Was gonna suggest may a hide from friends option working same way as ignore till it was un-clicked, but then again that would just add to problem since stealth would help those living a "double life" also. Think in end you probably can't fix this less we all agree to sacrifice something, if its more transparency or its ability to have privacy with a special someone or what else.

Only thing i can really think of li believe i mentioned before that might reduce the extend of the problem(without restricting having alts to much or alt privacy), would simply be to make it cost Xgold to delete and remake new avatars. (As most those who are the "trouble" elements are likely very good at burning bridges for themselves, my guess is they need to rely on making new alts all time. If that become to costly for them it will become difficult for them to continue even on new accounts.

This option would still allow keeping alts, doesn't really call any them out but it does make it harder when they're found out to just make a new avatar constantly to continue.

Its not a perfect fix as it would limit role-players options to make new character, but you can argue they can still do that under same name with current avatar.

I was hosting a party and someone was saying how they felt under dressed and we talked about clothes and stuff for a little and i though that it would be cool if there was an option to save outfits so you can quick change for different situations (ie fancy party clothes, comfy home clothes, wild party clothes, etc.)

dont know if this has already been thought of or posted about just thought id get my idea out there

There are one for instance is its for most common understanding that you don't cold invite (for those not familiar with the term means, then its inviting you into social interactions like partnering, dances or friends without prior initiating in dialogue first). Then from majority i meet at least its a strong dislike and most cases earn either a temporary or permanent ignore from a player.

Then i am sure there some which might be more debatable to what extend they exist, things like expectation your profiles at least say some bout yourself or your avatar, that i imagine a few but that's just my guessing expect you to change avatar a bit from the default and so forth.

EDIT: Think a lot expect newcomers to know or find these things out very fast or they get frozen out a lot the times, not really sure if its something that can be done something bout. Guess one idea at least for newcomers might be to introduce them to the term cold invite during their tutorials so they at least don't have to learn it as brutally as some do.

Another option adding pm to friend list options might also contributed to many just hanging out with friends, then occasionally adding new friends as they PM them and they hit it off together. Much like how it was in second life.

Second life also had a great deal of newbie snobbery, that there were some unwritten rules/qualities you as newcomer had to learn/acquire in order to be given the time of day. Imagine that is start to eventually come here too if it has not already, meaning that most new people would need to learn and adapt fast or be given a cold shoulder.

Think this might largely be due to few individuals which made really bad impressions on behalf of majority of the rest, so that finger is closer to the ignore button than a smile. Its a bit sad bit i think its adding to a cold climate where its hard to socialize, creating a bit of a bad circle as many new people who don't know these unwritten rules would probably a lot them feel unwelcome. In return once they earn their place feed on the problem by saying they had it tough so other newcomers have to eat through the tough love too, in order to find the green pastures.

Sadly this is often been the disease of places like second life, but also lots of mmorpgs and various other online social products.

No doubt its making its way slowly here too..

Dunno if making a premium option that lets you have more alts gonna be doing anyone any favors, especially since a lot would want to get that anyways if it has additional customization options and content. So you'd still have alts around then.

If you really want to reduce alt problems then you probably need either; to entirely remove option for more than one character at a time.
Alternatively like some said before make and ID for account you pick a name for account ID that sticks, then maybe also ontop add limit the amount of times you can change characters during one day, Limit rolling/making/recreating a new avatar to a once par day or week basis(last would make sense since why would need to make a new avatar more than once a week if not once a month arguebly).

Another option could be keeping things as they are, let you create up to three avatar like now. But each time you delete one you have to pay maybe 10-20k Xgold to unlock the slot again to make a new avatar in deleted empty character slot. (Or if you wanna go all in brutal make it start at 10k then star to go up or double from there, it would make restarting a new avatar possible, but make remaking new avatars all time a extremely expensive enterprise. That should limit abuse quite a bit)

That would make being on alts regularly difficult without extra accounts, but again its always tricky to say what kind of reception such changes will receive by users out there.

Well not sure if it helps really but know way another place dealt with exploits and such was to ban those involve from that feature, without removing them from the game itself. In world chat cases that would just mean blocking them from world chat function as disciplinary action without having to lose a customer from banning them from game itself.

How bout just making a option in the tab options or in settings where you can disable it on the user, then those who are bothered by it can click it on and it would look like the non html world used to for them. Personally i am glad its back the html text can both help for Role-playing and it also makes chat look less dull.

Just don't get what problem it solves that ignore(account wide) doesn't? Plus a mandatory shared friend list will give as much tools for abuse like stalking etc. If you're adding new friends on good faith, but then again if we don't everyone in here would have really short list of really close friends. Not sure exactly how that would be a beneficial development for a social game.

EDIT: Another thing for those using several accounts to avoid ignore effects, developer could look into ignore stretching to account paid through same payment account. So they follow over to those account too in majority of cases.

That would be the same problem, indeed.
When we are in trouble, we should just ignore the person. Not restrain everyone's liberty.

To be honest i rather have it be a option you can choose to share friends with a click on in settings or something across accounts, think making it a forced option will just give a powerful tool to any stalkers or drama instigators.

Can't say i am personally into BDSM or rough stuff RP, but i meet quite a few into BDSM some them into roleplaying also so sure you should be able to have some luck with that. Would try check out some the BDSM user rooms but also Sin Club as a lot of roleplayers come there also.
