how to connect turntables (vynils)

Hello everyone

I've been here for 2 months now.

I stopped to be a dj 2 years ago, here I did not think to meet greats peoples who have the same passion, listen and share with them makes me want to mix again, but on my turntables, traktor it's nice but I do not have good sensations with it.

 

 

I explain the problems:

i don't know how to connect my mixer to my pc, i don't have female red/white plug, maybe i need a new soundcard?

 

then i don't know what softwares to use for the sound, winamp?, i don't think traktor because i have my mixer.

and finally connect everything to play live.

 

also vynils are in phono, i use ortofon cell for better quality but it remains phono.

Salut Makkye, 

 

C'est simple tu dois juste brancher sur la sortie RCA de ta table de mixage un cable adaptateur Rca vers mini-jack. Le mini jack tu le mets dans ton entrée son ( micro ) sur le pc et ensuite tu utilise VDJ par exemple pour broadcast ou Winamp ( je suis pas fan de Winamp ) 

 

donc recap : 

 

Tu branches tes vinyls en phono sur ta table de mix, tu balance la sortie RCA de ta table de mix vers ton entrée son de pc et tu utilise VDJ ou autre pour broadcaster. 

 

 

Tu a plus qu'a trouver le cable ça vaut vraiment pas grand chose mais prends de la qualité sinon tu risque d'avoir des Noises. 

 

 

Si tu as besoin d'autres infos hésite pas a me PM in-game.

Virtual DJ

 

You can use traditional vinyl turntables or CD players to control VirtualDJ by using timecode. To do this, you will need the following:

 

• A Pro Infinity, Pro subscription or Plus Timecode license .
  (The FREE version and all other licenses allow timecode to be tried out for the first 10 minutes of use only.)
   
• A suitable ASIO (PC) or CoreAudio (Mac) sound card with at least 4 inputs and 4 outputs (2 stereo), such as Hercules DJ Trim. ESI Maya44 USB, Rane SL etc.
  
  NOTE: The sound card built into USB vinyl turntables is not suitable - This is intended for 'ripping' vinyl to MP3 only, not DJ performance. A proper low latency sound card designed for DJ timecode use is required.
   
• VirtualDJ Timecode vinyl records* or timecode CD's.
  Alternatively, you may use nearly every timecode vinyl records on the market (Serato, Traktor, Mixvibes etc). You should find these at your local DJ store or they can be purchased on-line from a variety of DJ stores.
  *Requires VirtualDJ 8 or later
   
• If using vinyl decks, direct drive turntables are strongly recommended (Belt-driven are not well suited to DJ performance, especially scratching.)

thanks for your advice, i ll use only vinyls decks, they are old, not in usb, and direct drive, you re right it's better, maybe too a cd player if i find it.

It wont matter if they are old, as long as your mixer outputs can go into your soundcard. I would recommend an external one to make things easier. Then it also makes it easier for cuing because you can use your PC's internal sound card for headphone output. That way you can cue on 1 deck while other is playing and things like this.

 

Winamp is just a player some use for streaming. You need something that will accept your mixer output and process into a stream. Because of the possibilities and options you may want to have in the future, you should look into one of the following:

 

Virtual DJ

Traktor Pro

Serato DJ

Rekordbox

 

They all do about the same thing and each has pros and cons. Do some research with your set up and find one that more importantly will be compatible with your equipment.

Use a Cinch to AUX Adapter (if needed) put the AUX in to the Mic/Line-in of your Soundcard and use WinAmp DSP to stream your Soundcard Signale

I could use the speakers for the main music and one of my headphones to adjust the bpm on the second deck, i hate to have 2 music in the headphones to mix

 

I will also see for the software that you quoted, I do not expect to buy new vinyls, but digital music, and i want to record too.

I tried to plug everything.

I plugged the mixer into the mic input (pink).

the sound comes out of the speakers.

 

I tried to stream with winamp but it does not work. I do not know how to set it up the sofware.

Want to connect two turntables? Very simple..... Buy two turning top tables....place them together liked closely spaced to each other..now invite some cool mates and serve chilled beer on those table.....nice time guaranteed XD....was joking.... All those who contributed to this thread.....Cheers!...cuz after a long time, I am able to see a sensible topic here with some serious and useful suggestions....

that's why I saturate that I increase a little the sound on the mixer? only in the game.
