I hope I won't be grilled for reviving this my first and oldest thread, but, for some reasons I thought I wanted to make my voice heard again First a friendly hello after a longer time away, but ... I have been busy elsewhere. The reason I'm back here in the forum is because many of the things that have happened in the last couple of months started with 3dx, and in particular with this thread. In the past couple of months I have been operating a fetish blog, that has gained a significant audience (no worries, no advertisement ahead lol) and that has proven to be a hell lot of fun. And all of this has started here. 3dx allowed me to untie my sexuality, much more than I had ever imagined. And I learned to talk to my real life partner about all this, about 3dx and eventually also about my blog. LilCal's advice to talk to my partner has been the best advice in a long time. At the bottom line I have somehow changed from being passive to active, from passively watching porn to much more embracing my sexuality. Real real life effects. I used LiquidVPN before and now ExpressVPN. Can recommend both. If you ever intend to use the VPN to circumvent geoblocking (Hulu, Netflix) too, you should invest some time finding the right one.

The only thing someone monitoring the network will see is the connection between your computer and the VPN server, but not what kind of traffic is sent, because it is encrypted. VPN cannot be used for plausible deniability, if that is important for you. In other words: your shared home network owner can detect *that* you are using a VPN connection, but if that doesn't bother you, then you'll be fine and perfectly safe.

Lol, this is indeed becoming a bit nerdy I am happy to understand our existence to be more than electric signal processing (and that's not me now beginning to talk about spiritual dimensions of our existence). We are much more than the parts we consist of. Modern physics (Quantum Physics and String Theory, if you are open minded) has understood that for some decades. It's the dependencies between the parts that craft our world. Simply put: no, I don't think replication of neural inputs will give us the same original overall experience

Sorry to hear that!!! I think the only viable thing to do is to really save your room using ... well yes ... Alex' mod. If you've invested hours in crafting, you should always backup your work. Too late now ofc ... A shame, there's no save option in game.

The simulation theory is old and one can neither proof nor refute it ultimately, just like the (non) existence of a godlike creature or the tooth fairy. VR on the other hand is indeed something that will put us into a simulation, one that we have freely submitted ourselves to. For the rest, I have to agree with Athena, I can't think of a situation where some technology could substitute physical sex. The simulation can become very realistic, but we have much more than the visual sense or the sense of touch. And, to add to that, nothing better than to wake up in the morning after a night of passionate sex with your lover in your arms.

Many months have passed now since I posted this and I thought I should give a little update on the status quo. First of all, the game has influenced my "real" life in many ways, the most important certainly my partner and me talking about our sex life much more than before. And I can say that it not only ended with talking, our sex life has improved since 3dx served as a trigger for all that (and those wonderful responses I got to my OP) and that alone is a very very good thing. I can only recommend this to others as well, talk to your partners about you playing 3dxchat (and alike). If you really care for each other, chances are high that this will make things better for your relationship. Other than that, in terms of real life effects, I did some pretty funny things out-of-game with people I met in game. Sometimes not very beneficial to my work productivity, but hey, you only life once Right now, for many reasons, I'm less active in game, and instead cultivate my old tumblr passion, doing mostly text based role plays there (yes, that can be a hell of fun, too!!)
