  1. Your money will be spent on new servers that will improve our game, so no, you can't have them back. I also can't have them back for the rest of about 11 months. Now be an adult and learn to deal with the unpredictable hardships of life, ok?
  2. Why you only have 2 when you're the godmother of 3dx?
  3. When all this is fixed they better come up with v3.0 made in the latest Unreal Engine, with a solid pose/clothes/dances/general animations editor, otherwise nothing would be justified.
  4. I suppose there is indeed room for interpretation in those rules. Apparently the mods themselves thought that 3DXCHAT related clan recruiting turned disruptive enough to be deemed spam worthy of the ban hammer, and that's a take we can't argue with. We just take it or leave it.
  5. People not reading the forum shouldn't be a reason to spam WC every minute or two with "come to my club xoxo" messages that spread on multiple lines. And the room info is not what attracts people to rooms anyway. They either go for their fav host if possible, or jump around the rooms and settle where they like. People who want to go to your room will do so with or without whatever info you put out about it. And those who don't know what they want will just read the names of the rooms and explore whatever piques their interest. Don't think that a spammy ad will get anyone to stick to a place.
  6. It is in this lengthy thread, but I won't browse 30+ pages to quote it.
  7. Someone pointed out that the rules only permit in-game ads for 3dx, so they tried to argue that by extension this should be allowed for rooms because they are 3dx, right? Wrong. Also, the lack of a proper place for ads and self-promotion can be taken up on the forums, not in the in-game chat. This is besides the fact that there is always the possibility (albeit kinda flawed) of spending some coins to boost your room for a while.
  8. It is a generic [you], not you=Pandorra . Apparently someone got banned these days because they badmouthed Gizmo in chat. And eye for an eye leaves only the combatants blind, while teaching the bystanders that going for the eyes must be avoided . I know now, for example, that posting ads in world chat might leave me blind, so I just won't do it.
  9. It justifies and perhaps warrants it. It is basically a payment with the same coin. You need to understand the positions here, we are dealing with an authority, no matter how awkward it may sound in the context of 3dx. And authority does not have to issue warnings or explanations when it applies the law or punishes breach of law. If you throw shit at Gizmo or Lisa don't be surprised you get knocked for a few days. They are friendly, but they are not your friends. And the same is with banning spam, which evolved into banning ads altogether. The warning was the 60s timer to curb ruining the WC. It should have been a waking call. It was not, so now all spammers get put to a deeper sleep for a while. And, I repeat, it can't be denied that it works wonders.
  10. It doesn't matter at this point. Ads turned to rampant spamming, so now everything gets swept under the rug. The message should be clear, stop advertising your rooms. If there is a moderator, it is likely human, and is looking for any ad now, even if it started with spam. You can see it as collateral damage, but it is the most effective yet since WC was rather clean this weekend, with only one exception that I posted here. Otherwise it was smooth, just rarely some ads on 2 or 3 lines, not much trouble, which I find to be rather generous from the moderator. Also, advertising a room is not exempt from the "no advertising" rule, since you can't really advertise 3dx to players already playing it, so it defaults to being akin to spam. Would you consider an ad to a pizza to be effective while you eat said pizza? While the ad is being constantly thrown on the table?
  11. The message was getting quite repetitive, so technically it was spam. Although maybe she should've been told by whomever was bothered by it, because it was rather unusual kind of spam, not advertising a room, but a "service" of sorts.
  12. Lack of courtesy does not deserve a courteous response. Are spammers courteous when they are ruining the chat? They are not, so fuck their expectations of a courteous response. It was courtesy enough to be given a 60s timer, but they circumvented that one too. What more do they want? Because all they got was the BAN hammer. Now they should go cry their crocodile tears somewhere else. And stop pretending to not know what spam is, everyone with a bit of brain knows what constitutes spam. It's been around for decades now, we all know it when it shows.
  13. The current state of WC, like all the discussion in the past couple of days was in vain.
  14. The levels of drama in this thread are through the roof already, can you all mature a little bit perhaps? This game is not for minors.
  15. I do not condone banning just for welcoming people to a room, what I was trying to say is that it merely triggers me, and that's ok, because I just let it slide and enjoy the game.
  16. I always found guest welcoming to be rather silly and pointless. Welcome A Welcome B Welcome C ... After being welcomed in a few rooms I kinda got sick of it myself, but maybe that's just me, not dying to be acknowledged. Now it only kinda triggers me. Not that this is a reason for ban, but it looks so unnecessary and pointless.
  17. If this line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, it is spam. If this line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, it is spam, babe. If this line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, it is spam If this line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, spam it is, honey I repeat, If this line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, it is spam. See? This line gets repeated almost identically too many times in a short period of time, it is spam
  18. Well, call it "equal speech" then, it is speech, not spam
  19. It is easier to ban spam via a script than to ban trolling. Spam is obvious and there can be rules, like if a message has more than 20 letters and multiple messages almost identical appear in a short period of time, then that's spam and bam, here's a ban, thank you ma'am. But with "troll speak" is more difficult, and it needs live moderation. Plus it goes in the territory of "free speech", no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Spam is not free speech.
  20. What "war of words"? In WC? Chat is conversation, and conversations can be good or bad. Spam is spam, not conversation but noise. Important difference. If you wouldn't like spam in your e-mail, where there is no real-time conversation, why would you or anyone else like it in real-time chat?
  21. Use the forum. I know is not in-game, so not as connected, but it is better than ads being thrown in a chat window which holds a very limited number of messages or lines of text in total. I mean this is what (you) room owners need to understand and accept: WC stands for World Chat, not for toilet. But tolerance of (your) rampant ads got you thinking that it is "right", it is "correct" to do it "only once per hour". No, it is not. And you need to understand this, and accept it. Now I'm sure you're all fine people and cool to hang out with, but you've been given a hand and now that the hand was pulled and you only get the finger you feel robbed of "something" you think you have a right to. You're not robbed of anything, you're just being slowed down to a stop. Or at least that's what I hope is happening
  22. Well, what better place to discuss current World chat issues, eh?
  23. Two different points indeed, but look how amusingly they collide
