  1. An ad is an ad, whether it contains artwork or not. Anyway the only issue i would have is that there was no communication before the ban spree. As far as not having any ads whatsoever in wc any longer, I thank the devs for that.
  2. Let's agree to disagree as i believe it's clutching at straws to try to make a distinction between advertising notices in a chat channel and spam, in my opinion they are the same thing.
  3. The thing is that your definition or mine of what is spam doesn't matter in this case. If the devs are taking a stand against ads in WC then it has to be all of them otherwise there's too many grey areas. I would like them to clarify things too but the longer they are silent the clearer it becomes that from now on you post any type of advertisement in world chat at your own peril. I don't think there will be a decline in players, most i know are happy to see the back of the ads. I'm also happy to see them gone, i just don't believe it was done the right way but that doesn't matter cause it isn't my call.
  4. Whatever the reasons are behind the bans at least they are applying them across the board, nobody should be immune. There are no 'celebrities' in here, doesn't matter whether you have 2 friends or 10,000, whether you have been here 1 day or 6 years, everybody is just a user and should be treated the same way. I must say it amuses me that people are actually 'demanding' answers, asking is one thing but seriously none of us are in a position to demand a thing.
  5. Yeah, I can see that too, it's hard to make it so that it fits everything I guess, maybe 60 seconds is too much? I don't know but i do remember the same person typing line after line after line and ruining the chat for everyone too.
  6. It's good enough for WC, if you need to have a running back and forward chat with a particular person you can do that in PM as well I would have thought.
  7. I'm not contesting the rule, why do you keep going back to that? I am saying as a PR exercise it was handled very poorly. It's not a black and white situation.
  8. To be fair that timer also stopped some trolls who just spammed things over and over again making it impossible for anyone else to chat.I'm happy to see no ads and the timer retained.
  9. This is where you're wrong. Personally, I never liked the ads in WC but never reported anyone for it. I love seeing WC free of ads but none of that changes my opinion that it was handled badly. This isn't a matter of one side against another, it's a matter of how it was done.
  10. Nobody said they need to ask permission, they should have advised people seeing as they have allowed the ads for years now, if they were going to start interpreting the rule on a strict basis .It indeed would have been a common courtesy they could have extended. I'm sure people have been reporting the ads for years too, there really is no justification for the way this was done. Nobody says they can't do it, the questioning is about how it was done.
  11. Just cause they can doesn't mean they should. After allowing a rule to be broken for years and turning a blind eye it would have been good practice for them to make a statement that this particular rule was to be strictly enforced as of a nominated date. That is good customer relation and would have saved all this angst.
  12. You would be drawing a long bow if you're trying to paint that as racist or derogatory lol. I am a white male and feel no offence, please don't be offended on my behalf. Looks like it's a fairly common RP scenario, no big deal. Nothing earth shattering about it. Seriously ,people must have better things to do than be upset by inconsequential things in a game.
  13. Apart from having a working TV everything else you have mentioned here is doable. I can understand you doing some research before joining as I did the same myself before committing any money to the game and definitely trying out for a month is the best idea. Just note that the current price structure is a special associated with the corona virus. I've been here for a bit over 4 years and the game has certainly improved in that time. This year has seen an improvement in population due to people being at home and the smart move by the developers to offer discounted subscriptions. If you are wanting to customise your own places this is a great place to do that as you can create an unlimited number of different places without having to pay anything more than your subscription. I've played other games where you have to pay a monthly rent on properties, etc and that can become costly. Good luck with the game, I hope that you will find that it will suit your personal requirements.
  14. You may be right but I'm pretty sure that the devs don't want the headaches associated with having a marketplace, it would increase their own workload immensely in an administrative sense and create other issues. Go take a look at the forums of some of the other games where a marketplace exists and look at the drama and problems it creates. If this game becomes like all the others then it loses its attraction in my opinion.
  15. I do agree with you that there needs to be more additions to the male clothing, I've been here for more than 4 years and there's been very little added for us. I'd be happy with a little more of a selection at this point in time.
  16. Well how about users create designs, submit them to the devs, they add as they choose, no marketplace, no selling anything, fixed.
  17. I'm pretty sure they are referring to the apparent banning of people for placing ads in world chat and as far as who, I doubt anyone has any idea, it's all speculation at this point in time.
  18. Yes to more clothing but a big no to a marketplace from me. I can't imagine that it will ever be a thing here anyway as it would mean the developers would be taking on a whole load more of administrative duties. Too many issues are associated with such a thing, lots of drama, designers screaming about others stealing their designs, demands for takedowns, DMCA reports, nope, it won't ever happen. There's plenty of other places where people have those options if their objective is to make money from the game, the beauty of 3dxchat is it's simplicity and the lack of these dramas.
  19. That is not a photoshop, it's exactly what i saw too and i viewed the profile as well.
  20. Well as part of the EULA you agreed to this , right? 7. CancellationAt any time, and without cause, subscription to the service may be terminated by either: SGD Billing, the Site, or the Subscriber via webpage http://3dxchat.com/support/#cancel . Subscribers are liable for charges incurred until the date of the termination.
  21. The U.S Constitution and Laws have no jurisdcition outside of the U.S. if that's what you're suggesting.
  22. I know Lux but it would still make sense to let people know enough is enough, we won't allow it any longer, they have been complicit in allowing it to get to this point. It just seems to me to be good customer relations to give a warning in this case.
  23. The rule hasn't changed but after years of not enforcing it they suddenly are enforcing it strictly.
