Guest Lexii
In my line of work, I have met, taught and socialised with many Muslims and in every single encounter, they are a peaceful group of people. These are the true believers in Islamic faith and would never ever think of this atrocities that we have seen here recently. Do not ever think that every Muslim is capable of anything like this as it's just not true. Every religion has fanatics, every country had mentally insane people, and every city has evil people living in its walls. Yes, I am a proud Australian, but I am also one that is respectful of each and every person that lives here. No one religion, culture or background is "destroying my country" and it is not Australian to believe so. Individuals destroy lives, destroys property and brings turmoil. It is not anything but that. Camden
Catholicism is big here along with other religions. If I judge Catholics by the actions of a few then I stand on ignorance. I choose not to be ignorant (I am not Catholic but know that much). Baptist, many are considered to be sensationalist that only care about money. If I stand on that, again, I am standing on ignorance. I cannot take a part and accuse the whole. This is what stereotypes are made of. We could get deeper but that is not the purpose of this forum. The point is, as Lexii has laid out, is that you cannot take the actions of a sect to judge the whole. What is going on people? pashion, chaostika, Shanti and 1 other
ForOnlyOne
At 10am when i placed flowers on the arrangement in Martin Place it was small but elegant... now it's huge. This is my country... It's still the lucky country.. and we band together and show support during times like this and i admire my countrymen so much for this. But I to am afraid that the Muslim community will be forced to endure the backlash from this event... because of one fanatic - and mentally ill person.. I worry especially for the Muslim teenagers and young adults.I hope all will be well XxDavexX, chaostika, Hudson and 5 others
chaostika
just noticed today what happenend and I would like to express my solidarity and my deepest sympathy to everyone and especially to those families left behind, who have been affected by ALL these tragic events that happend on our globe in the past hours! i wonder if all this bullshit, of the sometimes called - beast human beeing - will ever stop or end?!!? ever?!? well up on till today, since we are walking on 2 feets or legs, its just like in the song below : silly monkeys killing other monkeys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdwYGu1o8gs ForOnlyOne
SweetHeather
While the 'I'll ride with you' sentiment is notable in thought. There is a more logical reality to be had here. If people are scared of backlash the last thing they want to do is give a route and ride with a stranger. for that very stranger may very well be that backlash. I would just suggest if anyone is scared to go to work that they pair up with friends/family people they know and can truly trust. I personally know I'd be the last woman to EVER give my information to someone I do not know simply for that reality.
