Using custom textures is not very different from uploading pictures on the gallery, and the gallery pictures are even stored on their own server. And yes that also can be copyrighted material. So there is no difference indeed. Well in a way music on our stream doesn't affect the game in terms of copyright laws since the music isn't stored on 3dxchat servers so whoever plays copyrighted material, if some company really wants, they go after his stream. Since the game itself doesn't hold or distribute copyrighted material but we upload that on our own server we rent. Same way people stream video and music on discord. Discord isn't storing taht material on their server, the user does So legally they can come after us directly if someone REALY wants to. But so far nothing that big happened. we don't have an audience of thousands of people on our stream for companies to care or notice it.

Well of course we get anything, when it's done. Sort of the same thing Gizmo answered me about the pose editor probably a year ago when I asked him in 3dxchat, and he said that "server stability first". Yeah they had their DDOS thing going on. But Things only get done if they work on it. Otherwise they never get done by themselves. And this is the part where they fail to show any professionalism and reliability. He would need to rebuild almost the entire game from scratch. Not gonna happen. He is lazy to even update the outdated Unity engine the game uses

I would like to forward my suggestions about key elements that I think should work as intended in the rooms that we create. This time not new things, more like things that are already present, but we can't make use of them. -Illumination: shadows to be cast based on local light, not only Global lighting. This is working perfectly in official rooms like the Saloon, and other places, where shadows are dynamically cast based on the local light, and I don't understand why can't we have the same in the builder, making things look far more interesting and real. It really enhances everything if we can cast light through objects for example and have really cool shadow effects created -some of the poses that are present already in the game like washing hands in Night club, jumping in the sea or pool animation at the beach and the Yacht. I don't see a reason why they are not present in the options for us to make use of those animations also. -moving spotlights are wonderful, but moving objects would be great. I can imagine unlimited applications for those. Even better if the moving objects can have their speed and movement set manually, so we probably could create moving platforms (build a moving dance floors, or a car for example).

I understand what you are talking about. But personally I think it would be just a bothersome complication and I'm more comfortable with the way it is currently. That's why I suggested also that for those who want to have such a feature, that you suggested, to have a toggle function in the options which makes it optional, to have it enabled. It might not be for everybody. Because for my use and experience I just find it awkward to send or receive hug invites like it would be a sex invite. And I don't mind being hugged by the close person, without sending me some awkward invitation for a simple hug. But until such feature is implemented, I think probably you can block someone who is abusing this feature. I'm sure not everybody does that. So whoever is a jerk, you can safely block the user and problem solved. Those affected by bad behavior are blocking those who are harassing them. It's normal really

Might be a bit uncomfortable at times. But I don't see it happening like super often. And most people simply shrug it off when that happens. I'm not entirely sure if a prompt would be helpful because while it fixes one issue, creates another. So maybe we should have some sort of a compromise solution. Like for example either something like having a toggle feature for it, to have that prompt popping up or not, or maybe make it in a way that those on your friendlist to still be able to hug you without permission. You can always remove them if they are a pain in the ass and bug you with it.

And yes you can sell anyone's artwork as your own if it's not claimed by any owner as their own with proof of ownership. As fucked up as that may sound, they can do that. That's why for example digital artists create watermarks, painters sign their paintings, and they take all sort of measures they take to prove that the original work is theirs in case they get in some dispute over the ownership of their own creation. If a creation is shared over a platform which has a terms of use including copyrighted material, such as youtube, or any other place, you can file a complaint with your proof of ownership and have them remove the said material from their platform. And they will as long as you can prove it. However if they sell your creation on their own website, you need to take them to court, because there is no other way to stop them from doing that. And you need to have legal ownership for your copyrighted material in that case.

You are super confused there. And yes it is about unity store what you quoted there. Assets made with unity and displayed in teh Unity store. Period. You don't have any sort of global copyright ownership for anything you haven't registered anywhere. In teh unity store or steam or youtube you can file a complaint that you have your creation used, and you need to prove it that you are teh legal owner. and they can remove it. And even they will reject you if you have no means to prove it. But sometimes they chose to do so until a dispute is settled. live and learn mate. Yes it uses assets made by others from teh said store. And no they can't legally file a lawsuit against those pirates replicating this game. All above is true for assets published on the Unity Store, you can notify them about your claim that someone else published something over which you own the copyrights and have them removed from the platform. Same goes for other platforms like youtube and others. You file a copyright infringement claim and have the disputed creation removed if you can prove that you are the legal owner of the said product.

If you create anything inside a copyrighted platform (Unity engine in this case), you need to register in order to publish, and that's the only way to copyright it, because you have to legally submit to terms of use of the platform. Same with Unreal, source, or anything else. Unreal for example in that case used to ask for money from saless, whichever the case is in each agreement. But You don't own the engine. What you are talking about is owning the tools for your creation, for example if you paint a texture, you own all those tools and you are not subjected to anything else. I explained all this above. However, unless you program and make your brand new engine to create a game, you can't copyright anything unless you legally register it, since you don't own the rights over the platform. Just as you can't claim ownership of your creations inside 3dxchat, since the platform isn't yours, you can't claim ownership of a program you make in Unreal for example unless you copyright it by registering. You can create anything you want, nobody is stopping you, but you have no rights of legal ownership "automatically" as you said. Hammers and pencils aren't copyrighted. this is a digital content and all rights are reserved to you over your "product" only if you are registering, and submit to the terms of use of the engine, and legal agreements. the reason why they didn't go more "vigorously" after pirates, is simply because they can't. The game isn't copyrighted and claimed under copyright laws. So in legal terms they aren't pirates, because they can copy an make use of digital content that isn't copyrighted. yes it is an option. and nothing is copyrighted, until you actually copyright it. Look it up how you can copyright anything. You claim it for your own, it also has that copyright symbol in case of a product for teh time of registration. It is needed in this case because it's not a painting you made with your own tools, It's a game you made using free Unity, a platform that belongs to another company. A hammer or chisel you are using to make a statue for example isn't copyrighted, you can make the exact same hammer if you want, so you don't need to register anything because you didn't use somebody elses legally copyrighted platform for your creation. But Unity is copyrighted. Since you don't own Unity, you need to register your product that was made using this tool. I can't claim copyright over a room I create for example using the tools from this game. I could claim that I'm an artist using the tools from the game to create rooms, but I am not able to claim it. This game also isn't copyrighted and can be copied by anybody. That's how they can't legally charge those stupid pirates. Only try to prevent people in the game talking about them.

And the elusive clothing editor too which I have a feeling is just a fart in the wind like their talk about pose editor was, but let's hope for the best. Yeah the last update was quite underwhelming. Well depending on which side you play. Female avis got themselves 17 new items in this update, men.... exactly zero, as usual. Even if we have almost nothing for years.
