  1. My latest build is another commissioned work. A mid-sized estate nestled on a remote island. I was asked to work off a picture of a property the person liked. i have posted both for a comparison. still a ways to go but making progress.

    I started work on this project out of boredom and it soon turned into the small room. This was mainly a proof of concept for me so now I share it...feel free to use whatever assets you like.   3. unfortunately for SGD, I'm not sure how they would tell what was made here, since I can make the exact same things in Google Sketchup. Sure using their assets would be a give away, but I don't so....tell me how they would know its their builder and not some other 3D rendering program?
  4. So if I follow your logic: I paint Bob a picture and he hangs it on his wall, and YOU steal it...Bob shouldn't be upset you stole it because he didn't paint it?
  5. My latest commissioned build..it will eventually be Marius' Black Rose Bordello. So I handed over the keys to the bordello tonight. Marius is already opening his room titled, "Black Rose Bordello." Odd to build a room then let it go but I also found it really rewarding. I hope he and his patrons will continue to enjoy it. I will also be making updates to it over the next few weeks, so if you get a chance and see it open stop in and party!

  7. those things you speak of are forms of expression unique to an individual but the creation of a room is no less an expression of who they are and in many cases takes longer and more effort than assembling a collection of music, or promoting and hosting a room. The issue for the game will be that if creative theft becomes rampant enough then all those builders will cease to build and the pretty little editor will sit idle because you are unwilling to provide any protections for those people who are doing your work for you in providing amazing locations.
  8. after reading this...the shaming may not be the best solution but it helped me see that marking my room in many places is the right approach and posting my creations here (not for download). if my name is hidden and screenshots of my rooms are posted it does two things: 1. A record of creation...maybe even incorporate a date on the markers in the room 2. it makes the thief have to wipe the room of that evidence and that will be a chore because I put my name and mark everywhere. Also Sex Game Devil does not own user content if it is created outside the game and then used inside a room. They can think it does but the copyright follows the creation everywhere. Some of the things I put in my rooms I have had for a long time and are copywritten...a US court would not side with them because some of the things I do are actually registered content. Also, if someone replicates a logo of Coca-Cola - the presumption is that the game developers now own that since it was user created. That doesn't hold water so the belief that users have no creative rights is false but then again who has the resources to challenge it? Only if whatever you create is wholly original to the game is it SGD property.
  9. i really am just trying to foster a conversation about protecting those builders who actually create something against the douchebags who inevitably will try to take what they are too lazy or dumb to do themselves. Certainly outing them is the least we can do and as far as proving who did what...my rooms are always painted with my name though you cant always find them. I would suggest all builders mark their turf iun the same way. Certainly finding my name inscribed in a room somewhere should be proof enough to shame them regardless of those who believe it jsut goes too far.

  11. I would propose the developers add an object for selection in the editor that ties the users credentials to it. When placed, the room can only be edited or hosted by the user who placed that marker or key. Visitors will still enter the same way if the room is made public, but only the creator can host or edit it. If I remove the key, then I can give the asset or room to whoever, and they can open it or edit it. This is a simple coded object that is tied to my account.
  12. My suggestion for anyone who steals an asset or a room should be shamed by the the community. We can come up with lots of ways to do that, but here are a few: Fill their inbox with admonishments find every post they have made and comment on their post that's they are in fact a fucking thief Announce their criminality on World Chat and in the rooms they steal Community exile by having as many people as possible ignore them - if they cant see the room its harder to know what file to harvestMore suggestions would be great...anything to mark these people as living, breathing assholes.
  13. The idea that by stealing someone's work and effort is not theft is delusional at best. If I stole a Rembrandt or a Picasso is it theft? of course. To many builders, they are pouring their creativity and time in to these places. Time equals money as the old adage goes, so by taking it...you are a fucking thief of the fruits of someone's labor. in the old days, youd be taken out back and shot....gawd I wish it was the old days.
  14. I think more functionality would be good. WASD movement mixed with the ability to tap into all the Unity Engine can do would be great. The World Editor sort of takes the game beyond just a social and sexual experience. Interactivity to a greater degree would be ideal.
  15. I have opened a room where at least 1-2 nights per week Id like to have live music. Id would like someone who can provide dance music but not necessarily all EDM. A stream will work too if thats possible especially if scheduling is an issue...All credit will be given and DJ will be advertised on billboard in room. Thanks

  17. I would like to see a multi object merge also. Statis trees to reduce load would be a good thing too...the wind isnt always blowing
  18. I saw a post that the world editor can be used as a pose editor. Having a little experience in this I will say that poses are much more complex than static buildings. Usually animations are built in programs like 3DMax and Blender and the learns curve is steep. I don't think we will see a pose editor anytime soon for more reasons the the one I listed here.
  19. I think thats a great idea and not just because my room is being highlighted. I would have to remake the NC and send it to Tanya because though the regular room is dead...her room based on the NC still generates a ton of traffic. I totally agree with the Saloon going away. Always seemed like something just thrown out there. Everything about it is bad.
  20. This is good advice. I will say that if you build big, then create a central meeting place or focal point. Also, when placing you spawn point, the temptation is to put it at one end and have the player walk to other end or focal point. The point was made that they will poof if it takes too long to get to other people. This is all too true. I usually place it close to the focal point. This allows visitors to congregate and gives them option of exploring the rest of the build. .

  22. It does share a few simiarities to Pompeii but Herculaneum and other smaller Roman towns were destroyed when Vesuvius erupted also. I wanted to go with a theme and Roman history fascinates me. I will keep developing it to see where it goes.
  23. I started a small Roman Bath and have expanded my build to be a small village with a volcano. I open the room as Futa Baths but the place is called Thermae Peccatum which translated means "Sinful Baths."
