  1. They are removing the account ignore for a good reason it doesn't mean they cant add something else in later if its needed that reveals alts in one way or another, but if they do it should be consensual, and something both party's agree to. The truth is Pandora was largely used to create drama at least from what I have seen on the forum and WC. I personally don't think that it will change much. Will it make it easier for people to come back with a new alt and bug you after you block them yes, but that seems to me something that isn't really related to who this one of that one is in RL, and I honestly mostly fail to see any connection.
  2. I am sure they are always like this, and its just that now they think they can get away with it here with the admins seemingly away. Oh well I am sure it wont last, and its likely for the best that they show people how they really are.
  3. Its pretty clear that they can use stuff from the Unity store, since they are using the Unity, and that is why the store exist. There is a risk that someone other then the content creator released stuff on the store without the real owners permission. I think in that case Unity would be liable for damages, since they are selling that asset as something that developers can use in their games.
  4. Well the world editor which was the big update last year came out on November 30th, so this update might also come out in November, but if it was going to come out within the next week or two they would have said that.
  5. Honestly the twitter is barely used a lot of people would never check that. There also is one more chair on twitter that hasn't been posted in the thread yet. I think the chairs are neat though, and the office like one seems to even have a new pose that goes with it. I wonder how the foot rest works with it maybe just another prop?
  6. I was hoping the patch would have been out by now, but I think that its clear it will be the end of the year update, so I don't expect if before the start of December. Its a bit disappointing if that is the case, since it really doesn't add anything new or interesting like there has been in the past, and we have already seen most of the new stuff in it.
  7. I just hope we get a Halloween update the one we had last year was missing all the Halloween stuff, and wasn't nearly as fun as older ones.
  8. I am sure the servers don't cost anywhere close to that amount, and the cost is almost certainly based on usage. The amount the devs are paying is likely closer to one thousandth the amount you listed. The link shows the cost of hosting for unity games. The devs may not be hosting it on the unity servers, but it likely gives a good idea of the cost of the server. https://unity3d.com/unity/features/multiplayer If you look at the number of subscriptions, and the expenses there is no doubt in my mind that the devs are not lacking in money to add new content if they chose too.
  9. As far as speaking English, or not my thinking is that the most common language is the one that should be used if possible. It seems like right now that isn't English on the test server. It does make me wonder if maybe 3DX either has a large enough user base, or that it could attract more people who don't speak English if they offered a couple of servers in common languages for people to pick from when they log on. That might also address some of the issues they seem to have had in the past with there being to much strain on the server.
  10. I haven't been on the test server that much, but I get the feeling that a lot of the people on it right now don't speak English at all, and it seems like Russian is the dominate language. That's not the case at all on the main server. It seems like the community from the main server is also less active on the test server then they were a bit earlier, and that the test server is kind of over run with colders. Its not representative of how the main server is. I did notice that a lot of people now have something in their profiles about MNF Club, so I think a lot of them must be from there.
  11. I think its a good idea, but I am just not sure user rooms are stable enough right now to leave them open without a host. They have a way of crashing after a bit, and I am sure the DJ would find it annoying without a host to restart the room. Plus the host does help the DJ with local, and attracting people.
  12. Most of the drama I have seen in the game comes from jealousy followed by selfishness. I do think some people are willing to say and do a lot to get what they want, but the same issues exist in RL. Its kind of hard to fight human nature I suppose. Personally I have found the best thing to do is simply not to be involved in the game and only spend time with a few close friends when they are on. I have though about DJing and hosting some of my rooms now and then, but I just don't think I am that into the community here most of the active players have a lot of issues.
  13. I don't think that's true maybe right now on the main server. It does seems like a decent number of colders and people just into sex rooms and poses have moved to the test server, but I am sure it wont last. Still I think the game is less social then it was a few years ago at least it feels like that to me.
  14. It shouldn't be brought up though, because people can't debate something like that without derailing the thread or breaking the TOS. Every culture has its issues, and yes some types of violence maybe be more common in some cultures then others. However, the example that was given Japan as being a better more sex friendly culture has its own issues, such as barely even treating rape as a criminal offence. Rape is so accepted in that culture its barely even reported. Japan also has far higher suicide rates, extremely proactive policing, and very questionable methods of extracting confessions as well as domestic intelligence agency's. So, clearly they have their own issues they need to work on as well.
  15. I was testing the new patch on the the test server to see how the poses that were stretched looked after they were fix, and they do look better now I think. However, I did notice that for two of the FF poses the top and bottom position is the opposite off all the other FF poses. Can you please switch it so it matches the order of the other poses? I don't normally use those poses, but some people do, and I think that it makes sense for them all to match with the order of the other poses
  16. Well the last time I looked at SL there were not more people in the adult tagged open areas then there are active on 3DX. Now it maybe be that most people who are into that in SL are in relationships, and don't actually go to the adult areas, but instead just meet people at concerts or whatever, or that many of those areas are not open to the public, we see that type of behavior from people who come to 3DX from SL. Still I think that many people are not playing SL for the same reasons as a lot of people play 3DX. People do play 3DX as a social game as well with events, and stuff but I think its not the majority or as focused on that as SL. I don't really think Sansar is going to have adult content anytime soon, and it seems really focused on interacting in VR not chatting so much. I just don't think that 3DX is as small as your saying if you just look at the numbers of people in other adult games or areas not counting the people who are playing them purely as social games. I do agree though that what 3DX desperately needs is a way for people to get their own content into it. Maybe an idea would be to do the reverse of a economy and let people submit objects for inclusion in the game and their own personal use in exchange for a review free payed to the devs in xgold.
  17. I get that this is something that you heard people say, and from playing the game I have also heard it to and it seems possible, but we have numbers from Pandora, and they don't really support this idea in my opinion. Pandora says there are 41415 unique account, and 7578 of those were active in the last 10 days. That means that about 18.3% of accounts (made since I think Pandora existed which is getting close to two years) have been active in the last 10 days. I think that is quite a high rate of retention especially considering based on my experience in the game that ten days of inactivity isn't really that uncommon and that many people return after that. It could easily be that 30-50% of people who make a 3DX account stay long term. I think that many of the people that don't have gifts or whatever and seem new are either really, alts, long term colders who simply are not getting gifts, people who are not keeping gifts and friends, or simply people who are returning and play now and then.
  18. I agree Rob and honestly I kind of viewed it like that myself. I tried second life first, and only because I had read a story about how a woman had committed suicide after her relationship went bad in second life, and wanted to see if people really got that into it. I was a really sad story, but it made me wonder what it was like, and it seemed like it must be something interesting to try. Second life was a bit complicated, and just to clunky, and hard to use so I ended up trying this instead. I am sure I would not have stayed if I hadn't met Chris. I think that its possible that the number of woman who join could be increased if it was presented more the way the game really is and less focused on the sex animations, but that also might not be the case. I just don't see a business plan that has to fight how society views 3DX as a whole as being that successful. As far as the 15% goes well it turns out I was a little bit off with that. I though the number of active unique user accounts last June was 6500 and this June 7500 so that is where the 15% came from. I got the first number from the Pandora blog, but I remembered it wrong. The blog says that on June 22 2017 there were 6785 active unique accounts, and am almost sure the number from about the same time in 2018 when I asked someone about it was 7520. So that would be a growth rate of more like 11%. Still that means that there was 11% more revenue year to year and its still a good size increase I think.
  19. Many of the suggestions that are controversial that some of the people in this thread have brought up though as solutions to their issues have not been popular when they were put to a poll in this forum, and I am sure would have been even less popular if the poll have been of the game's general population, so are they really things most people want? I am not convinced that 3DX has such a small slice of the potential market to begin with I have looked at other worlds most do not seem more active then 3DX, and they all do not have a monthly subscription like 3DX has. Also, 3DX is growing its user base. It has had like a 15% growth rate in the last year or so which sounds like a lot to me for a five year old game, so they must be doing something right. The way to get more females into the game seem to me to be to do things that would get more females to join. Stuff like changing the advertising would be a start. However, the games that seem to have the most females in them all allow prostitution for real money, and I don't think that would be good for the community, but it would get more females into the game. Personally I think 3DX has the best community of any of those games as it is I am not sure its a good idea to change things to much.
  20. I think the truth is that small changes to the game like changing how the ignore system, or even going to a single avi setup, or something wont actually change who plays the game. I get that some people want to think that if just this, or that changed the game would be totally different, but its simply not the case. Unless they can change who is joining the game any attempt to try to engineer some type of social change inside it is just bound to fail. The devs have their own vision for 3DX which might be a bit different then mine, or what I think 3DX could be. I don't remember anyone suggesting the changes they ended up making. What I have seen is that if they take someones idea they generally implement it in the next patch. I don't think that anyone can dispute that 3DX is successful as a sex game it clearly is one of the more popular ones, and its amazing it has the community it does based on what it is, but I think that the devs have decided not to try to compete with social games, and that makes sense they really can't. I think that right now there isn't a social game that allows adult stuff, and has good graphics. 3DX has managed to get some of the people looking for that, but that just isn't what 3DX is. It is just not setup with a lot of the things a good social game needs. 3DX is basically a bare shell if you take away the sex part there basically isn't anything there that can compare with plenty of social games, some of which I might add are basically completely empty of people.
  21. Well I didn't think about testing the ignore when I was testing it. I wasn't on to long, but I did try the name/gender change it cost 20,000 xgold, and lets you change one or both at the sametime. You keep your friends list, and gifts as well. I think in the case of the name/gender change at least it keeps the same id, so it really is just want it says it is at the price, and what it does I don't think it will be abused much. I don't think its clear though if making a new alt will give a new id, and that might be something they can change it should be easy enough to test though if the test server comes back, but I have a feeling it might not, and if it does likely not for long. Lots of people pay month to month, and they only need the test server up for short periods.
  22. My experience with opening rooms is that once you get ten people in them they tend to fill up a lot easier. I think that a lot of the popular DJ's and room owners do that or have friends who have a number of accounts in order to get the room started otherwise it might take an hour or more before enough people join. Its way worse since they changed how rooms are bumped now that it cost 300 gold and you drop to the bottom of the list. I know of a number of DJ's and room owners who I have heard have 6~10 accounts so it cant be that rare. I think that for some people being a popular DJ or room owner matters a lot and yes its shady. I cant see any other reason for have a large number of accounts active at the same time.
  23. As far as multiple accounts go I think they might be more common then people think, but most of the people who I have heard that have them are trolls or DJ who are using them to fill their rooms. I know that is more common then some people thing. I kind of think that at the end of the day what matters is how they are using them. I am sure there are shady people who use them though and having more then a few seems shady, but I think that people who change their alts a lot are not really something I worry to much about.
  24. People keep saying trolls, and stalkers as why the full ignore system is necessary. I can see stalkers but trolls... Trolls don't try to hide they are trolls if it takes three clicks or one the difference isn't really huge. As for stalkers it happens, but its not that common. Also what some people call stalkers are really just people pming them more then they would like. Both could be avoid by making an alt that can't be found out. I don't think either of those are the real reason people want to keep the full ignore. I think Twiggy has the real reason it lets you find out who people's alts are. If the full ignore worked as it was suppose to, and just ignored an account without letting you find out the alts then a lot less people would be upset about not having it. Yes It is more useful to have account ignore and yes it could be kept with the bunch of changes possibly, but it would always let people find out if an alt belonged to someone. That makes it conceptually flawed, since it is an unintended side effect. I think that if people want a system inside the game to reveal alts then they should just say, and ask for that and not be so focused on the ignore system. There are a bunch of things I think could work better then the account ignore if someone is concerned about alts I will say I personally am not. I think a second level of friend, a single avi account option, or a consensual way to reveal alts are all both more fair and more useful for that purpose. I don't even see an issue with making alts public as long as everyone knows, but whatever is done it should be something that everyone knows about, not something hidden the way the account ignore and Pandora are.
  25. Exactly people think that the server is doing much more then it really is in 3DX. From what I have heard from people who have looked at the code is it works closer to peer to peer then client server. Its not even clear the server is involved at all in somethings, which is likely why they can't detect Pandora right now.
