I'm still waiting to see where anyone in an official capacity has ever said that an auto ban system actually exists. I wish the devs would say something as all that's going on right now is speculation. People assuring others that things are getting fixed (whatever that means) when really nobody knows whats going on at all.

It depends , it must be different for everyone as I havent had it happen to me in weeks and generally i very rarely have any problem with the game. There will be new servers within a week or so anyway. I'm convinced that with a lot of people (not all) it's their computers as well.

Thats exactly what I'm saying, they make up whatever they like , you're right and there is nothing we can do about it. As far as advertising goes they probably need to provide some way for people to do it, even though I'm quite confident in saying that advertising has minimal benefit at all, especially when it's overdone.

The rules are quite generic and are a catch all type of thing which allows them the ability to interpret them as they wish to. The same as most places.

I'm not deflated at all by someone who speaks out of ignorance, not interested in discussing anything further with you if you're incapable of being rational . Take a look in the mirror if you want to see somebody who feels entitled, this whole tantrum you're throwing over not being able to post an ad says it all. My stance hasn't changed, I think there should have been a warning before any banning but i wholeheartedly support the idea of having no ads in wc. If you can't handle somebody having an opinion that isn't the same as yours then that's your issue, not mine.

maybe so but they still need to find a way to stop people posting ads for their rooms one after another, there may be a 60 second pause but that doesnt stop a group of people from the same room from posting in succession and that is whats causing problems

Advertisements are not the lifeblood of any club, have a good club and treat people well and they return, regardless of ads. I ran a club for two years without once advertising and i had no problem building a regular crowd. As well as the psychotic discussions in wc at times there are plenty of good discussions. Why should people in a chat area not be able to chat due to constant spamming of ads? Try having a discussion without getting personal, i'm not delusional, i have enough friends to know that for 99% of them this isn't an issue they care about. I've been in the game long enough to know what attracts people to a room and it's not ads. The only thing i'd say is if people are so obsessed with having to run ads lobby to have an announcements channel where you aren't inhibiting people's ability to chat in a chat area.

Well that is the weakness really, communication. A simple announcement would have been sufficient.

The reason they don't lose a load of members is that generally the game is good and it's good value for money, other games are much more expensive to play.The number of people getting upset about an issue such as this one is minimal. I think you will find that most games' rules are vague, they allow a lot to be left up to interpretation. It's a common complaint everywhere.

Please, why are people making themselves sound silly by trying to be smart? They are in game advertisements for parties(which is blatantly obvious when that 'simple' message consumes ten lines of chat) which is not what wc is for. People just need to accept facts, they cant advertise in wc any longer, you're fighting a losing battle if you think you are going to force any change in that. Edit: I'm sorry, it appears wiggles posted a line ad , not a big one in an attempt to circumvent the rule. Well, the subsequent second banning makes sense then. No ads means no ads.

who was randomly suspended? I haven't seen any evidence of that so far.

They aren't covered by the same rule, one is not dependent upon the other, I'm sorry, you're just wrong on this.

because they weren't enforcing the rule and it was never at the saturation point it is today, people went too far, they had to intervene.

I said a few people thought they were something they're not, i didn't say all, plenty of people who open rooms do it for enjoyment , i did the same thing myself for two years.

That's a totally seperate issue, you can't tie the two together.

It doesn't really matter what happened two weeks ago, obviously they have decided to strictly enforce the rules from now. Things have obviously reached a breaking point.

I agree that a lot would have ignored it or not seen it, but at least it would've avoided most of this furore. I would have just announced that we are going to ban anyone who posts ads in wc from a certain date. I do agree that it was effective though, it got the desired result very quickly.

I don't find it at all confusing, the message is quite clear by their actions, don't post room ads. It's not difficult to understand. Yes, it could have been communicated to people in a different way but their intention is clear and there are plenty of us who are happy with the final outcome. I don't see the injustice that people are carrying on about, all i see is maybe a misstep in the process from a PR point of view. I can't believe that anyone could claim that they can't see why it happened, the ads have become more and more intrusive on chat , it finally reached saturation point. The only question i would pose is why not give people a warning of the intention to strictly enforce the rule rather than just banning people? That, in my opinion is the only misstep here, everything else to do with it i applaud them for, removing ads from world chat and applying the same standards to everyone. Who are the bunch of devs you refer to? As far as i know there are only two people who work to develop and administer the game. I'd much rather they spend their time working on the game, especially considering the issues they have faced over the past few weeks, than being in forums responding to everybody. All i think they needed to do was make an announcement, they don't need to be involved in back and forward discussions. A few people who convinced themselves that they were something more than just another user got a reality check and had their egos bruised. They'll get over it and the game will go on because the silent majority in the game just don't have an issue with any of this.

well actually that night your ads were appearing every 60 seconds from one source and in between those by someone else, definitely wasn't you though. Your ads were constant for hours.
