  1. Picked up a guitar to jam, camera got reset or something. Same thing on exiting the pose. Not a VR player, but would imagine VR players would hate that. Update: This seems to happen when using a pose off any object's menu while in fly camera mode. Third person camera behaves nicely. First person updates the camera too, but in a manner that makes a lot more sense.
  2. Workaround for fly camera -- you can still change camera modes via the screenshot UI, the camera icon in the upper left of the screen. Hotkey is ideal, but this will do for now.
  3. We need a bugzilla or flyspray (or similar free bug tracker). Would make de-duping and checking what's already known a lot easier.
  4. I am going to describe this bug as best I can, but so far everyone I've described it to has needed to see it in person. So, cut me some slack because this is a weird one. Everyone in this screenshot is confirmed using the 2.0 clientOnly my avatar is actually in the room picturedSomehow RobPathfinder's room and mine became linked. We could talk in the same local chat channel and see/interact with avatars in each other's rooms. Anyone -- not just my client -- who came into my room could see Rob and friends having fun. If they were doing couch poses, we could see them couch-posing where there was no couch in my room. Likewise, people in Rob's room could see me walking around in the middle of the air when I walked across the beds in my room. Tried closing my room and re-opening. Room remained linked to Rob's room. Tried restarting the client, then re-shared the room. May have fixed the problem? (We did not attempt to confirm if it merely linked with another room, such as one that had no 2.0 avatars in it) No idea how to cause this one to happen on demand. This might be just a fluke of magic.

I've had it happen once recently. If it's going to become a thing, then my ignore list is going to grow.
  6. I doubt they run the data center themselves. From the last outage I discovered it's being hosted by Cloudflare. This level of support does seem to imply we have a severely low tier of support. Or maybe it indicates that it is issues not in the data center hosting the server but actual configuration issues under the devs's control. I can make all sorts of reasonable sounding guesses to what the problem is, and all of them could be wrong. The lack of communication is the biggest problem, and I won't be the first to point that out; nor is it a case of time zones and sleep schedules for the lack of communication because we went through this song and dance but a few weeks ago with the login bug incident. It's really unfortunate because all it's doing is frustrating their customer base. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's not how you grow your business, especially in a niche.
  7. I've been playing for a few months now. This is the second time I've had a major issue. And based on my previous experience, we're not going to get the courtesy of a "what went wrong" report, which is really unfortunate.
  8. Many hours ago Lisa posted this comment in a similar thread: http://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/2864-lost-connection-to-server-again-i-bet-im-not-the-only-one/?p=143942 Could be the same thing again? I already know from the last login fiasco that we're hosted by Cloudflare, so this isn't exactly in the hands of our devs necessarily. I requires more datas. A major forum announcement sticky would not have gone amiss, even if all it said was "Shit be broke, yo."
  9. I'm not insane! I'm perfectly sane and everyone around me is just trying to steal my magic bag! >.<
  10. Update: Today friend told me they received the gold. I closed out of the game completely, logged back on, and got my bonus. And for some reason my ignore list is populated again (but only with names added before the weirdness, none of the new additions). Unsure if bug now fixed, or "turning it off and on again" was the fix. Edit: Yes, it's reset to the start of the gold-earning chain.
  11. Bumping this with some tech-tech talk on how to find the screenshots folder -- and also how to avoid needing to launch the game as Administrator for screenshots. Sometime, I have no idea when, Microsoft decided that enough was enough with programs needing to write to the program files directory. It's basically a cheap-as-free security measure to limit modifying programs to only the highest privilege. But this bit is boring so let's move on. The solution was to redirect writes to the program files directory by unprivileged programs to a space owned by the user. Navigating to this space is the trick. Here's the easiest way I know of to describe: Open the "Downloads" shortcut. In the top of the Explorer bar, you will see a construct like "Username -> Downloads".Click on the "Username" portion of that construct.Click the empty space next to the arrow next to "Username", you should get the ability to start typing. Type, including the back-slash, and press enter: \AppDataOpen the folder "Local"Open the folder "VirtualStore"Open the folder "Program Files (x86)" -- From here on out, you've probably figured it out, but I'm'a keep going.Open the folder "3DXChat"Open the folder "Screenshots"So you never have to do this again, go back to that top bar you typed in before, grab the little folder icon next to "Username" and drag it to your desktop or some such place that you like. Now you have a quick shortcut.I'd post screenies... but way too lazy to censor the private data. Hope this helps.
  12. Same as everyone else: no daily xgold, ignore list barely works (seems to slightly but not completely work during a single session for new blocks, but even that's flakey).
  13. I can confirm that I'm back in the game. This is the last post I shall make to this thread.* Hopefully we'll get a status report. * Unless it happens again.
  14. My account worked fine on the 8th, logged out night time USA EST. Afternoon-evening (again USA EST) on the 9th was the next time I tried to log in and had this issue. Others sound like they've been having the problem for a bit longer, so I'd say sometime morning on the 9th. Based on everything others and I have tried, this is account-specific. Rather, why should I get a new account -- whether I pay for it or they gift it -- if we don't know what caused the error, how they'll attempt to prevent it in the future, etc.
  15. Ok, you of all people definitely need to take a break from the computer and go outside then. I kid, I kid, all in good fun.
  16. If that somehow is the solution, I want a detailed explanation on how it came to enter that state. Especially given all my previous posts in this thread with results from trying those actions.
  17. I wonder if that is indicative of what the Real Problem behind the massive http://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/2731-cant-connect-to-servers/issue people are currently facing. Can someone confirm if this is happening and whether or not it is happening to people logged in or to people who can't login? Edit: At time of edit, the login issue is resolved so this request is now moot. Hopefully.
  18. Direct link: http://3dxchat.com/support/ For future reference: the Tech support form has a link directly above all the threads in the forum.
  19. I've run wireshark. I see the game client talking to the server. I see the server reply. <image deleted> Check it out. Red is the client sending data, blue is the response from the server. Then the game fails to log in. This is definitely server-side and account-based. If the TCP 3-way handshake happens, firewalls are out of the question. And most AV products. Server even replies, so that rules out AV products. Also, this was all working the previous night on March 8. People log in from other accounts on the same computer just fine. So far based on the little data people have posted in response to my earlier queries, this looks like a massive billing fuck-up that has marked accounts as expired subscription when they clearly have not yet expired. I even found http://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/2261-i-cant-log-in/where this exact scenario I'm describing has happened before apparently. To anyone who has not put in a support ticket already, please do so. Posting on this thread is nice, but tickets can't be ignored as easily and would provide a much easier metric.
  20. This has nothing to do with the patch, client, computer, Windows updates, ISP, router, DNS, or other usual suspects. Right now everything seems to suggest this is specific to individual accounts, as some people have either bought or have a friend log on to their accounts from their client and computer just fine, but their primary account doesn't work at all.
  21. So on the virtue of two data points of long-term subs bought this year plus all the monthly people, I'm going with "massive billing server cock-up" as head-canon until more facts emerge. Anyone who can get into the game, when did you buy your subs and what time unit did you buy? Approximate is probably sufficient if it was a while ago given the current working hypothesis.
  22. But when did you buy it? If you bought it this year, like I did with my 1-year, then it supports my wild guessing. If you bought 4 months ago, it doesn't. :3 Let's not jump on the conspiracy train please. Hanlon's razor is sufficient for the time being.
  23. Hmm... I'm starting to wonder if this is affecting people who paid this year. For example, some of the 6 mo or 1 year subbers who are getting into the game fine may have paid before January this year? Whereas monthlies paid recently, I bought a 1-year but I bought it in January and I can't login... are any of the people who can login monthly subbers? Or are they all longer-term subbers who paid before 2016? I'm just making up stuff as I go here in the hopes of breaking the black box. I could be completely off-base.
  24. See also our continuing rant at http://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/2731-cant-connect-to-servers/ Short story is this has been going on well over 24 hours for some by now. Also I've seen the ignore list issue posted elsewhere.
