Just because something has not happened to you does not mean it is not a problem. I have never been in a situation where I have been starving and I have never been robbed or murdered, but they are obviously all problems in our world. I have had multiple instances of people harassing me and when I ignore someone I want it to stop, on all of their characters. I don't think that's asking too much. Sure they can create a new account but most won't because many people are too cheap to do so. Having to make a new account is a good deterrent. Now people say: "Well under this new system, they have to pay for a new avi". And this seems correct, but it would take what.. 1 month of logging in to get a new avi at no cost. It seems really weird to me that we have to fight against a change in the system that makes it easier to harass people and not only are we met with some serious resistance, we are the ones who are actually being blamed for the drama and problems. How the hell can we be the ones causing the problems when we are asking to be left alone by the ones who do the harassing?

I think we all agree with this. Can you think of a better way to remove drama than a full account ignore of a person who is harassing you with one of their avis?

Kinda the same as how championing for a weaker ignore system would also benefit those pushing for that. That kind of logic goes both ways. I don't really see anyone defending Pandora. I just said I don't mind either way. But I also stated many times that it's logical for them to do something about it. And you think it was only 2 or 3 people abusing multiple avis? The abuse was rampant.

I don't really understand how wanting to avoid harassment could be seen as an act of being a drama queen. In fact, having a proper ignore creates much less drama. Wouldn't the drama queen be the one who welcomes a weak ignore system so they can continue to harass people that have ignored them?

One thing people are forgetting is the likelihood of people wanting to let go of an account to create another one in order to harass people. if someone has an AVI with 800 gifts and a big friend list, that person will be much less likely to delete an account altogether and move to a new account. Yes they can still create another account and if they are caught again harassing people and get iggied, then there goes that and they must open a new account and try again. Of course it can never be taken care of completely, but removing account wide ignore technically makes ignore useless. It is very easy to just keep making new avis to harass someone who has made very clear they no longer want any sort of contact with a certain person. This is especially true with the example above. Not only will the problem be worse, it will in effect, tempt others do use alts in ways they wouldn't have before in fear of people finding out. It is possible to keep account-wide ignore and also block Pandora and that is what the devs should be focusing on. Not taking the easiest route, because removing account-wide ignore to block Pandora only solves one problem while creating a different problem. If we were faced with a choice to get rid of both or keep both, I would vote to keep both. I don't really mind them blocking Pandora, in fact I do think it should be taken care of, but I don't think it's worth the cost of losing account-wide ignore for many obvious reasons. I still have yet to see 1 single argument in how single avi ignore is better than account wide ignore, and It's also quite telling that more people aren't pushing for the option of keeping account-wide ignore and blocking Pandora.

The only way I know around this is to go to a different room then back to your own room before the memory leak caps out. In crowded rooms, doing it once every 90 min or so is a pretty safe value. If you are hosting and really worried about it especially in crowded rooms, you can do it once an hour. Somehow, going to a different room sort of "resets" the memory leak. This is something that has been in the game for a long as I know, but it has gotten worse over time with the heavy rooms and high populations. I hope this helps.

I have not seen where Twiggy said anything about her knowing how to run a business better than Gizmo. What I have seen is her proposing an idea that is very sound in logic because I too work with databases at work and what she has provided has a lot of merit and makes sense and is not bullshit. But a few people jump to conclusions and shoot it down> Instead of expecting her to provide examples and proof of why it world work, why don't you all show why it would not work? I don't point this at you personally Sage. I did go back and read and I have not seen Twiggy say anything about running a business better than Gizmo. Providing information on how to improve a product for the greater good is hardly the same as telling someone how to run a business. She is attempting to provide a solution to blocking Pandora and keeping account wide ignore. It seems there are a handful of people who REALLY are against account wide ignore. I will ask all of you this one question and would like for you to provide a logical answer. If there is a way to both block Pandora and keep account wide ignore, how is that not the best solution, as opposed to each avi having to be ignored separately? Some of you will come out and try to say nothing is 100% secure, or that you can just ignore each avi individually, or that it's not a big deal either way, or that people can just buy a new account. Those are not reasons, those are smoke screens to try and divert attention away from the problem and garner trust in a system that is vastly inferior and will cause more harm than good. Myself and many others are not dumb and see right through the bullshit. One major reason for the hate of account wide ignore because it gets in the way of some peoples mind fuck games. So let's hear ONE good reason why individual ignore is superior to account wide ignore, providing that Pandora can also be blocked. -

No it's not simple, not when you have no idea this person you are talking to is someone that has been after you for years. Taking away account wide ignore makes the ignore feature useless.

Ignore is not powerful when it can be bypassed by making a new avi... for free. Just login for 1 month and you are good to go. We aren't dumb

How are things equal when the system is made easier to harass people. Just because it does not happen to you does not mean it is not a problem for others. How dare anyone else do things different than you do. Also you should not attack people just because they don't agree with you. Prolly not a great idea to tell people to go kill themselves either just because they don't agree with you.

What about the people who stalk and harass constantly? It will only make life very easy for those who cause problems. Not only that, it will promote bad behavior. Ignore is a weapon now. But these changes will make ignore useless. They can simply make a new avi and start the harassment again. This is a step backwards.

They have the ability to keep account wide ignore and also block Pandora but that would take way more effort than to just get rid of account wide ignore. The Pandora thing never bothered me and if they block it and it makes most people happy then I think it's a good thing. But they should not be removing one safety feature in order to fix a different safety feature. That's pretty unintuitive and very lazy.

And yes... maybe I am a bit more vocal than some others. I am the type of person who stands up for what I believe in. What's weird to me is that there seems to be an actual argument over whether or not we should have account wide ignore. Some are a bit more passive about it but some have even state that they would be happy to see account wide ignore gone. I would just like a logical reason as to why these people don't like it. Having the opinion that it is not working is not a good reason to get rid of it. For many of these cases I know the exact reasons why people want it gone. One is so they won't have to pay so much to play 3dx. I would just like to hear a real logical reason why it should be removed.

I'm trying to see in that post where I attacked anyone or where I said the world revolved around me. Here's the thing... we all went through this close to 3 years ago and the devs should remember the backlash from removing account wide ignore the 1st time. I can assure you it was more than a few people who were upset about it.

And yesterday I also replied to that explaining... avi ignore is not even an ignore. The person can just make another avi and keep up the harassment. Making a new account is possible but it's a good deterrant... especially if they are found out again and you also ignore that account. Then they have to buy another one. Eventually they will give up. Under the proposed system, not only is ignore useless, but it will actually make harassment much easier. Tho I could be wrong because nothing official has been stated. I guess we will see what they come up with. I also stated that yesterday as well. If I took anything you said the wrong way then I do apologize. You did suggest that the need for account wide ignore was exaggerated. I think it's working quite well. I guess we can agree to disagree.
