    Dear @Gizmo,

let me see if I get this right: The poll for the pose editor was on March, 24th in 2018, 5 years ago and now it is still too early to speak about it? Over a year later, on Septemer, 1st in 2019 you still wrote about this feature and suddenly it is too early? Really that?

Poll for the pose editor: https://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/6540-pose-editor/
Mentioning of the pose editor again: https://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/9070-what-is-ghost-partner-from-mods/&do=findComment&comment=351842
Instead of getting the pose editor done, we suddenly have been informed about work on customizable clothes is in progress and we would be kept updated. This was on June, 15th in 2019. Without any notice we never heard of it again until now, then you suddenly mention some vague higher priorities that stopped the work. Only after more than 3 years some vague statement? Again: Really that?

    Work in progress:

I am sorry, but this all looks like Xaufin is correct: There have been some enthusiastic statements but than you found it all beyond your possibilities and skills but instead to say "sorry, I cannot do it" we hear some vague words about "time not come yet" and "higher priorities" after years. Explicit not answering does not change the fact these features have been mentioned and we never got any status information.

On December, 22th 2022 you informed about holidays but then work on bugfixes. Well okay, we all have holidays. But on February, 24th 2023 you already wrote in your answer for me, the Unity engine upgrade was almost done. Almost done in just 2 month, great! But now in May, again 2 month later all is suddenly back to the normal silence, no more information, not any visible outcome. I really would expect, when after 2 monthe something is nearly done, that after 4 month there is an visible result r information.

Maybe this helps you to understand why the reliability of your company is not given anymore: Again we are left alone without any reasonable news about when the update will come, again we are left alone with all the bugs which make virtual community living in 3DXChat more and more impossible and leave the field to the ones who just need some quick animation for masturbation. - Maybe this is all you need for your income but the social users paid too and they got promises of an update with bug fixes which means they payed for what you promised, bug fixes as well as features! But it is all back to silence now. Why? I assume you ran into trouble an the bug fixes are hard, because of the given structure of the software but anyway, they have been promised. So, when after 2 month there was the developer blog, why is there no more information after next 2 month?

    Dear @Gizmo,

This all sounds reasonable and like being on a good way, that's out of question.
Anyway, my concerns if we ever see some of the improvements in the near future are high as ever. I think you are aware of the long ago pose editor survey and that there was a new clothing system, with for instance adjustable length of pants, which was never mentioned again. If needed I can provide links or screens, it was here in the 3DXChat forum.
So without a concrete roadmap I am afraid I am reading just another declaration of intent. I am sorry to say so, because I think in the end you all are of goodwill and I have plausible guesses why features have not been implemented and these would be reasons I understand very well, but the communication still lacks and therefore my doubts stay.
So I kindly would like to ask some question, please:
When do you expect the migration to the newer version of the unity engine to be finished? What are the main feature people asked for and which of them do you plan to implement and when? Did the users really asked for drinks and food consumption, the feature you propagate in this blog entry? Can you please publish the resulst of the survey? Of course some whishes are dreams and you cannot fullfill them but anyway it would be very interesting to see them. Which have been the most reported bugs and which ones will be fixed? It does not really help with the existing, at times really annoying bugs, when bugs caused by the migration to the newer unity version are reported to be fixed. What is with the bugs reported for the current system, please? Why is the development not forked regarding to continue to upgrade all clothes to the new material system? Female avatars still stay without any customizable panties. Kind regards

You are correct that it is a challenging task. But I will not comment on the Pose Editor in any way. Roadmap is something different from what we would like to use. We will now write about development and our plans on this blog.

I will not comment on the pose editor at this time. The time has not yet come.
I understand what you mean by "there was a new clothing system, with for instance adjustable length of pants". Our research on this system has been put on hold due to higher priorities. We may revisit the idea later. But there is no development in that direction at the moment.
Thank you for your questions. I am happy to answer them.
The migration to the new version of the Unity engine is almost complete. As I said, some systems were broken due to incompatibilities, and we had to fix everything. The beer-drinking system was utterly broken, and we could either remove it from the game entirely or rebuild it from scratch. We chose the latter and rebuilt the system from scratch, improving and expanding it considerably. It is much closer to our original idea of a food and drink system in the game. The top 3 features that players are asking for are "Additional Sex Poses", "Avatar setting improvements", "Additional Clothes". We plan to add all of these as we develop. We will happily share the survey results with the community as soon as all the results have been finalized. NoirDesire, as the organizer of this independent survey, is kindly helping us to process the results. We appreciate and thank her for her help. So let's be patient and respect her work and time. As soon as the results are ready, we will publish them.
Our initiative was to set up a food and drink consumption system. As the authors and owners of the 3DXChat project, we wanted to add such mechanics to the game. We hope this new mechanic will be to the liking of most players. I would like to mention the players' idea to have the deducted funds from buying food and drinks go to the host room account. It's an exciting idea, and we'll probably revisit it. The top 3 bugs are "Sync Bug", "Naked/Bald Avatar", "Disconnections"
Also, about 90% of the bugs are related to the networking part of the codebase. We have a lot of work to do on refactoring and improving the network part. This will allow us to get rid of 90% of the bugs. We are planning to switch all clothes to the new material system. It will take some time to do this.
Why did we decide to move to a new version of the Unity engine first? First of all, the current 2018 version of the engine is already outdated. Secondly, we want to develop the game using all the new engine's features. Finally, Unity has fixed many bugs and optimized the engine. Players will be able to use a more stable client while we work on the network bugs.
The transition to the new Unity is a necessary step and an essential preparation for the next significant bug-fixing effort.
  8. Thanks
Feuermond reacted to Gizmo in 3DXChat Development Update 1
I don't think you should speak for the 99% of players and use "we" instead of "I".
The survey was independent and open to all. We received a large number of different opinions and would like to highlight the most desired ones.
I would also like to ask all participants to maintain a respectful tone in their comments.

Keep your drinks and food and let me color my hats first! It's ridiculous that something so simple as being able to color everything is not being added. How many years do I have to wait to wear a fucking black hat or pink hat if I want to? Who are you fooling with these surveys? I am willing to bet nobody asked for this food and drinks as the priority in this game when there aren't even enough clothes to make a unique look. How about the ability to layer clothes on top of each other? or adding the material system to all the existing clothes? Even the rip off's have better customization than the original game.

The Number one issue for tha majority of Players were the DeSync issues. ie people seeing different things, people walking into walls who are not actually walking into a wall but on the Dance floor Dancing. People you cant see in a room who are there and it requires restarting the game or re entering a Room a number of times to see them. Then they are Bald and nakid which requires another restart. Walking through a crowded room successfully only to be pmed by some angry person that youve been walking into them for tha last 10 mins when in actual fact youre on the Dance floor having fun. This has been happening for Years and hence the reason it has topped this so called Survey has shown. We are tired of it. I say we as shown from the Survey, it ranked as the top problem. All these little addons are nice n all but no one asked for them. Hoping the major problems are addressed, if not then i can only imagine people looking elsewhere. We have been patient, we have asked many many times the right thing to do is fix these issues. Im sure if you focus you can do it, i have faith in you ah do ah do.

These are all cute ...but what about all the initial bugs that have been there for 5 yrs and more ...like the disconnects ...the bald and naked avatars...the missing friend lists...the water levels that were messed up in the builder 2 updates ago ? When are these going to be fixed ? If ever or do you just keep candy coating them with stuff we dont really need ?

    Good
+ Adding to the beverage/food system
+ Communicating progress and goals to players
    + More features and stability

    Needs Work
    - Tons of small bugs (can't read colors in World Editor, for example)
    - Some new features feel low priority or wasteful, things nobody is asking for
    - Overwhelming majority ask for improvements to male avatars (clothes, dick stuff)
    - Gold from beer/items disappears, maybe a percent could be donated to the room owner instead to support their cost of running rooms

    Suggestions
    - Explain that the devs working on the new animations and ice cream cones (artists) are not the same ones doing bugs and features (coders). Who is doing what?
    - Announce that the custom pose editor is never going to happen because it is beyond the team's abilities. Too complex.
    - Make a public roadmap of plans? Players would know what to expect and when.
