  1. Thanks

This is an open letter to the dev team. I believe @Gizmo is the head programmer.

First, I work professionally in Unity Engine and I think 3DX is impressive. Good job on the game and it has lots of cool features.
I am a programmer, and I imagine there are a dozen others playing the game as well. A lot of us are tech literate and will understand if we're told the specifics of your server problem. We can probably help parse it into layman's terms if PR isn't your strength (brief jokes from the Art Lead aren't quite enough). Even if the problem is simply poor planning and unanticipated volume, people will understand as long as there is an end in sight. But we need details and better communication.
This is my list of questions:
How big is your team? How many full-time programmers, artists, and designers are working on the game? Are your servers and architecture your own or are you using a third-party solution such as Photon? Is the problem based on capacity of the servers (quantity) or is it a quality issue with the programming? What is the specific problem? What is the specific new solution? Can the new solution be implemented immediately? if not, tell us why not. (for example, increased third-party server capacity won't take effect til your next billing cycle) Many of us sympathize with your work and recognize that the team is small, but this is a class A bug at the least. Without connectivity, you do not have a product. We need clear answers and estimates while this is being resolved.
If your networking was middleware and something you were simply paying for, volume wouldn't be an issue because you could just buy more server space. So I'm assuming you're using something more proprietary and less field tested. If this is the case, do you have a full-time server engineer? If not, I'd recommend you hire one or switch to a middleware solution.
We appreciate answers and transparency. Good luck.

Removing the ability to open rooms to friends, group, and public ? Are you crazy ?
If they do that they will:
1: lose a ton of players.
2: they will need to remove too the build option because what is the use to build nice rooms if nobody else than you can see them ?
3: They'll also need to remove the possibility to DJing as there is no use to be DJing if nobody else than the DJ can hear it.

Sorry, but moving back from 3DX 2.7 to 3DX 1.0 don't seem very appealing
The best way to solve the spam problem would be a "anouncement channel" and the ones doing it in world chat once we have this announcement channel should be banned. But for now, like Ex said, The world chat is the only place where they can make announcements

I know this is beating a dead horse, but has there ever been any word/intention/rumour of allowing a room owner to kick people from their public room?
It's annoying to force 50-100 people to each individually have to ban some racist/misogynistic jerk running around a popular public room screaming in Local. Everyone's seen it, everyone knows precisely what I'm talking about. The room owner should have the ability to click on that user and "Book/Kick" him (usually a him, though not always) from the room. Technically, and in this order, the server puts that person back in their home location, owner user has that kicked user added to their iggy list behind the scenes, and problem solved. The kicked user can no longer see the owners room listed in the locations list and, therefore, can't re-enter to continue their "fun". No one banned from the game, just removed from a room.
An extension to this would be the option of "deputizing" certain friends of the owner to also perform this function. We already have "security" and "bouncer" types in certain popular rooms to add the the atmosphere (Aidra's, some of the popular clubs) who are often in uniform, so it would be cool to see those people also have this ability on behalf of room owners to kick people out.
I'm aware that people often create friends-only spaces for special occasions like weddings, which usually solves this issue. This is a problem mainly for the large public spaces.
Thoughts, or background history of this idea, I may have missed in the two years I've been playing?

Maybe I'm alone or I overread the posts but I would appreciate some nice D/s poses including handcuffs, ballgags, St Andrew Cross a.s.o. The BDSM Community is quite large in the game 🙂

Then why are you bitching about WC here? You can have tons of virtual sex without using a WC once.
And I am pretty much doubt that people leaving the game because of WC lol.
