Global ignore and telegrams

So i'm sitting here lip locked to my afk hunney and was musing...

(I know, Oh Boy!   )

I'm happy with the new (@ 11/20 aprox 1700 UTC) ignore system.

 

And i like the ignore messages

 

And sometimes i would like to ignore them from everyone except the ones i am with ! (Sowwy    but that is the way i am)

 

So i was wondering if there might be a way to have a 'global ignore' that would block everyone except those you are allready in pm or group with.

 

It would come with an indicator on our profiles saying that we were being misanthropic jerks 

 

This might be aided by a 'Telegraph system' which would function to send shot messages to people who are not available, either not on or on Global ignore.  Telegraph would maybe be free up to a certain number of characters or might cost as much as a beer.  We might have a certain amount of storage for messages and have to buy more if we have alot of people who talk too much in our lives 

 

Anyway if you would come to the beach and talk to me while Hunney is afk i would not muse and you would not have to read these silly posts!

in fact i will personaly see a more wider system like that, i will love a wide checkbox option for each "refuse message" (with a option to let a auto answer msg or not), "refuse invite", "refuse friend", "refuse partner"

 

no cold invite/friend/partner request when we dont want it, no PM when we dont want to be bothered by someone etc... will so love that ^^

There is yet one ignore option that ignore everyone exept the ones you are in group with .

 

1- Open a group chat

2- dont change your chat tab even when you receive some pms , like this you ignore everyone exept the group members

I would definitely support a function like this.  A "Do Not Disturb" mode if you will, and some form of indication on the profile for friends to understand you are in this mode.  The best method is to make it so that only world/local/group chat can be seen by you.  PMs are automatically ignored, maybe with an auto-reply message that tells them your in "Do Not Disturb" mode.  That way you can enjoy some time with only those friends you are in a room with and not be bothered by a million PM tabs or invites popping up every 30 seconds.

 

Anyway, great idea Dee.  That's a feature I'd definitely support.  Not that I don't love my friends and enjoy hearing from them, but sometimes I just want to sit in my room and listen to music, or be with specific people without distraction.

 

Another idea is to have an "Away" mode also that you can set when you're AFK so friends will receive a similar auto-reply message telling them you've stepped away, though this one would allow them to still leave their messages so you can read them when you get back.

I have always thought a -Do Not Disturb- sign hung on the doorknob of your dialogue box would be a great idea.

OMG!!!, ok people, I am not clear on this new system,THING! !! Someone please explain exactly how it works?.perhaps I am completely lost on it,????..so if this is the case I apoligize..lol.I like the ignore button idea to a point and unwanted cold invites,now those should definitely need an ignore and block, but omg, is this meaning Ignore all unwanted Pms, Or should I rephrase all Pms?, So initially, one can block all people if they want, or friends, or anyone else in the room that is not in your group conversation,or who walks in and is not in one's Group combo?, wow come on!!!!..in that case how the hell can one meet new peeps, and intermingle in other circles easier, especially for newbies.. I hope this don't further minimize the outside local chat,and reduce the local conversation anymore then it is allready become now..This is a social,sex, chat game, to meet ,socialize and enjoy new fun people, to explore eachother. I hope that this game does not turn into just personal Pms,or reduced and a outright loss of social greetings from people you may know, or not know, that just would like to chat, make new friends and have a legitimate goodtime..Damn!!! it allready makes me annoyed that at times I come on, Hit some places, that can be half full, and speak and talk to myself and the walls for 10 minutes before someone decides to join in the local chat and join in on the fun.I loved the local social togetherness that would draw peeps from differnt places, groups and backgrounds to a fun , creative interstingly exciting climax..lol..I know alot of the times , when a fairly busy place like sinn and such is quiet, it is usually because either people are in Pms, which I get,or Afked.. But now, I fear it may be worse if we can virtually ignore and block all Pms that are coming in,which of course I can understand in some situations.. But to be just exclusive to only some or a few, and perhaps just only your group and to totally ignore the rest of the friendly chatter that maybe coming to you, or someone trying to get your attention, and all they are getting back, from there friend,or another is nothing...Wow,then besides the sex, this is not the same fun, crazy, wild (SOCIAL).game I originally over 2 years ago signed up for and Joined....And now, wow,I'm seriously rethinking of opting out ,and not renewing my subscription.

I strongly disagree with this... I don't want messaging to have any cost at all. Offline messages should be absolutely free of charge.

 

This game already makes enough money from the subscriptions... I don't want to pay for offline messaging!

 

The whole concept is that you pay for your subscription and you get everything for free in-game and I love this concept compared to other similar games. If things suddenly start costing money, the concept is lost.

It's good to know and understand how U are!

I strongly support your idea, as sometimes we really need some kinda intimacy, witout being disturbed!    I also support the idea of offline pm. I think the storage for the messages could cost some Xgolds when the messages kept begin to be many (over than 50 maybe?).

George i agree.  A certain basic amount should be free i was just looking to limit it some how.  People, myself included (oh boy   ), talk too much! 

And this is a biz, so they like to make money

 

and putting a price on a message at a certain point might make it more meaningful.

 

And i don't want another place where my mail stacks up waiting to be read!

How about a way to set a status to yourself as...   Available, AFK, or Do Not Disturb...   then your name above your head and in everyone's friends list would be color coded to match your status.

Available = green 
AFK = orange
Do not Disturb = red.

I can't see this whole discussion about ignoring system....

 

I know there are some dumbnuts stalking around and really nerving BUT this game is about community. When I started you really seldom ignored someone. You just did it if someone really stalked you or repeatedly cold called you. People you liked you added in your friendlist, people you don't liked you just passed by - without hitting the ignore button. And tell you what it worked! We had busy local chats in almost all public places and rooms....We  HAD a community with all its advantages and disadvantages.

 

Now - when I'm strolling around - almost every local chat is quiet. People are afraid to contact other people (except of the always remaining dumbnuts ;-)). And you all are asking about even more powerful ignore systems!? In the end it will have wide effects on this game: Even smaller groups of people, becomming even harder to get to know new people and even more people who will stand aside just because they don't want to be possessed (I use this word in full awareness of its meaning) by a sub-community.

 

So if you want to spend sometime just with your friends, why don't you just open a room for your friends? Why do you try to own the whole world of 3dx Chat????

And i don't know why people get bent about a simple request for some functionality. 

 

It's not going to happen, i was just having some fun while i was on the beach and my gf was afk.

 

 

Sometimes friends don't know when you want alone time.  I think they would appreciate knowing when there presence was welcome and when we would like to be alone. maybe i am wrong but i have gotten that impression.  Some way of letting them know this would be harmless.  

 

And a way of communication in game with people who are absent, that does not involve the limited and relatively expensive method of gift messaging does not seem to be to wild a thing.

 

I don't think it is reasonable to expect people to only seek alone moments in their private rooms.  And i don't see how you get the idea from this that i'm trying to own the whole world of 3dx chat? 

 

Why do you feel the need to get upset by a simple, silly request?  Are there not enough drama centered threads on the forum?

 

Andy fyi, i have zero people on my ignore list, 234 people on my friends list and talk in local all the time.      This is a community to me.

MICHELANGELO, I totally agree with you, I can't add any more responses on my post because the Devs blocked it.So in my view in my post, In which I did write on my IPhone. .lol. .I agree it is a bad thing, for this game, Enought block and ways to not socialize, I am going to say this, I will fight it, argue it until I am blue in the face and kicked out of this game, if it comes to that, I can't go from a social game to anything quieter and less social that it is be becoming. .I am sad if this block system comes about..To block all new people, avoid meeting others, or not have that ability because blocked, or walking in a room with many in a group conversating, and to have no means to get into the social conversation, is like taking away the right to speak, or listen, yes it has some good points, but mostly bad when it comes to furthering the social enviroment in this game. I know random Pms are annoying, but wow that's about it,we still atleast can click on the box and see who it is Pming us, and have the choice who I want to chat with and when. But to have the ability to out right block a message to each other , and never get it, is wrong, takes away someone's sociability, This is not what I signed up for over two years ago. ..I think they need to have an option perhaps to have Pms less intrusive, if you want to see who pmed you , one can look, and if not just turn your pm system off, but ignoring all other friendly chatter, by blocking and avoiding message from them in the first place makes me Incredibly Angry , aND all most sick to my stomach..NO TO BLOCK PMS, yes to make them less intrusive. .Thankyou.

1/ disable all visual and sound notifications for all channels you don't want.

2/ if your pm tabs are set to the left side, move your chatbox completely to the left and you won't see any incoming pms. (if they are set to the right side, move chatbox completely to the right)

if that the case, i thinks you misunderstand that ppl realy want, i agree that the choice of word (like "ignore" in the title) of some was bad and can be confusing ^^

 

ppl not realy want to ignore all other ppl, that they want is a way to be untroubled when they want some time for themself, like if they are in private with someone, i can totaly be for a option that can give that : like a option to auto respon all incomming PM with a made-up message we made, that better to auto send a "i'm busy right now sorry" than get a lot of "why did you give me the cold shoulder the other time" later ^^, maybe configurable statue free/busy/afk can be a good one to ^^

 

and with the same idea in mind, i would be totaly for option like :

[checkbox] refuse partner by default

 

because cold invite are not a way to socialise =), and can be annoying

Well that may help Shanti,lol.But a block miss Shanti, should never be an option, Afked Button, and other options one can do, and still be able to see, communicate, and read others intentions of communicating, we need to expand on the sociability, encourage it ,make it flourish.We for sure do not want to decrease it and out of all political correctness, completely take it out or block it and destroy it, with a block ignore system, with no real means to express,communicate and receive others when in this mode. So yes again to lowering the intrusivess of a bunch of Pms, but no to turning this game into a damn political correctness side show.. So people come on now, it needs tweeking but not blocking, we need less rooms and enviroments that seem to be turning into zombie places with little to no communication allready, so if you don't like Pms, well just ignore them. Because some don't mind them, provided they are positive of course, and I for one am a social animal, and allways love too meet new player's, but yes if one chooses perhaps they can disengage the pm system, I hope have the option of a do not disturb button, as well as a Afk, and when back, or you want to turn it back on , you can get the Pms that have been sent. I THINK this would work, but NO WAY!! Do any type of block system, and especially a group block, ..If one just wants there own privacy then they should go to there rooms, and have it and put up a damn do not disturb sign..SO NO WAY to a block system thankyou..

I Want some feedback, I think we do not need a global blocking system!!!! which will reduce social ability, but something else, less extreme, perhaps like a do not disturb, a system to turn off all incoming Pms, and when we turn it back on we can freely get Pms again, and see the messages have been sent. THIS would give the player that is trying to contact the Do not disturb player a sign that they are busy and you can leave a message.SO when now the player wants to return back into the social world again and return, they can turn it back on, and freely use it, socialize with it, and be social with the ret of the 3dxchat world.Also with this idea if they just want there own space and no other communication, they can turn on the do not disturb button, or color thar represents it, and when the person gets out of this mode, they again can be contacted..It would let other users know why someone is there and not responding, another button that helps in all this, and one that many have ask for for months is a Afk Button, to know and acknowledge someone is away,which would help. I LOVE this game, and love the social ability of it, so please let's not introduce all out blocking of communication whether wanted or unwanted, but instead tweek it to fit without ruining and further depleting the fun sociability of our once amazing game and community. ..

Some time ago I suggested a very simple system of colour coding of avi names to indicate whether a player was busy in a PM, afk or free to talk. Such a system would be fairly simple to achieve, though my coding knowledge doesn't extend to gaming.

 

However this is separate from the global block which is absolutely necessary. It could, however, work effectively alongside.

Well I don't see why we need the extremes of global block, what exactly do you mean by this, blocking the whole world out except a chosen few? ,what? , are you one that does not like the amazing g intersting social enviroment that this game has created?, global block feels way to permanent, and Anything that breeds further seperating and ignorance of meeting new people,and a ever increasing realm of quieter areas in the game, in my views would further damage it, and destroy it.....I am not buying we need this when we should have ways to control it ourselves, why should those who enjoy the other side of it be made to suffer..
