lol didn't expect a linux vs. whatever discussion to emerge just one thing: what we're currently seeing is a radical move towards browser based applications. HTML5, CSS3, WebSockets on the one hand and WebGL on the other hand is what will mean an end to most "classical" desktop applications, including games (and desktop operating systems). The browsers are already becoming the cornerstone of anything we do with a computer. So you may laugh at any "(old) desktop operating system", because they're all doomed. At the bottom line, with almost unlimited Internet bandwidth, the IT industry is reinventing the old mainframe idea on a global scale. For the time being: use what you are happy with and what causes you as little headache as possible.

and, as a side note, a pity that it is not shipped natively for Mac & Linux as well ... but given the current pace of development, not too surprising either.

and the same goes for slackware. Like previously, works fine on my laptop with either Intel IGP (slower than with 2.0) and discreet NVidia GPU (ok)

Slightly off topic: tried yesterday to make it work with my HTC Vive using the Revive compat layer, unfortunately to no avail. Not complaining, because the Vive is out of the devs' scope for now, still a pity ... I agree, VR can do magic for a game like this, but only if properly implemented and supported by for the major VR devices.

Like that story Vayen ... pretty much what I've been experiencing, too. You arrive here, thinking it's "only a game", play for some time and begin to literally "feel" the game. You make and meet friends, eventually, no matter if you want it to happen or not, you fall in love with someone. You get hurt, you hurt ... you are sad. Until you meet someone who brightens up your day again ... and all that from a "game only" Occasionally, like now with me, it's also good thing to take a little break from game, because it can get "too real" as well

well maybe I indeed did not understand you right: how can you hate something when it allows you to hang out with your friends? Only because the pixel sex doesn't receive more frequent updates? I mean, "hate" is quite a strong emotion and no one forces you to meet your friends in game, why not meet somewhere else, like even here in the free forum?

You only get the MasterCard once you have added some funds to your account (not sure how much it is, but IIRC it was like EUR 50 or 100). The MasterCard is tightly bound to your account and you cannot spend more than you have on your account. Setting this up for 3DX only may sound like a little bit too much, but what you essentially get is a free German bank account plus a free credit card that you can use world wide. The bank itself is relatively new, but being located in Germany, it is covered by all EU regulations, including protection against bankruptcy. As an online only bank they operate in the entire European Union, so Poland would (probably) just work. In order to get such an account, you have to prove your identity and this is all done by a video phone call. You have to show them a valid ID card, the verify it's validity and compare the photo with your video image. Like I said, probably a bit much for only 3dx, but having a German bank account has many other advantages. I'm using it for myself and really like it - but as usual: YMMV!
