  1. true enough but initially the forums were kaput as well.. werent back up for like.. 4 hours maybe? wasn't really paying attention at first had other stuff needed done. At any rate, we all know what and why.. just be nice if we had a sense of when.. their twitter still doesn't even mention being down much less any mention of what to expect so I turned here looking for blue posts.. otherwise I have no real need of the forum.. only 10% of the users even know it exists lol
  2. Only a few people here seem 'tense'
  3. My point was simple CaptainAmerica it isnt a sustained attack or even the forums wouldn't be up.. My point was simply that I am optimistic that they are swapping hosts/increasing capacity (not likeley but here's to hoping) or otherwise addressing the issue rather than simply recovering from the attack which clearly they have had enough time for.. the fact that there's been NO update since 2:48 am PST is the only thing that I might otherwise complain about.. I'm speculative but optimistic and have no cause to argue you or anyone else's points on the matter.. just here for the blue posts and to answer what few questions I can.. breathe
  4. yeah if 'Captain America' read all of the posts instead of being eager to find something to rebuke he'd have seen most all of the posts have been optomistic and positive
  5. clearly yer a lil dereft of on how cloudflare works.. first its site based not client based.. it only works on the initial handshake and if it did (as you say) protect against ddos then why did 3dx fall? hmmm? yer correct about 522 in terms of it only addressing the 'reason' but the fix is the same regardless of the client and clearly the attack is over and yer argument about band width thus negated because you're correct about the redirect now being fully functional
  6. lol its actually a legit radio server with typically 600 people listenin at any given moment but even that isnt many for www but I appreciate yer jealousy and feeble attempt at trolling lol
  7. too bad the gold is pretty much useless lol
  8. classy.. 12 year old much?
  9. They've been super generous in the past when it comes to down time.. I think last time they gave everyone a month of sub for 6 days down time.. I'm not butthurt over the down time.. just wish they'd update us on the progress like most mmos at least try to do.. they have nothing on their twitter about the site even being down.. o well lol
  10. I'm going to remain optimistic but the point remains.. they've had ample opportunity to recover from a ddos attack.. I've had My radio station attacked via ddos.. I know first hand that there's only 5 steps to required to get the server back up and running and in My case that took about 2 and half hours.. the bulk of it being uploading changes and patch before restarting.. granted My client/consumer handshake is a lot more straight forward than a third party client but even larger MMOs only need 6 hours tops so yeah.. I choose to believer they are doing things to prevent further attacks like creating filter data profiles for the initial contact/connect or maybe even updating server capacity.. THAT would take a day or more to update
  11. @ Malouna I show it crashed at 2:48 AM My time.. its currently 5:26 pm.. almost exactly 15 hours
  12. anyway an error 522 error is easy to fix and no way should it take almost 15 hours to recover from that was My point.. there's more to this than ddos/.. perhaps they're increasing server capacity or buffing up they're infrastructure to prevent further attacks. but if their aim is to have us believe all it is is ddos is a bit patronizing after 15 hours
  13. no.. takes one peson on one machine about 15 minutes and 15 USD.. this is probably a ddos from someone recently banned if its even a ddos at all
  14. cloudflare can assist with support but cloudflare cant prevent ddos thats something only on site mitigation and cloud based server mitigation can provide but all those do is provide the proper infrastructure FOR you.. IE: the lazy mans way of avoiding it.. you can filter the handshake procedure to block specific types of data profiles yourself and put adequate levels of security in at the client/consumer level that WILL prevent DDOS.. all by yourself with only a little expense and precisely zero tech saavy required
  15. actually you can but only if the person doing it is extremely retarded or otherwise doesnt want to be anonymous.. cyberterrorists for instance, intentionally make it easy to trace them because they actually want the credit for it
