Seems some of these diaries start out with some sort of awkward introduction and something witty or profound. I am going to skip all that.  :P

On to the first topic of discussion, which is writing descriptive during seduction and also during sex on the game. I bring it up because today someone messaged me in the game and they wrote a large paragraph of good old fashioned purple text. The contents included them noticing me from across the room and describing what they were looking at, which was me in this case. That definitely got my attention even if comically I was looking all around the room and could not see this person anywhere. After figuring out their location way super far across the room, I guess I was supposed to somehow write back that I noticed them noticing me from a million miles away. In my mind I thought we are already off to a bad start, but I tried to go with it, responding also with purple text and walking an entire continent across the room though it did not make any practical sense for me to do that unless I was a psychic. I sat right across from them. We had a little descriptive back and forth, keep in mind with no dialogue. Then suddenly they went silent, for quite a while. Finally, I asked if they were even there anymore. Maybe they went afk or something. They responded quickly, and said something in the the realm of "I am sorry you don't write enough text for me, etc"

Wow. Ok then. At the time it kind of pissed me off and I didn't bother to reply to them, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

That brings me to a question, or a few questions, open to discussion. There are no right or wrong answers, just looking for different opinions.

What is too much descriptive? What is too little? What are all of your experiences with seduction, both descriptive and dialogue? What do you enjoy or dislike when first approaching someone on the game?

Any thoughts?

My advice is that you do not question what you did wrong, you did not mess up, they did. See even if you are not 100% describing how the hair on you nose move, as long as you and your partner are having fun that is all that mattered. The descriptive person you mention made a big mistake which you over looked, unless he was playing a mutant and you could read their thoughts. Every descriptive player is different but whoever it was you met was looking for one descriptive player in the rest of the people. In the end you both decide if it was fun or not, giving up half or just at the beginning, it is like planning a trip but giving up just because you did not like the sound the door made when you opened it.  Who knows maybe you would have been very different had you not felt confused in the beginning.

There is no right or wrong... clearly that guy wants a long ass story. Me I can flip flop from long winded and short and to the point. Most the time I'm short and to the point, just how I am. So I would be a total bore to that guy which is fine by me bc I'd fall sleep reading his long story. :D

It is kind of funny you say that ToxicallySweet, because some other person followed up behind me to approach them. Their purple globs of text must have been superior to mine because they partnered and ended up sitting together on the couch. The thing is I was in the room for a long time after that, and yeah I admit I am nosey, so I looked over a few times and noticed they ended up sitting there for over an hour doing nothing but sitting. I am going to assume they were talking and doing descriptive stuff during all that, but in my mind I was relieved I got rejected in the end. My mindset in that moment was definitely not that of sitting on a couch for over an hour writing my memoirs to someone during what for all intents and purposes seemed to be a sexual encounter initially. Maybe all things happen for a reason.

/me feels RP is more a feel than a science… testing a connection between lines… some work, some don’t.

Each connection different, but… ya gotta make those calls to find the connection that blows your mind. ;)

Still like window shopping but already made "that" connection, turned out to my addiction.

Be careful… some connections are stronger than you can imagine.

I enjoy descriptive narrative but the depth of it mostly depends on mood, my partner, time zone and time allotted to the game.

Sometimes my partners & I like a quick fix, other times more slow but just as explosive.

Sometimes we fit our rooms, experiences and forum into the mix and our 3DX takes on a life of its own.

Luckily my partner and 3DXChat Wife fits just fine and it works out really well for us.

Good Luck and well wishes, you all find what you are looking for. Certainly the experience is great fun.

Tis is true Things happen for a reason but still think he could have been nicer with the sorry not interested part but that can be difficult to convey so at least he didn't walk away without a word or blocked you so I'll give him credit for being honest.

Maybe I will try to step my emoting game up. I think I have a new turn off though and that is someone trying to hit on you from all the way across a huge room. If you are interested in me, get up off your lazy avatar butt and walk across the room and then do it.  :P

Moving on to a new topic of discussion.

I have noticed more than a few times that quite a few people on this game begin to slowly and gradually rot from the inside out while playing here, seem very unhappy with their experience here but continue to play anyway. You might be saying what do I mean by that, and I am about to explain. It seems or appears people join this game for different reasons, and I think the majority that join only try the game almost on a trial basis and discover maybe it is not for them, or get bored and they move one. Others however, find something that keeps them here and they stay here for weeks, months and even years. The game is not very big and there does not seem to be a lot of different members so I have the feeling a lot of us go through similar experiences here. I think we have all seen the topics of those experiences discussed hundreds of times in forums and in the game, so not going to go over those again, I am sure if you been here a while you can use your intelligence, experiences or even imagination on those.

But I have noticed some people, maybe a minority of people here, maintain their identity through the entire time they play here, and no I do not mean alts or character names, but their personalities and demeanor. A lot of times they are very friendly and funny people and are just great to talk to and be around, and they to have problems on the game sometimes, but they retain their positiveness. I do not mean fake nice either, where they sound friendly, have to constantly sell their niceness to others, but create havoc in everything they do. I mean real genuine nice people to know or be around. Then there are many others that seem to become more and more negative as they go along and almost fester and rot as they play here and just become what I cannot describe as anything but bad people to know or be around. But they continue to stay here, and like a chronic disease destroy everything they touch and make everyone around them worse off for having known them. A noticeable trend in that group of people is that they seem to gravitate toward each other and find kinship in their negativity and hostility.

I guess that was more a commentary or editorial on what I have observed here, and only an opinion of mine. But I open it up for comment in asking those that have decided to stick around on 3dx for many weeks, months or years, what keeps you coming here? Why do you stay and keep playing 3dx?

Again, no right or wrong answers here, I am just curious about how other members think.

What keeps me coming back? hmm… mostly to share time with connections that turned into friendships over the years… a few having gone even further and of course… Andrea. My addiction, the tether that keeps me coming back.

But, that’s not the only thing that tickles my curiosity n keeps me coming back to these worlds… it’s the unknown, the unexpected, the different, the naughty and the kinks. It adds spice to my IRL. Plus, a great place to hear new music too.  ;) Lots to come back to, that’s not my problem…. it’s balancing time n prioritizing, not very good at being efficient.

I do understand what you mean by the unknown making things interesting. You never know who you might meet that day logging in or what profound things may happen. It makes it fun to venture around the game and talk to people. That is a big reason I have stayed here. It is also why people who log in only to isolate and hide away really perplex me. Just seems like a waste of time and money to me. I also think of the very few people here that have had long-lasting and good relationships here. You can just imagine that the one time they logged in and met their partner they had no idea that would be the day that they would meet someone so special. But I also have to say, I know nothing about these kinks you speak of.

I enjoy being here and enjoy meeting people from around the world.

Like in life, in our 3d life we meet people who have ups and downs and a bit of bad luck.

This though is the difference in people and their make up -.How they  deal with it...

You can either dust yourself off, pick yourself up and accept  that life has thrown a hurdle in your way and your metal is shown in how you come through it and handle it ...    or

you can feel sorry for yourself, wallow in the negativity of the situation for as long as possible and spread the low feeling to your friends.

The issue with the latter is that eventually, you push people away.

People naturally want to be around happy, fun and positive people. People come here to have fun, enjoy themselves and take a break from RL.

If you are negative all the time, you will find yourself sitting on your own more and more and more. You will get a reputation for being sad and boring.

People also take life's knocks a step further -  God Forbid! They pretend to have an illness, or be involved in a car crash or even die while they start an alt up and pretend to be a RL brother or sister or friend to give updates and observe the misery....  why?

Do they like or get kicks to see people upset or miserable?

I dont understand why some people even role play like that!   It's mean and its spiteful. Grow up!   FFS, Just be honest and end the relationship.

People also make the decision to bring the doom and gloom or grievances to forum. They want to infect and change the happy mood of  forum?  Why?  World Chat in the game not enough for you?

Question - Why can’t personal issues or disputes be discussed and resolved in private?

If the answer is an Ignore - then that is the resolution. One party does not wish to continue, nor take part in any further drama.  Full Stop. End of.

And if that is the case ... why then do said parties think its ok to publicise said dispute on forum...  to goad the party who does not wish to talk on it anymore / to continue the drama ? Or to let the rest of the 3dchat world know?

In case anyone does not understand the latter -   The rest of 3d does not want to know, nor gives a flying fuck about personal hissy fits at all.

The only issues that should be publicized are when there is a public interest to the rest of Forum ... like stealing other member's creations!

I stay in forum and the game because i enjoy it. I enjoy my friends and my wonderful 3d wife. The game is what you make it. Forum is what you make it. I enjoy the challenges and like the happy more than the sad.

I know it should not have made me laugh when you said people fake dying on 3dx, but it did, though it probably isn't funny. That just seems so unbelievably extreme but I believe you, that it happens, even if I have never experienced that myself. Drama in the game and in forums is probably mostly a product of boredom, and I say that because it happens to me too at times. Everyone probably has a different threshold of what they can tolerate when it comes to drama though. For some it might be none at all, all the way to the other extreme where it is just non-stop. You probably say it best when you said where it gets to the point where you are pushing positive influences in your time here away from you, it is probably time to take pause and take a closer look at what you are doing, which might even open a topic of whether people can change their attitudes and behaviors on 3dx or are we just limited to changing names and doing the same things over again. Good stuff.  ;)

I don’t they are usually fake or stupid or both. Never trust anyone who’s always happy.

If you are negative all the time, you will find yourself sitting on your own more and more and more. You will get a reputation for being sad and boring.

I’m usually quite happy sitting on my own. I find it strange those that aren’t, as if they can’t bear not to have their time filled by noise in case they might have to introspect.

People also make the decision to bring the doom and gloom or grievances to forum. They want to infect and change the happy mood of  forum?  Why?  World Chat in the game not enough for you?

You’re new here aren’t you? The forum hasn’t had a happy mood for about 3 years, probably longer.

The only issues that should be publicized are when there is a public interest to the rest of Forum

Who decides this without moderation? You?

I enjoy my friends and my wonderful 3d wife.

That’s great but you also spam the forum with relentless drivel. This is your right as is mine to express my negativity. Suck it up.

Someone else needing shrugs

Darkfirey, why do you seem so combative?

Perhaps some bubbles?

I am sure she has her reasons. I am not friends with her or anything but I never said anyone had to make positive or constructive answers. She’s allowed to be unhappy if that’s what she’s in to. I try to tune out as much of it as I can.

I’m a moody bitch. Sometimes I just want to lash out, sometimes to cry in the shower, sometimes i’m even happy, I think, probably.

I do want to offer some thoughts on Sleeper’s original question I think it’s interesting, but i’m still editing my thoughts. I’m not trying to take the thread off topic sorry.

I believe we all have our moments.  It's okay to visit those dark places now and again, it's part of being human, just try to make it a point to not to unpack there.  V and I have chosen to unpack in our happy bubble. It's not fake. It's a choice.  Wishing you a day of smiles .... and yes, dare I say it?...HUGS!
