clearly posted that we were changing servers. We let everyone know this from the get go. We are not 3dx chat nor have we ever said we are. Alex is moving the site to improve speed as changing the cost of the server. AGAIN Modz HAS NOTHING to do with game being down

    The server went down Wednesday, the first day in which I could not log in as I did not renew my subscription. It is I who caused this problem. Giz might be a lover of mine, on an alt and is butthurt that I never renewed 
     
    It is I who is at fault! I left and took 3dx with me!
    Not really, obviously. Strange coincidence though.
     
    A prime example why I did not renew. The lack of content is by far, too sparse. There is a major lack of customer service, nearly non existent. This seems to have become worse over the years and I do not accept anything which defends the development of this game. I understand that something may have come up in Giz's real life. I'm patient and have always given the benefit of the doubt but this finally proves that this may be a one man show. I just really hope all is well on his end and that nothing has happened.
     
    However, until this place improves, not aesthetically nor by simply putting lipstick on a pig but a major overhaul on how this place is maintained, treated and viewed by the development 'team'. Patience is needed while taking up residence here as a player. However, this is like being in a bad relationship. You give and take. You bite your tongue, you deal with the inconsistencies and a little abuse. However, neglect and ignorance is not acceptable and until this world we try to play in becomes treated professionally and with the respect that the players deserve, after 4 years, I say with regret that my time here has come to an end. My patience has worn thin and I cannot give anymore to this neglectful relationship we have with the progress of this place. I cannot financially support a business which does not appreciate nor pay attention to their senior customers, or any customer, for that matter, for so many years. If I were to do this to a customer of mine in RL, I would lose their business to another company. Unfortunately I have no other company to turn to for proper service. Grrrrr! Someone make something else please 
     
    To the people who would rather complain, please, take a break. Do yourself this favor and simply take a step back for a while. Save the energy which you use to complain and actually do something about it which shows your dissatisfaction. Cancel your sub. I'm afraid that is the only way to get your point across, as since I've been here, nothing that anyone has said has been given any quarter, except those who are close to the development team. Sounds like a cult hahaha.

    *Laughs and reads all the things V has posted for bored newbies and fun things to participate in.*
     
    This is a great idea. I will be writing more for my newest Literotica publication. I have published another poem and my first STORY, Chapter one, posted there as of this morning.  I am excited to continue writing and improving my skills, as input and commentaries are permitted there. As for Forum, I love some of these wacky threads! They are challenging and crazy fun keeping people on their toes and posting. Good Job V
     
    As for the state of 3DX Servers, I recommend patience. Anything that takes this long must be pretty involved for it to be down so long. I hope, as many of you do, that it is up and running soon! That said however, Many good things to do here in Forum or RL as well. Carry On Fellow 3DX'ers!

    Guys.......any MMORPG or if I may say......most of the MMOs in the world don't actually work the way you think they do. Let me explain you the basics here. 
     
    On your systems, you have clients (for example: 3dxChat.exe), these clients are responsible to generate authentication tokens and are also responsible to save local level, game settings(there is more to it but lets not get into that detail at the moment). These clients generate authentication tokes and passed on using a suitable network connection, which are then received by an Authenticating server. This server is responsible for accepting the authentication token generated by your client. Consider this server as your gatekeeper. If you have the right credentials, it will let you in........if you don't, it will block you then and there.
     
    Once the authentication is complete and an acknowledgement token is sent back to the client.......the same token has the required URIs to reach out or to connect with your game servers. The game servers are the ones which host your game data depending on what or how the game has been designed. In some cases where the game is an open map MMORPG, the game servers facilitate the hosting of vital data like Game maps, and save as well as generate response based on the real time data that your actions generate ofc, being in the limits of the game programming. You can call them application servers in general. In some cases, these game servers can be your Matchmaking servers like in the case of Counter Strike series. Even Battlefield series follows the same concept. 
     
    However, these game servers are only responsible to generate response as per the program they are running which in this case, is a game. All vital information however, is saved in a separate server which is known as Database server or simply the storage server. This sever is responsible for storing all sort of data which the programmer of the game, has decided to store on the servers. This can be your credentials against which, the Authentication server authenticates or cross checks your authentication token sent by the client. It can also store game maps for your if the game maps are too large and in case of 3dxchat, your PM system and gifting as well as your authentication and Room maps are saved in this so called Database server. 
     
    Now the question comes, where is the problem? As we can see, unless we are not using the certificate based authentication system(which is beyond the capabilities of 3dxchat game developers), the game is actually allowing us to authenticate and see if our subscription has expired, which means.............the Authentication server are working fine. 
     
    However, when our connection is diverted to the game servers, that is when the client is presented with a connection error problem. The client in turn starts attempting a loop of connection establishment before the time runs out thereby presenting us with the error message "Connection Lost, Reconnect"
     
    So there you go.........Now, the big question, is California wildfire has anything to do with it? Answer is HELL NO!
     
    You need to understand that when people or say the organizations invest on datacenters to be build at any place, The very first thing which is checked is, if that area comes under the zone of any Natural disasters like earthquakes, Flood, frequent storms etc............they also check if the area is prone to frequent wildfire and what is the possibility of such natural/man made disasters to impact the production or the datacenter facility. That happens to be their first and fore-most point in the agreement which they sign with their customer. Unlike the applications or the infra being hosted on those servers, Datacenters are always equipped with 'High-Availability' solutions. So your assumption that the game went down due to the California wildfire is wrong.
     
    I could write more and explain things in detail but that is out of the scope of this forum and I am sure I will be trolled in the following posts for what I have put in here........but still Knowledge is knowledge.........share if you have it (that is, if you feel like it lol)

    As I brought it up to some people close to me, the current situation might be a case of serious lack of oversight in the management of services.
     
    I wouldn't be even surprised if the devs don't even know that the game servers are down.
     
    Usually when the services are taken down on purpose for maintenance work, patching, whatnot, the Authentication server is also taken down together with it.
    Naturally in these cases often a message is also present on the login page about the disruption of services.
     
    Now... The Authentication server is up and running, the daily XGold is awarded, so on.... which leads me to the conclusion, that the main game server was not actually taken down by them, but it's down because of a different reason.
    The lack of communication might also be a clue that they don't even know what is going on. Of course it really blows my mind that they don't give a fuck if things are running properly, but that might be the case.
    Well eventually someone should restart that god forsaken box, to have us enjoy the services we actually pay for.
     
    Now I do understand if there is a proper explanation for some issue. I also understand that some services we are ENTITLED TO might be unavailable for some time. But I don't understand the lack of transparency, nor the lack of communication in this case, regardless of the devs personal issues. 
     
    I'm not here to "understand" what is going on. I'm not giving the money for explanations, I pay for the results. Yet I am human, and I understand, if there is something to understand. 
    I expect the devs to come up with some apology very soon and include in the same announcement their plans to resolve this problem for everybody.
     
    I seriously never saw such lack of respect towards a community especially in the case of a subscription based service.

    because i'm bored i'll throw this out there........whatever the issue is i highly doubt it is being caused by the update.. i'm not the sharpest it guy out there but it usually takes more the a few minutes to upgrade your production environment when doing a major update. and this must be a major update if they were running a test server. the fact is the servers are up and have never been brought down to update them. how do i know? go try to log on to the test server. log on screen tells you it can't find the server. the server is no longer there. but the regular server is still running.you can sign in, it authenicates your account and then disconnects. that tells me server is running. type a made up email address in and try to sign on. it knows is not a good sign on. to me that all suggests it's not an issue with the update. it also tells me the devs didn't just take the money and run.i could speculate what i think may be going on but that's not really productive. so tomorrow i'll wake and check to see if the game is working. if it isn't there are a few backroads i haven't blasted down in a while and then maybe check out a pool hall or two and maybe hit a bar.
