Well first of all, I use CHAIRS too, not just tables and book shelves. As for no one saying anything, they did, and it was ridiculous. Thing is to be an officially licensed DJ they have to put up a lot of money effort and other moral obligations that many in this sex game just ignore. But this party is in a private room that is going to be open to the public, it does not mean it has to obey any rules other then those the host puts up. It is her party and her room. Her thoughts about having a party saying thank you to the artist is to me a noble one. 

Here's my major concern in all this...
 
For years people stream in rooms with hacked software and illegal music... No one says anything. But one person makes a party and asks all participants to use legal music and everyone else goes apeshit. Someone please explain this logic to me.

This only applies to public streams. A private streamer can legally play licensed music on occasion. .. say for a few hours here and there. All of this is very clearly covered under the law if you check their definitions of public and private streams. A public stream is one that is accessible to anyone 24-7 and listed in any online directory.

Yes we should really get a radio license because we stream some hours a week. Sure you need a license for broadcasting but I can't stop laughing imagine the following conversation:
 
"I play this adult sex game and I created a club out of tables and cubes. I have every two weeks that room open for others to join for about 4-8 hours. All guests are also subscribers of the game. We like to party and listen to music I and other members will play that night and I really want to become legal. What kind of license can you sell me for this purpose? - What????
 
To be serious... our virtual clubs are no real clubs and we also don't operate a public available radio station. We all know each other more or less, so I see it still as a private party. So please stay away this those licenses.
 
Before some may argue, sure the guy running the streams for the public rooms should have a license since he is doing it officially in the name of 3dx.

ContentUnlimited does not cover royalty fees to be able to perform music in public and/or broadcast it. The subscription fee pays for your right to be able to legally stream the track and play it privately while your subscription is active.

Regardless of the source (CD, iTunes, music streaming service (ContentUnlimited), vinyl record, etc.), you must have licenses from the appropriate authorities in your country to be able to play music in public and/or broadcast it.

If you are playing in a bar/club, then depending on the laws of your country, the venue will usually have appropriate public performance licenses to cover you when you are playing at that venue.

If you are using a commercial radio broadcast server (I.e: A service where you legally rent a radio broadcast server) then the broadcast royalties may already be covered (Paid by your subscription fee to the broadcast service and/or by adverts.) For further details, please check with the provider of the broadcast service that you are using (Or intend to use.)

If you are using the broadcast feature built into VirtualDJ itself only (Listeners are directly connecting to this on your computer rather than you broadcasting to a radio server), then you will need to obtain appropriate licenses (Except if it's private and just you and a few friends are listening.)

I first thought WTF as Alivia told me her party idea but after a first schock I got excited about it. This event is not meant to point a finger to us all that we play tracks we didn't paid for. It's just a wake up that we should also care about the artists.
 
As a private person you can become very easily legal. Just subscribe to Spotify or any other similar streaming service (also some are legit for professional DJs). Some would say now, noooooo the artists are getting way to less through this. Might be not wrong at all but also if you buy a track from beatport a lot of people withhold their share before the artist get the rest.
 
Anyway, as a DJ you could also use those services for private usage if your DJ software supports it. It's btw a nice way to start deejaying because the costs are low and you get a pretty good quality. If you need more information about this, feel free to pm me. I also started like that but meanwhile I have a new controller and I am using SERATO DJ. 
 
So back to topic. The last month I used the Pulselocker DJ streaming service, or better I tried to use it. It lacks lots of songs I wanted to play so I ended up buying those on Beatport. But this was in total to expensive for me... so I canceled Pulselocker again. This wasn't the first service I tried. All more or less didn't fulfill my needs. So I was in a dilemma.
 
To be honest, I started to use illegal downloads again and I will tell you why. Since I am no professional DJ I don't have any income therefore. As a private person I already pay Spotify and I am also willed to pay for some tracks I really like and which I play more often as just one time. But I don't see the need to pay for everything I will ever spin. 
 
So I looked through my sets of the last time which songs I really love and played often and which I didn't bought already and I found some. Since I will not using any DJ service anymore I decided to buy them, not only for this event but from conviction.
 
That's why I support this event. Sometimes we need an external trigger to remind us of what is important to us. For me beside personal things it is MUSIC
 
My wish for the future is that we all remember from time to time that it costs a lot of work to produce a song and we should honor that. In my eyes it is not necessary as long as you are a hobby DJ in a virtual sex world that you buy all your music. But supporting your beloved artists or some underground dogs on whatever way would be a nice move.
 
I just bought 10 tracks from beatport I didn't already (legit) owned and it was a good feeling.
 
I am really looking forward to this event.

This is the first event of many that i will make to honor creators n to promote their music n my hope ia that more ppl will start buying music to enjoy their favorites songs in the highest quallity.
Its a step in the right ditection n im sure of that now if that step is big or small it has to be seen but again its a step its the right step so plz support this efford, help me spread this message accross all 3dx music lovers.
You can keep apply cause it wont be only one i think ill make it a perma event.

I applaud Alivia for doing this. If even 1 person buys new music or picks up a new sub, then the event will have served it's purpose.

we all love music , music makes our life better ,its there in happy momments n in sad keeping us company.
its there when we fell in love, when we share our feelings with someone we love.
Its always with us and its always there when we need music .
 
Music exist cause some create cause some give their soul to make music
so this event is dedicated to all artists /creators of music to honor them for making music ,the music we all listen
