That said, you may be misunderstanding the purpose of the app ( or I suck at clear communication of the use case. The purpose of this application is not to communicate outside 3dx. The purpose is to provide an extension of the current 3dx PM platform and make it available to sign in from a mobile device. This would allow people who have friends that are online in the game to send a message from a mobile app and the online user receive the message in game just as a “normal” PM appears now.

Yes discord provides a method for two people to message each other. It also means that the user that is actively playing in 3dxchat must now be logged into discord as well and be monitoring that platform for messages. The user experience in that scenario leaves a lot to be desired.

Hi Alivia, hope your well. The use case is to provide users with the ability to communicate directly with their online “friends list” In the event they can not be in front of a computer and logged in to 3dxchat. For example I know a group of my friends almost always gets on at 5pm every Friday. If I have something I have or need to do that will keep me from logging in to the game it would at least be nice to participate in the conversation with them.

As I read over the posts from the start of this event to now, it appears pretty clear that there is a growing number of people that have become a bit sour and critical of the dev team/staff in general, warranted or not. I have not been here long enough to understand the history of feature/functionality releases and what was or was not in each iteration to weigh in on the matter. That said, would you really stand in front of this firing squad and give a “best guess” response? I agree that a customer facing update should be given at predetermined intervals stating very simply: 1. if they have or have not identified the problem. 2. If they have or do not have a solution, and if it’s temp or permanent. 3. Is the fix currently in testing or has been validated. once Service is restored the dev team can then put out a customer facing root cause analysis explaining the root cause and what steps are being taken to mitigate future service interruptions. Its clear that there are historical conversations that both sides have differing perspectives about which resulted in trust lost between customer and devs. I think both sides would benefit from defining a process for service interruptions. This will one, manage expectations on both sides and secondly provide a measuring tool for time to resolution metrics. If we talk about solutions moving forward and both sides agree there has been or effort to improve. We can the. Address the large issues in the room without pointing fingers. I thought about The issue of random people walking up and cuming on someone. To address this issue, like other poses the users should have to send a permission message and the recipient would have to accept that message in order for the action to occur just like accepting a pose.

I would like to see a feature (and maybe it already exists) for a user who is not logged in to 3dxchat, directly in game, to be able send and receive PMs from some sort of chat application with active on line users. This would show to the active user just as an in game PM. If you need more clarity just ask and I’ll do my best. I know a lot use discord but that requires an active user in 3dx to be logged into and monitor 2 platforms.
