Hey Dande  :)

Rap ( Rapping ) is actually an art form that is part of the Hip-Hop culture. You add to that, DJing, MCing, Graffiti Artists, Breaking, Beatbox, Sampling and you get the end result, the " Hip Hop " culture as a whole.  So technically, Rappers are all Hip-Hop artists but not all Rappers are good at MCing but that's another story hehe.    ;)

As whole orgin story it is right, but as for music it was quite a long time ago that RAP and Hip - Hop were devided as diferent genres of music, and they are very diferent :)

The divide continues. Some consider Hip Hop a watered down version of rap. Why? Because it has samples of different music. As for Hip Hop today, a lot of it seems like pop, so it gives credence to that argument. "Rap is something you do. Hip Hop is something you live." KRS1

It seems to me that rap was not so commercial, hip hop has fused with rap and has become an entirely different culture. Within that culture you have rap artist and hip hop artist. You just have to look beneath the surface. So I leave you with:
