Go play any game that relies on lootboxes or microtransactions for progression and then come back and make that statement.
I don't pay for this monthly to then be asked to spend more. That's one of the reasons many people are here I'd guess. Precisely because they're not asked to pay even more for customization options. A better idea would be to implement some kind of submission system, and let folks design their own stuff for the developer's approval, and then give it away in updates.

It was disconnecting people intermittently before the reboot. My guess is that the reboot is an effort to fix the problems that were already happening.

they have more ressources, more backups, 2 way authifications also help, but even biggers can suffer from thoses attacks it just harder and longer to put them down, Microsoft did, Sony did, Steam did even Blizzard. no one is really protected. but people still think their's a magic shield that protect against DDOS. reality isn't as simple. bigger servers ? make the attack bigger will get down in the end.

Not really. $15-30 buys a week-long DDoS attack on any number of dark web sites. Sure, you need to know how to access the "dark web", but that's about 5 minutes of Googling. That's all you need to know to get an attack purchased. Giving payment to a shady dark web operator does usually require BitCoin or similar though.
Then the person with access to the scripts on the thousands of infected machines, gets their $, spends a few minutes doing terminal commands on their machine to send instructions out to all those listeners, and voila ... DDoS begins whenever the buyer asked it to start.

Depends? Anytime i've worked with someone who wants something done in a way thats going to screw things up, i lay it all out for them, what can go wrong, what will probably go wrong, and what can be done to get closer to what they want without screwing it all up.....
If they still wanna push their original idea, then yeah, no win situation.
The problem is, we are customers here, we are paying for a service, they have outlined their plan on what they will do to make up for the lack of service, and what they are in the process of doing to restore service. They have fulfilled their end of things.
Would it be nice to have a more concrete timeline? Absolutely.... but frankly, if i was advising them, id tell them not to, because if their wrong and say 24 hours and it takes 28, the tiff fits happening now, will pale in comparison. IF we hit say.... Friday with no more news? Ok, time to get riled up, but barring anyone who knows exactly how many people they have working on this and what all steps are involved working on it speaking up, what we have seen so far is fairly consistent with what was expected for the news they outlined.

No news from the staff means they are still busy to solve the problems, do they have to repeat that every few hours ? if you cant login, its down !
