  1. Don't bombard a girl with pms if they don't answer the first, just move on. She may even get back to you in a bit but she won't if she has a stack of ims from you

Always be polite, letters are not words. If you can't put in the effort to type words and use "h r u" what you are saying is you aren't worth much of my time.

Don't talk constantly about yourself. Ask her questions (no not about rl) find out what interests her musically, filmwise, bookwise

If she turns you down, don't take it hard and give her a snappy comeback, be polite thank her for the time and tell her you hope she has a good rest of the evening. Girls have friends, they talk. Tell her "f you bitch wasting my time like that" you have probably not just burned your bridges with her but several other friends too.

Don't be in a hurry or try to force the pace, just let things happen naturally. Though make sure she knows you are interested

  2. Hello Aliviax,

that number is hard to believe for two reasons:

    1. II sold myself more than 200 subscriptions

    2. There is a considerable search volume in Google for 3dxchat

Where did you get that number from? You have a source, or ist that a personal estimation?

    Carol

P.S: There is no point to payfor multiple accounts, as you can have several avatars under the same account.

Generally good rough guide to estimating numbers of subs to a game I find is take the average number logged on at one time and multipy by ten. 3dx averages about 400 to 500 visible at any one time (note thats by counting numbers in public rooms and the number will be a little bigger due to people being in private locations so add maybe 20% so call it 600) 600 x 10 gives about 6000 subs.

Is it totally accurate of course not but I suspect its in the right ballpark

Oh and every reason to have multiple accounts due to the privacy invading Pandora

  3.

What a .world file really is a JSON file. You can open it with any JSON viewer and it will format the text since it is also a text file you can open with a text viewer like notepad and what not.

    https://www.w3schools.com/js/js_json_intro.asp

What that means is 3DX did not make the file format not really all they did was add a few tags. I don't think that you can really say they have any rights to ownership of how the data in a .world file is formatted for a number of reasons including laws about compatibility. Just as example the .world format does not store objects, it only places and changes objects that are already in the game. It doesn't create new ones, which should be apparent. If you look at the .world file below of a box you can see the 5 properties that we can control, position, rotation, scale, color, and materiel.

    {"valuetype":"float","objects":[{"n":"group","objects":[{"n":"Box","p":[19.8382626,53.5674858,-20.0199928],"r":[270.0,0.0,0.0],"s":[1.0,1.00000119,1.00000119],"c":[4.313725559,0.043137259,0.043137259],"m":"wallpaper_16"}]}]}

I wasn't saying 3dx did I was merely saying that those that create rooms especially using external tools have copyright claims they could assert if others steal the room regardless of what others here think

I create a .world file externally I have copyright automatically under law

I hand the file to you to use, I still have copyright

You upload it to 3dx I still have copyright and 3dx cannot claim ownership of that as you do not have the right to assign it to them

    Someone steals  the room

I file a takedown they are legally obliged to comply

  4. A room in 3dx from what i can see is a unity asset

unity assets are copyrightable as can be seen from all the various unity assets stores

various countries such as germany dont allow you to assign your copyright to others

national laws always supercede what is in a contract or tos as ICann are finding out

3DX does not have a leg to stand on if someone decides to pursue it from one of those countries

  5.

I did realize that the churn rate is rather high. I wonder why is that.

You are pulling people from second life to here and wonder why the churn rate is high?

    lets see here you have

worse avatars (assuming you put a little effort into your sl avi)

    a whole 13 dance animations

    a whole 16 sex poses

    You can chat

you can dance though you can only synchronise with one other person

    you can have sex

You can build a room with limited tools

At anyone time there are maybe 500 people online to meet

If you are a male (can't answer for females) just about every 6th avatar seems to look like you or so it feels

It costs 20$ else no play

You can give meaningless gifts to each other

    whereas second life

You can have a better avi than here

dance animations number in the thousands

sex animations number in the thousands

You can dance and synchronise with many people

    You can chat

    You can have sex

    You can go bowling

You can go watch a film at a cinema with other people

    You can play board games

You can go wrestling, boxing etc

You can (insert activity of your choice almost)

You can play more mmo style games with huds

you can fly an aeroplane, drive cars, motorcycles

You can build and script things limited only by imagination

You can give gifts to others which they can actually use such as buy your girl a dress

You can earn linden dollars in game

If you make enough linden dollars you can turn them into real dollars and make a profit

No money this month guess what you can still play

Its highly unusual to run into anyone that looks even vaguely like you

there are usually a minimum of 30000 on line at any one time

The only advantage here has is its simpler to get into as the sl tutorials are crap but if you have a mentor in sl I can get most up and running in an hour knowing all the basics

and you wonder why the churn rate is high?

  6. I disagree. Copyright is never an automatically handed over thing. If it is not stated otherwise you can file for copyright and it has to go through a process which takes about 6 months. And it is still not 100% that they will approve it and hand you the right.

You don't just get copyright by creating something. You have to follow a process the law requires.

In the us I believe it is true that you have to register. In Europe copyright is however automatic on creation

  7. well actually you are wrong, a few years ago SL gave over ownership to creators which enabled creators more control. One just needs to google for the info. as far as your tos statement, I would suggest reading the eula on the main site.   http://3dxchat.com/terms-and-conditions.html

As to the eula about copyright its not worth the paper its written on as it contradicts the laws of several nations including germany whereby a creator of an original work such as a room cannot assign copyright elsewhere but merely license its use

that is not about creation that is the difference between all virtual goods belong to say wow and in sl if you buy something it belongs to you. It has nothing to do with copyright. Creators in sl have always had copyright in their creations

  9. Does not apply to this game as you are not uploading your own created content to this game but using what is provided to make it.  That's like saying when people used to build outside the old user rooms we had using the furniture (i.e. glass tables, cubes and such).  I would recommend you look at the other sites as they have a Third Party clause in their Terms and Conditions/Rules where this game does not.  We do not have a claim if we filed a DMCA and would be the talk of office gossip for thinking we do.   The only thing we have a claim against is the lack of morals and respect to each others as builders.

in addition, sl has in game tools to create stuff using prims, guess what the copyright still belongs to you, not because of a clause in the tos but because of the berne convention

Sorry that is total bollocks here, microsoft word is a tool, what I use it to create is copyright to me. The fact I used word is irrelevant it is a unique creation. The use of a room creation tool is the same, the room you created is copyrighted to the creator. Just checked 3dxchat tos, there is no mention of anything you upload being an assignation of copyright so anyone who has created a room is perfectly entitled to issue a dmca take down notice if people copy it and I fully encourage them to do it and if 3dx wish to do business in the states they are compelled to comply

  11. I know that as well as IMVU, AChat,RLC (Utherverse) but they have the DMCA policies to which this game does not.  This game and it's owners choose not to implement that and that is their choice.  This content is created with the tools in game and textures to which they provide nothing of the actual users are used in the game itself.  That makes a huge difference.

DMCA is a us law, companies do not get the choice to implement it or not

  12. like most games.services in this world the only way to get them to listen to you is hit them in the wallet if you disagree with them. They certainly wont listen to voices on the forum ( that is a general point not specifically a 3dx one btw). I play eve online as well, the devs made a change, there was much furore on the forum and eventually a leaked internal doc from the ceo saying basically who cares what they say we will judge them on what they do...the change was only reversed when enough people unsubscribed and told them why

  13. But blocking a good friend he has known quite a while just because they are friends with me? You dont think that is a real asshat move?

Not saying it is or isnt as I have only heard your side of the story. However it is ultimately between the two of them. Bringing it here just risks involving others into a petty squabble and inflating it into something more than petty bickering is the point I am making

  14. Ok so I have now become the target of stupid shit. My ex and her new boyfriend Rhet have been removing friends we have in common and blocking people they see hug me or anything like that. What is the point? He had a friend he has known for a while and she really didnt have anything but nice things to say about Rhet but he is showing off his true colors... He removed her and said he has to get rid of my friends. Now I dont know what I have done to him since I only talked to him once after the break up with my ex and I thanked him for the chat and helping me kind of understand things but he is being a grade A asshole to people because of me and I hate that. I have done nothing to him worth that. If anything I should be an asshole to him since the girl I was with left me for him but I have not said a word of anything hateful to him. So if yall see them and me in the same room keep your distance or he will block you for stupid ass reasons.

He is permitted to block who he likes and likely most will never even find out they are blocked. "He" is starting Drama but its not him I see posting a thread about it which is more likely to raise the drama level than cool things off

  15.

If you put a picture in your gallery, people will see it and remember it. You can't say that it is an invasion of privacy if they remember it even after you take it down. And quite frankly, I have a hard time seeing why Pandora retaining information that you yourself made public should be considered an invasion of privacy. Don't want your information to be shared without your knowledge? Fine, then don't make it public in the first place, and it won't be.

A lot of difference between a few seeing it that happened to check my profile when it was up before I decided I no longer wanted it to be public and having to remember it and it being shared with all and sundry for evermore. When I remove information from the public domain then people should no longer be able to access it full stop. Yes a few will remember it but it won't be available to most. Pandora changes that and legislators are increasingly agreeing with that stance. 3DX operates in the EU, they are classed both as a data handler and a data processor. They therefore have a duty of care requirement under GDPR regs to keep data safe. Allowing Pandora access and not doing anything about it quite possibly contravenes that and no doubt we will find out as I have submitted a complaint to the ICO about it

  16.

As for Pandora being an invasion of privacy, I would rephrase that to say that some people use Pandora to invade other people's privacy. There is no dancing around that fact.

But on the other hand, for the roughly half of all players who don't use alts or else use them only sparingly, certainly there is no way to pretend that Pandora is invading their privacy, unless you want to say that someone knowing for a fact that a player has no alts is an invasion of privacy.

Pandora is an invasion of privacy whether you have alts or not

Have a bad relationship decide to restart as a new name by creating a new avi and deleting the old...tough pandora knows so does everyone else

Put up a picture that you come to regret. Delete it from profile. Tough pandora still has it.

Put some information in your profile and regret it within hours and remove. Tough Pandora still remembers and its still there for all to view

  17. So you are saying random hugging is acceptable? I think find if you ask around that to most people is isn’t except in quite a restricted range of circumstances.

If you cannot accept how other people feel about certain behaviours then you are unlikely to be able to sustain a relationship with them. And my poll is now suggesting something you won’t like so you can declare it invalid, whereas Xeno’s poll on identifying lead Avis was ok because it gave a result you liked. Curious that seeing as it fails your test for reliable poll.

Oh and btw the polls which support my analysis are from large sample sizes and at least two were undertaken by professionals, funny that the discrepancies and similarities to Xeno’s avi use poll are so satisfactorily explained.

Where did I say random hugging was acceptable? I suggested you used the ignore function . As to sustaining a relationship with you I doubt very much I would want to even try. Your poll is meaningless as your sample size is small, your participants are self selecting. As to the polls that you claim support your analysis I have not seen them but then I have only been on these forums a few weeks

  18. So in RL we shouldn’t investigate, arrest, prosecute and imprison murderers because to do so invades their privacy?

That is implied by your point Sam. Some behaviours are unacceptable and the people who do them should expect to have their privacy invaded in a big way. Nobody minds a minor intrusion if it can be seen to be for greater good, like making an effort to make the world a safer, nicer place. Even if it is only in a very small way.

sighs this is a game not rl. You are free to block them and never see them or hear them. Learn to use it. You seem to think a random guy hugging you means that all the rest of us should have to give up our privacy. News for you its not. Frankly someone as sensitive as you should consider giving up multiplayer games as you seem easily upset
