SINsations is the product of many people's input, ideas, and suggestions for providing music & entertainment on a large scale to all of 3DX
 
We plan to be very active by organizing a variety of multiple weekly events, and showcasing some of 3DX's best DJs & user rooms. In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to some members of the community to join us in this endeavor. We look forward to super fun times, awesome parties, and of course some great music! We hope to see you all there!!!

Well I've been following this thread with interest. All I can add is, I'm very grateful for all who go above and beyond the call of duty to make our virtual world a more enjoyable place to frequent: Achilles for spending time and money to provide a platform for the live DJs, also to all the live DJs - 'official' and 'unofficial' - for the time, effort and money invested in providing their music and talent for us to enjoy, and to those people who turn their rooms into extra venues beyond the six provided by the game itself.
 
My take on all this? The devs seem quite happy to ride on the back of the efforts of their clients who provide something they should really cater for themselves. It would be a smaller, less ambient world without this group of people who give more than they take. To all of you, thanks

Again I would point out that you are probably hurting him more than helping him

They may be 2 separate issues Doc, but it also shows your lack of passion for music in general. To crusade against an entire genre of music because you dont "like" it while we are all surrounded by it on a daily basis is a very close minded. There are genres of music that I do not like. There are also lots of sub genres of EDM that I don't care for. I really don't like trance and hardstyle. But I also recognize and respect that other people do, and I will always support those DJs that play this music. Same as I will support any DJ who has a goal of entertaining people. This can be a win-win for all, but when you try to make it into a competition or make people feel like they are inadequate, you can't expect them to support you. 
 
Also like Nikki said... Your application and your issues with Achilles has nothing to do with the rest of us and what we do to entertain people. You and Hannah are not making many friends.

Again you are speaking of things you know nothing about. I don't have anything against his musical interests. Im not out to destroy rock music, I already said... I love rock music. I have told Doc personally that he is a good DJ and had you actually read this thread, you would know that his skill is not in question. Official DJs should support and help one another. He brings in an attitude of competition between DJs because of his crusade against anything that isn't rock music. Sorry, but I, along with others, don't want that. If that upsets you, then I'm sorry. it's nothing personal against him. Also, I think we can all do without the personal attacks. There's no need to try and belittle me just because you don't like what I am saying.

I'm sorry but I am kinda offended by parts of this post. Suggesting that the only reason we do this is for our own ego? Does it not seem logical that some people just really have a passion for music and like to share with others?
 
Here's something most of you are not aware of... Everyone thinks... hey I want to do that!!!  I want my turn!!  Let me explain everything so you understand fully.
First off, you cannot public stream with illegal software or illegal music. All those mp3s you converted from youtube... yes those are illegal and cannot be used. You also must use proper mixing / broadcasting software, which means no winamp.
 
Cost of streaming server... average about $10 / month depending on where you get it from.
Cost of software licence... I use VDJ 8 which the pro licence is $20 a month
Cost of music access... I use a service from VDJ called "Content Unlimited" which is $10 / mo (if you want to even think about taking requests, you will need access to a similar service)
 
So this is just my costs... roughly $40 a month that I pay out of my pocket just to do this. That's not even including the 3dx subscription.
 
And to have people tell me that I have a big ego and i'm doing this all for me. LOL You really don't want to know what I think of that... how about this... simply... if you don't like the music in 1 area... go somewhere else. Many people here know and will tell you, I heave streamed for 6-8+ hours at a time at Love Island taking requests the entire time and I have had countless people PM me and thank me for making their night more special. 
 
And to suggest that the DJ is a small part of why a room has a lot of numbers makes me laugh. The parties with good DJs pull in a lot of people. That's facts. That doesnt mean a good DJ will always get high numbers... but you will not get 70+ in a room with bad DJ, that i can promise you. 
 
Any good DJ here will agree that there's so much more to it than simply playing music. Reading how people react, knowing which tracks go good with one another, knowing what people want to hear. Theres so much more to being a good DJ than using winamp and playing random illegal tracks from youtube. There are people who will understand this, and there are people who will not.
 
If you have made it this far, thank you for putting up with my rant. In essence, I do this because I am and always have been passionate about music. Do I get a bit of an ego boost from it? Well of course I do but that's not why I do it. The idea that I have affected even just a few people and helped them to have a better night makes me feel fantastic.
