Do you understand how huge that is?  Naturally, it is not so huge that you can't make any inferences at all. But it does mean that if 50% of your sample answered yes to a particular question, the percentage of people in the entire population who would have answered yes could be anywhere between 33% and 67%. That kind of margin of error might be good enough if you are trying to gauge what flavors of ice cream to market in a particular region. But not if you are trying to gauge whether or not to compromise individual privacy of all users to satisfy the paranoia of a few vociferous ones. 
 
And that is the issue that we keep coming back to here: Are enough people so seriously concerned about alts that it warrants identifying all the alts of all accounts against the wishes of the majority? If you think a margin of error that large is good enough to make that kind of judgment, then I would say that you actually don't understand the first thing about statistics and how they are properly used. 

I'd really like to know what you base that belief on. The guy almost never responds. And in the rare cases that he does, it is an empty promise, like when he said that he would do something about Pandora. There are literally dozens of features that people have asked for constantly the entire four and a half years that I have been here, yet he can't be bothered to implement even the simplest of them, despite the fact that they are available in a certain tweaked dll. 
 
Pandora shows that more than unique 7500 users have logged on over the past ten days.  Even if we assume that all of them bought the Xmas special prepaid card, that still means more than five USD a month from 7500 accounts. So chances are that he is raking in anywhere from 40k to upwards of 100k USD a month in subscription fees. 
 
I used to believe in the Easter bunny, Santa Claus, and true love. But experience has shown me that there are certain beliefs that I should give up, because they don't match reality. So when you say that you believe Gizmo will consider these things, just what on earth are you basing your belief on?

The question the poll asks is a little bit biased.  I doubt that many people like being hugged by random strangers.  I don't like it, but I also don't really mind it.  Often when a stranger does it, it's a teachable moment.  And I hug my friends frequently for a lot of reasons including synchronizing our dancing.  My enjoyment of the game would be hurt by needing to always click "accept" every time one of my friends hugs me.  So, while I'd vote "No" to whether I liked being hugged by random strangers, I suspect the results would be different on a poll that said:
 
Should the "cuddle" animation pop up a consent dialog, the way slowdance does?
 
Sage, I recognize your point of view on this and respect it.  But I'd like that solution even less than only allowing friends to hug.  
 
Maybe the poll should be:
Should we change the cuddle and kiss mechanics?
No.  Leave it the way it is.
Yes. Make it so that only friends can do it.
Yes. Make it so that you have to agree to it.
Yes. Make it so that you have to agree to it, but friends can do it without consent.
 
Sage's point that we're not going to get any of these changes is probably the most salient of all of them, but if this really was the highest priority feature that we wanted Gizmo to work on, then that poll seems like it would give us better information than this one.

I'm curious. (Really.  No hidden agenda here.)  If you walked into Sin Club and some stranger typed:
"Hey Perimede, *hugs*"
 
Would you react the same way as if the same stranger had said, "Hey Perimede" and then clicked the cuddle button?
 
What about if he had instead typed:
"Hey Perimede"
/me Hugs Perimede
 
Do the animations matter more than the words and emotes?

According to https://www.checkmarket.com/sample-size-calculator/, given a population of 15,000 (the 3DX Forum page says 16,589 atm), 2070 responses are necessary to ensure a margin of error of 2% and a confidence level of 95%.  So, yes, given the low number of responses, any conclusions drawn from the results of polls in this Forum are problematic at best.

Personally I think that hugging and kissing should probably be consensual like slow dancing is now, most people don't like having it happen without their consent, and I agree its an invasion of your avi's personal space. But there should be a none consensual way of greeting people if they did change that that I think changing the way the wave works would be the best way to do that. Just make it so the waving avi moves to within a specific distance outside the personal space of the avi they are greeting and waves at them. That should fix this problem completely. 

Hugs from strangers have never bothered me - in fact nor do "colds". In fact, bring back the mass room invites as when I first joined I thought I was popular! Or had been 'chosen'! Come on I'm 37 I need that feeling again!

I think it depends on the context of the hugging. If it feels like its someone greeting me then of course I don't mind or even like it. Is it a single hug or multiple hugs? Do they walk away after hugging me, or just stand around? There that can be awkward. Am I alone or are people I am chatting with or know around me? Is it one of their friends? Really its not such a simple thing to answer. I never really feel like my personal space is invaded by the game, but everyone is different. I am going with no in the poll though.

Statler and Waldorf were funny - it's curious how few trolls mange to pick up and duplicate their sense of timing, irony, use of natty word play, one liners, question and answer word play ........................ basically brilliant humour.
 
Certain trolls on 3dxChat have an awful lot of work to do before they can claim them as anything other than influences that are beyond reach just now.

So now as we are a very united community, we have to find a way to crash the server at a schedule time that will be fine to everybody without creating any issue to anybody ...

Are you serious? Well, I did not say anything about you being banned, so I well refrain from commenting on that. But as far as whether or not you are an alt and whether or not what you have to say is actually the truth, I will say this. You can pretend you are not an alt if you want to, but the truth of the matter is obvious. Despite the fact that you joined this Forum little more than a week ago, you very clearly have knowledge that belies any claim of not being an alt. Moreover, in the course of your maundering, you recently stated that "Over 50% of the women you are having cyber sex with on this game are actually men" and you claimed this statement to be "truth."

But none of us -- not you, not I, not anyone -- know exact percentages. So your assertion is nothing more than your personal opinion and is not supported by factual evidence from an objective and verifiable source. Calling it "truth" does not make it true. 
 
Moreover, watching your behavior on this forum, it becomes obvious that the only thing you intend to contribute to the discussion is to jump in and stir shit. That's baloney. No one is fighting anything tooth and nail. What people are reacting to, and rightfully so, is that the rationale provided for introducing such measures are questionable and the predicted effects are equally dubious. 
 
I would go one step further and say that, if anyone is fighting tooth and nail, it's the ones who just won't accept the fact that the majority of us are unconvinced that anything good would come out of this proposal.
