Having the alt avi does not take away from the main avi, it simply shows that it's an alt and that's it.  Why should anyone be offended being on an alt if they're not doing something that is offensive or hurting to others in the game.

Having a color for New avatars just allows people to know it's not an alt so they actually might get talked to instead of being blown off as it does happen far too often.

The whole point of this is trust. It's not violating your privacy of being on an alt avi as it's not telling what your main avi is, just that you're an alt.

I like many others limited my real information in the game and only have contact with a few outside of here.  Many of us here can give a list of things they've experienced.  As my post from earlier, that is one of the best examples that I can give regarding the use of the alt avis and why some feel something needs to be done to protect users.  All points should be taken into consideration if anything is to be done.

While this is a game, it's not just about sex as many have pointed out on here and in game, there are Users that are here for just sex.

Alright to further enlighten this subject.
Guy A - Main avi     Girl A - Main Avi

Guy B - Alt 1 avi     Girl B - Alt 1 avi

Guy C - Alt 2 avi     Girl C - Alt 2 avi

Avi A1 - Any sex main avi

Avi B2 - Any sex Alt 1 avi

Avi C3 - Any sex Alt 2 avi

Guy A is with someone, in PM to Girl A asking to be their side piece, Girl A decides to be with him so he creates another avi to be with her in Public.

Guy A was with his gf/wife earlier, she goes offline, he goes on Guy B, starts talking to Girl A who is new, they are together hanging out go to private have sex.  Girlfriend/wife comes back online while in public rooms while he's on Guy B with Girl A, He states he has to go and gets back on Guy A to be with gf/wife.

Instead he goes on Guy C and starts talking to Girl B who he doesn't know is an alt of any Girl A, goes off having sex, Girl B realizes who Guy C is tells his gf/wife about the avi.

Some Guy A and Girl A avis, never find out that their significant other is on another avi cheating on them, some do.

Same for Girl A but not retyping it, but this follows through with any avi.

Avis A1 are friends, one Avi A1 does something to another Avi A1, goes on an Avi B2 to go to others while talking about the Avi A1 did, getting those Avi A1s to be upset with the other Avi A1 and causes distrust of them.  The other Avi A1 that is being spoke of doesn't know what has gone on and hears that from their other Avi A1 friends, not knowing it was their friend on Avi A1 the confide how upset they are.  That Avi A1 while using Avi B2 hurt that person and betrayed their trust.
 

With Roleplay, there is no reason that using an alt avi to play with another group is an issue as long as it's not used to hurt the other group as this had been done for many years on other sites and forums that it's understood but most honest Roleplayers tell the groups their in about it so they are aware out of respect.

There are some that go on an alt avi to be together without having their friends contact them so they can enjoy some alone time out in the rooms.  They don't have any friends on those avi because they don't bother with anyone.

There are some that go on an alt to just relax, only letting a few of their friends know it's them because they just want to relax.

Some list their alt avi on their profile so others know it's them.

People don't care if you're using an Alt avi(s) but they do care when it's used to hurt others.

P.S. I can relate to this post as well as many others as we're those people that have been hurt and want to see this game be safe for all Users so the deceit isn't as easily allowed against other Users.  People will think twice about hurting someone else if they're using an alt Avi to do it and there is a way for the main Avi to know.

I think we need to look at what people use alts for, both good and bad, then we can decide if something can be done, how it will effect what and how it can be implemented with the least amount of harm.

 

There are times I have used an alt for innocent reasons and feel it would be a big loss if people didn't have the chance to use them for reasons like this.

When my real life boy friend used to come in the game often we would use alts that we let no one know about so we could get privacy in places like love island.

I have used temporary alts in games where a group of us made alts and then had to guess who was who.

I like to use alts to check out new sex poses instead of using Bob and Betty.

I am sure there are other innocent uses but I can't think of any where having a different colored name above them would make much difference.

 

I have seen alts are being used to do harm in a lot of ways.

I have seen people in relationships with 2 or 3 players at the same time and when people have found out has caused a lot of anger and hurt.

I have seen alts used to manipulate people against other players.

I have seen alts used to manipulate people towards their main alt.

I would hate to try count the amount of times I have been sure a player presenting them self as a new player was an alt trying to get to have sex with me.

That alone causes people to be unsure and not so excepting towards new players.

There are heaps of things people are doing with alts that cause problems and distrust, especially towards new players.

 

The distrust ends up being focused towards anyone you do not know well and that is the big problem.

On top of that as you get to know more about things in the game and know more people that are doing this type of thing it effects your game in other ways.

I used to enjoy getting in local chat in NC and making fun for people, it was something I often did and found I was actually fairly good at getting people going.

Used to make a fool out of myself but it was ok as we all seemed to have fun and a lot of laughs.

It got to a stage for me though that I knew of so many people doing the wrong thing, especially with their alts, I would see them in there and it changed things.

Seeing someone finding another victim or doing something where you knew someone was going to get hurt had me doing what everyone else seemed to be doing, talking in pms and sticking with people I knew.

The way things are you can't do anything about it, you can't pm the person and say don't go with that person she is a he or he has another avi where he is in a relationship with a friend of mine.

You can't really even go to a friend and say your boy friend was using an alt to get with another girl, these things just cause problems in themselves.

So after being in the game for a while and getting to know some of the people that are doing this sort of thing, your game gets effected by it.

You start not trusting people you don't know and sticking to your group of friends, not talking to new players and not wanting to make fun for people in local chats.

I know I am talking about my experience here but I also know others that feel the same way and would say that many go through the same thing.

 

If alts were detectable because of having a different colored names above them it would make a huge difference.

Not so much that we could tell the alts and who not to put as much trust in, but more so that we could start putting more trust back into peoples main avis.

Having it known to be an alt would make it much harder for people to use them the way they are now, not many would be willing to get in a relationship with an alt.

You would not give as much credibility to rumors presented to you by an alt or allow yourself to be so easily manipulated by an alt.

New players would stand out more as most people would not want to delete their main avi so they could look like a new player.

So we would all be able to be more welcoming to new players.

Many of the problems caused by mis use of alts would be reduced to just a small percentage of the amount it happens now.

As for innocent use of alts, I can't think of any where having a different color name above them would make any real difference.

 

The biggest problem introducing this is the problems it would cause for people with the way they have their alts now.

Some may not have their main avi in the number 1 slot, so as it is introduced there would need to be a fix for that.

People will scream about things like it is an intrusion on their privacy in the game, really it is not an intrusion on privacy but people will be found out for things they really shouldn't be doing.

Others could get hurt as they may be in a relationship with someone who is not using their main avi and is in another relationship with that main avi.

There are lots of things where people who are using alts for their own gains and taking advantage of others that will be found out.

Yes it could be said it is just part of their game, why shouldn't they be able to play multiple games where they are in relationships in all of them.

Not only will they loose those relationships but also the people they are in those relationships with will get hurt.

That needs to be considered and worked out.

My opinion there is if the people that are in relationships with these people, if it would matter to them that the person is in other relationships then it could be better they find out.

As for the people that are using multiple alts and having multiple relationships going at once, well I bet they don't let all of them know they are in relationships with others, so blow what they think.

 

Having said that though I think people could be given a chance to lesson the impact.

If it was to be introduced that could be done by letting people know it will be on a certain date, say in 30 days.

That would give people a chance to work out what they need to do with what they have going in the game.

Yes introducing this would cause some problems, but they would be short lived and things would settle back down very quickly.

The advantages of doing it would then show and the game would benefit from it.

Well, for one thing, I am hardly ever on here anymore, so nobody is stealing my clothes and making me run all over NC to get them back!!!!

 

Still, however, rooms do seem much quieter than they have been. Much of it, as I experience, is because of PM's and Group Chats. It's actually very hard sometimes to get somebody to talk in local. I've many times said Hi to someone, only to have them reply in PM only. There seems to be lots more dance clubbing than sexual escapades of late, I'm guessing most of the sexuality has faded to the private room realm. I know IMVU has a very harsh attitude towards noobs, and some of that has been taking place here. I actually enjoy noobs many times more than some of the long term members, because they are less stuck on themselves. Admittedly, when I joined, I was very, um, interactive with almost everybody, but now I tend to socialize more than sexually interact, although I still do that. Still, it all in all is much less local and world chatty than it was when I first joined here.

Agreed.  There seems to be a lot less chatter in Local unless there is something going on in the public rooms.  You can sit there for an hour and nothing is said.  Like IMVU and other venues new Users (noobs) are sometimes looked at as alt avis as well, so people use caution.  I've been on here since March and yes the Local chat has gone down a good bit from what it was, that's even in the summer.  It's sticking to group and PM chats or User rooms as more and more seem to open up.  World sometimes has a flux then slows down as well.  It depends on what's being discussed that gets a response.

I guess it's who you know that makes the difference, seems the chatter comes and goes.  That will continue off and on, it's the nature of the beast mostly.  Seems all do that.  Adapt or not, no reason to be a part of a crowd when you can just be yourself.

Well I did smile as I was writing it being that I know so much about music and how things work. You'd know as you've like the comments I've posted about streaming, have you not.  I'll be smiling on my last day that's for sure.

Welcome to the madhouse.  Some of what happens here repeats itself like other games as you mentioned you were on SecondLife as well.  As someone who is on other venues as well, just watch and observe, you'll see and hear things not all of which are true.  Use your gut to make decisions as you'll find it's easier that way.   Yes like other venues, there are groups that stay together, you just have to decide which one to be a part of.

I'm EST which is 4 hours behind GMT and if that is the first time listed before GMT then one is wrong.  I'm sure you want people there at the correct time so they don't miss out on the activities.

Well to be honest, most are in group chats with those they know, new people because of no one really talking aren't sure what to do or maybe they're just watching or it's an alt avi.  It seems to have died down since I had started back in March others have noticed as well.  You can be in a public room and feel like you're the only one there, it's that dead in Local even with 20 people in the room, I mean after all it's a sex and chat site.

There are more User rooms that are open and the influx seems to go to them as it's friends/groups that hang out together. Maybe with the winter weather coming for some, there may be more people but I don't think as much.  Summer is coming for others which most will be out and enjoying the weather.

No one knows what the future holds, you never know what can happen.

You have to be extremely careful when you use something if you did not create it yourself as you may not know the original origin of it and can face the consequences of that.  Anyone can sell a file, buy one or pull something off the net, but you have that doesn't mean you can just use it as you want, it doesn't work like that.  I urge anyone to look up the legalities of it first then go from there.

That would be a first for that as the game has been out a while and so much feedback has been given and barely listened to let alone responded to.  I get we're all so busy but for this game to improve at all, the time must be taken to get it there which seem to lack.

Taking the User(s) Content, which of course anything submitted, should be checked to make sure it's original content created by the User(s).  I would hope that all the hard work that goes into the game shouldn't be anything that isn't.

no, i can`t agree.....Utherverse, Secret City, Second Life and IMVU are publishing Designer Kits für their Users to create own contents

While they provide the basics to help you get started and simple instructions the rest you have to learn on your own.  They are very tight about using Copyrighted images, meshes and more. There are policies in place to protect the original content for users much like anywhere.

Ok I think this is a simple thing, but who knows. Can we please get some better gifts, the current choices we have to send are well.....getting a bit stale. As this is a sex game and we are all adults, (well some don't act like it}, can we get some naughty gifts. Simple things like a Dildo, a whip, handcuffs, lingerie, lube, butt plug, or even naughty emotes. Just something other than me gifting a heart or chocolates or a ginger cat for the 50th time to someone.

I do have to agree it is simple and imagine it would be easy to add a few more things to the mix that's there.

As this is a sex game and we are all adults, (well some don't act like it}, can we get some naughty gifts.  - This about sums it up but adding to that is some use the CHAT feature to socialize as well.

I guess my post was pointless as it was removed.  I gave my honest opinion of here and I see being honest was too much.

Since my post was removed from here, I put it where it matters.

Far too easy for a change, it's making the time to go through and remedy the situation is what seems to be the issue.  To me it sounds like the effort into sorting the problem is on the back burner.  If it were me, I'd resolve the present issues then work on adding new things but of course testing it before putting out a patch for everyone then waiting to see what bugs come out.

The only clothing in 3dx that uses a diffuse texture are the un-colorable ones, eg. jeans, socks, hats..etc. Everything else uses only a bump map, and sometimes a specular. But the method you're talking about (a mask) is already used in 3dx (like the stitching or laces on male shoes).

 

The clothing meshes that do use diffuses would just need to have a grayscale diffuse in order to be colored ingame via the picker. This would also mean creating a mask for them too, which yes is very time consuming and probably not a priority (and rightly so). But something tells me it's the way unity works (or the way 3dx is set up) where maybe you can only recolor materials and not overlay colors on textures for ingame. Or maybe they tried it and it didn't look right. 

You nailed it and the best part is, it's so freaking easy to do, but what do I know as I've been doing that for years for many things like games and such.

I have not seen single argument why global account ID is bad.

Only seen some " experience "

 

Want mine? In 18 months.. I seen weekly people hurt not because of RPers but because of mean people, all of which could be prevented by global account ID.

Some people would get second account but most can't afford it so yeah it would cut the drama and problems here by half I am certain.

 

Some of the things I seen here -

stalking with alts

dating 2 or 3 people with alts while being exclusive

using fuck alt while deceiving your exclusive partner who trusted them fully

making threats of suicide if their " friend " wouldn't do X while they were running on alts

faking death or large injuries while being on alts fucking randoms.

some people here admitted in chat they are here to ruin other people lives and nothing else. Because it's their idea of fun.

I seen people and I AM not kidding you with over 25 alts or 7 active accounts...

 

 

Remember not everyone have thick skin as you might have,

Some people get hurt easier, some people experienced suicide or stalking etc in real life and you have NO idea what your stupid mind game might do to their health leave them depressed or even worse. You have no idea how horrible experience losing family member, lover or close friend can be. You are worse than those 11 years old kids wishing you cancer in online games. Because at least they are kids and you are responsible adult.

 

admins main responsibility should be safe environment for people anythign that can save drama should be implemented and its not like your real life name gets attached to account or anything so theres no privacy concern at all.

Well, 3dxchat is the only sex game I know that allow multiple avatars on the same account and for the same subscription.

 

I tried a few other and it was one avatar per subscription.

 

I think they knew it was trouble and didn't allowed it.

There is one game that allows 5 avis and a couple others that have more than one, which there is a lot more control over what happens, but I'll leave it at that.

I believe some use an alt to be able to go and just relax after dealing with a mess.  I for one have had my share along with many others.  The abuse runs wild and some people get caught in the mess thanks to others.

There is a reason the red ghost ignore is a thing.

I am not sure if you were around when the old ignore system was in place but the ignore system used to be ignore individual characters only, meaning if you ignored a character you would be done with it BUT if the person deleted that character and made another it would make them unblocked again etc...

 

And the old ignore system didn't have a red ghost before it actually shown the avatar itself when they were interacting with objects. A lot of people didn't want this so they all suggested a ghost block in essence that was account wide and that is what happened. The red ghost became a thing which shown no textures except the transparent red ghost so you wouldn't know who it was who removed you.

 

Also because when avatars were blocked and you can see the avatar still when they were in an action you could click them to bring up the menu for profile etc... Which caused issues when someone had blocked a person and that person didn't know until they saw their name when they clicked the nameless avatar, so the red ghost was an asked for feature and is inclickable and is account wide.

 

Unfortunately from what I gather there is no such thing as removing an avatar completely with ignore, not sure why though, just how the devs handle the situation I guess.

Anything is possible to be done.  Many other sites have an ignore/block and you never see the person in game.  There are so many glitches that users have experienced.  Like the never ending red ghost in one spot even when no one is there, so it can be seen as annoying to anyone as they have to leave and return to not see the red ghost.

To change the Radio with another stream links or put own live streams is already possible with the radio in your home

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I'd love to have a better integration of radiotunes.

I've got a premium membership there and would like to use it ingame. By now I've either to fiddle around switching streams on their page as I change rooms, or those low quality streams and commercials.

Maybe this would be possible along with the integration of some kind of radio gui. I imagine something with the possibility to switch between ingame (location/room specific) and user defined radio stations/streams.

 

Not a high priority issue to be honest, but it would be awesome.

 

Also I'd like to add something else. Thanks for the color picker! But would it be possible to make it slightly bigger? It's a pain in the ass to get the color you want with this tiny slider.

I believe they are stating that they pay for the same radio (House) music played in all the User and public rooms so they don't have the commercials or low quality of music and would like to be able to have that option in game not just selection the stations (House) music or putting in the link for their own stream.  With the (House) music that 3DXChat offers in game is an unpaid service so don't get the quality of a paid service, which they would like to use.   They may not have the IP and port information to put it in as their own stream but they can't do that in the public room so they're forced to listen to the (House) music in those rooms.
