    Absolute presents

fun festivities as we celebrate not one, but two

    "original six" bargie's birthdays.

    So come help us celebrate

    Rhets and LoriDs birthdays

    Absolute style.

(No, that is nothing like Gangnam style, but if we get enough alcohol in Rhet, you might get lucky!)

Four hours of classic rock, hard rock and whatever these two request for the night.

Stop by, bring your well wishes and plan on having a great night with two of the best people we know in Absolute.

    July 2nd at 9pm EST

We are going to do something simple, yet perhaps not so simple.
I bring you a continuing "series" to Little Friday.
    Alphabet Rock at Absolute
When there isn't a special event or music series specifically at Absolute, we are going to tackle rock, in alphabetical order.
Hard rock and heavy metal bands that begin with a specific letter of the alphabet.

    Continuing on with the alphabet...
    B's
So, dig deep, put your thinking brains in (that would be opposite of the "getting laid" brain)
and bring your requests from the hard rock and heavy metal bands beginning with a B.

    See you at Little Friday.

I find your comment very interesting. First, because you are generalizing, as most in this thread have, to what DJs are and are not. Sure, I agree with your statement that 99.3% of the music shared in 3Dx is not created by the individual that delivers it. There has been exceptions to this. I, myself have "mashed" a few songs, creating a new "dish" (using your waiters to cooks reference) and even creating my own music track to underlie when I voice. Know your facts before you brand an entire population as one thing.

Second, again you generalize in stating that a DJ isn't creative. Yes, there are people out there that just toss music into a list without much thought or creativity, but there are many others that take the time, hours if not days to formulate a well crafted list of music, based on a theme, and in some cases, create graphics and posts to coincide with the event, as well as possible reflections in their room to add to the ambiance. That doesn't include the possible voicing, engaging those in the room to keep the energy flowing, insuring that anyone in attendance will not only enjoy the room, but enjoy the community that they are experiencing in that moment.

Delivering music to such a varied group of people takes more than just pushing song after song in a playlist, so to everyone's merit, small pieces of their comments in this thread are valid. But come on, how much can we take a topic, that most of us agree is not relevant to what someone labels themselves, and just enjoy the experience that comes from it?

On a personal note, I really don't care if people come to Absolute and think I am just a "waiter". I enjoy what I do for my own reasons. I am not here to change your perceptions of definitions in the English language. I am here to share hard rock and metal. I am here to educate about music. I am here to hopefully entice you to enjoy the community and the experience, when it is all said and done.

So... be and let be, for fracks sake.
Stop trying to put people in boxes or toss labels onto them.

I am going to "be" over here, being the best version of me, doing what I love, regardless of your labels.

It has been a long time coming. It is time to Hit the Lights.

    Absolute Concert Series presents

The Four Horsemen (in various forms), in all their glory

(which basically means up to the black album).

Am I Evil for thinking the best Metallica IS their early years? I have No Remorse in that thought.

If you disagree, we will take a Crash Course in Brain Surgery, skip the Anesthesia, and remedy that mindset.

Although, I may be The Unforgiven, The Struggle Within is Sad But True,

we will be covering up to the Metallica album, as Nothing Else Matters.

Think me Stone Cold Crazy, but Don't Tread on Me...

Join me on June 13th at 9pm EST, as we do a little Damage, Inc in Absolute.

Welcome Home (Sanitarium), your Frayed Ends of Sanity will be soothed, your Blackened soul appeased.

For Whom the Bells Tolls, your time has come.

    *Fade to Black*

Anyone that has ever been to Absolute, knows that I have an affinity for good cover songs.
It is more than just finding a cover. It is finding one that suits the establishment, the genres, and the mood.

It is time to take this cover business to a whole new level,
with an entire set dedicated to bands who know how to take a good song and make it harder.

There will be some compare and contrast. There will be some "what the fracks?".
You might love them. There might be some that you feel the original is superior.

You will have to be at this week's Little Friday to have the experience and find out for yourself.

Under the covers. A whole new way to listen to music.
*Due to summer, starting an hour later at 9pm est.
