Neither of my posts were meant to be political. I made a statement answering a post I had seen about advertising and was simply stating that IF this were a violent game it would have NO problem advertising just about anywhere here in the states, BUT because it is "sexual" society looks at it as "taboo". As sex is "taboo" in the US and we have school shootings, perhaps there is a correlation. After all, MOST of these kids are going through puberty and having changes that are NOT allowed to be discussed in schools because Sex Ed is frowned upon. If you find that political and offensive, I'm sorry. I just feel this nation glorifies violence and pushes sex and love as something bad. Therefore, games like this can't truly grow like a GTA where they promote violence (and get press via people saying it is "too violent"... when was the last time you saw a sex game like this even mentioned in the news? IF you can't advertise in arguably the world's biggest market, how can you grow? I made a point NOT to discuss political position, party or name anyone except Stern and Liddy, which was done SOLELY to prove my point, talk about sex on terrestrial radio get fined out the ass, say you name your targets after a sitting president and his wife... not even a wrist slap or warning or an apology demanded.. ANYONE reading what I said as a politically charged statement, I am sorry. IF anyone was offended politically with my statements, I apologize neither of those were done with intent. Maybe I just wasn't clear enough.

I was trying to point out that there MAY be a correlation between our nation's prudish, way of looking at sex while promoting violence. You can show people getting killed violently, blood splattered everywhere, and yet someone has a "wardrobe malfunction" during a televised Super Bowl halftime and the government fines the broadcaster for indecency. Also, I think it was a reply about advertising the game being limited in the U.S.. You can show violence 24/7 but you show a lady's nipple or dare I say a penis or pussy and unless you're a subscription cable or online streaming channel, you're fucked. I mean Howard Stern was fined how many MILLIONS for TALKING about sex acts and having "nude" women on his radio show? Yet, G. Gordon Liddy, a CONVICTED FELON, talked on his radio show, about naming his targets on the gun range "Bill and Hillary", while Clinton was the sitting president and the FCC did NOTHING, no fine, no foul NOTHING. So, our own government is saying, you can kill people, talk about killing people but by God sex is EVIL and nasty and immoral. I mean we have a LARGE portion of this nation that doesn't even want sex education taught in public schools. That was my point, I just ended that post not wanting to get worked up or political.

You're welcome, I think we do need to add a little more. People like opportunities to be creative and this game because of the graphics and lack of having to pay in micro transactions, would be a great place for people to release that creative flow. We already see it in many who create beautiful builds. Thanks, I am sadly very political and this is one outlet I try to avoid saying anything. I agree every nation has mental health problems (most have better more available (affordable) healthcare than the States). Yes, I agree many countries share the same violence in media as Americans do, however, as pointed out they have a more available healthcare system, they aren't as prudish and frown on sex while almost promoting violence (Japan has nudity on tv and is far less as repressive as the US when it comes to sex and nudity) and yes, sadly, it is the availability of guns in the US.

I will drop this game like a hot potato if they go to micro-transactions. I have been patient in waiting for updates (sex positions), world editor is great IF you know what you are doing (I do not). The clothing isn't bad and definitely not something I would pay extra for. The gold system in place works. I agree microtransactions MAY start out to help the game develop (IF they need money but don't want to raise subscription prices) BUT that should only be for short term as they develop (like investing in the game) and the transactions should be of decent value for the price. Like the beer bottles or gifts (we do need more gifts). Sansar looks cool, not sure it is something I would get into as much as this game. Second Life, the few times I was there travel was difficult and it was empty, needless to say, I did not stay long because being there alone lost any attraction it held, especially when it is so hard to move around and the graphics are horrendously outdated. IMVU a money grab.

Again I can't quote because of the way this forum site is bugging for me. Veronica Lee... very good points. I think if the game allowed more creativity for the players it would retain a lot more people. Because as Rob said not much to this game except, dance, sex, and chat and sadly, that is not enough for some. I think that's why there is drama and people making alts and why people leave. I admit to being here for the social aspect and to some degree the sex, so I can handle the limited options here. My creativity is in being a green, red horned, with as one woman called it "cotton candy" haired avi and sadly, there are too many that will judge me because that is my way of being different in a game where the options to "look" different are so limited. The I think the positions are way too limited. For this, like a fool, I pay full price monthly for. I may end up creating a new green man when the sale hits. Going monthly, for me, was a way to say I can leave next month if something happens. There has been ONLY one time I was that close in the year and soon to be 2 months I have been here. I don't see me leaving BUT should it start becoming boring and more of my friends depart, I will. The game is what it is and because the target audience at least in the States where we will put PG 13 on violence but show 1 nipple and a realistic love scene it's an automatic R sex is still a "taboo" for MANY women and men. I don't understand it. But just look at the games that ARE advertised in mainstream media and how they promote violence but this would NEVER be allowed the same advertising platforms. It sucks and it is one explanation why we have kids killing kids in our schools. IF we taught our children that sex was good and violence unacceptable except in life or death situations, this nation would be a LOT safer. It's not a gun control issue, it's not necessarily a parental issue but it is, without doubt, a societal issue and the ONLY way to change that is to change how we regard sex and violence. //jumps off my soapbox, sorry for my political/societal rant.

I tried the theme change it sent me to my home profile page and worked then I cam back here and it's still a mess. So I can get there, I just can't stay there. As or browsers, I've tried all I have FF, Chrome, Opera, Edge. I wish this would end n it would just go back to the VBulletin type easy mode instead of this very old school can't really do much mode.

Stormbringer, i would have liked to have quoted you, BUT as I just stated in the post in Tech. my forum is screwy and won't allow me to. You are right there are MANY ways to "play". I am in game for a reason (to socialize and release sexual tension as my health pretty much has made this my main social life. (Not saying that is bad or good and don't want pity for it is what it is.) That said, I try to stay with people who are here to "socialize" as well. People who just want to "fuck" or create drama, I watch and if they cross my line I ignore them and just move on. I find it hard to just have sex and not have some passion or caring there. I can, but it becomes robotic and I may as well have virtual partner or watch porn. Now, for the naysayers, I have been in chatrooms and games for wow longer than some here have been alive and I know firsthand that lifetime friendships spanning countries can be started, as can romantic relationships. In fact, my first chatroom was on WebTV and 4 couples got married. Last I heard, 3 of which were still married and celebrating 20 years. The other sadly, the lady died. There are people that meet in non sex games, WoW, being a BIG one, the game I played in Steam and followed a friend here from, where friendships are made and couples actually find love. Now is it rare? DUH... but so is going to a local bar every night and finding that perfect mate or true friends (you'll find drinking buddies but how "real" are they if you decide to stop drinking every night? Same with online dating, like POF, Match, Our Time, etc... chances are you spend a bunch of money trying to get to know each other and hoping they didn't lie on their profiles. My point is romance and friendships are random and can hit ANYWHERE and at ANY TIME. Places like this, I think it is almost impossible NOT to develop real life feelings for someone you have sex with nd talk to on a daily basis. You may not be "physically" together BUT being the hippy I am I believe as long as the 2 people are HONEST, COMMUNICATE and desire the same thing, a romance or at the very least a true friendship can develop. The issue is, how does one know if the other person is telling the truth? Well, if you don't trust them how can you love them? And if they are being dishonest then it's wrong and hurtful and very bad for the game, in other words people that play with other people's feelings should be called out and should have a hard time finding their next victim. All in all, it boils down to being HONEST and RESPECTING the people here and telling them what you expect or want. Is it "just a game" to you and you don't desire to have any "true" friends here? OR are you here to socialize or RP or find romance ...etc? What is YOUR purpose in being here, be honest because you may change your mind and if you played with people's feelings, you may have destroyed any future trust. Conversely, IF you took it to a level and got hurt it doesn't mean you have to shut down because of it, just means you may have to choose who you trust better. In the end, everyone pays basically the same and so everyone has the right to play how they want and for whatever reason or end they want.

The game itself runs fine but I come here and what was once an easy forum to follow I have one that allows me to post period. I can't post pictures in my profile like I used to, or in my messenger, or even here on the boards. i can't even post links. It's been like this for awhile now and I kept thinking it would go back or that it was an update since it started shortly after the the new test download. Then I mentioned something to my friend and she said no the forum is the same as it always has been. I have tried my desktop thinking maybe it was just my laptop, but I get the same thing. Is it on my end and if so what did I do to change it so I can get it back? Was my account hacked? It makes it very hard to follow or do anything. Even sending messages I have to go through my friends list click on the friend and go to their messages. I'd post screen shots BUT I can't post pictures or even links. So, I am screwed.

My laptop (which I use for the game 99% of the time) is a Dell Latitude with 4GB RAM, 300GB HDD, a gen 2 i5 2.5, with integrated graphics. It works fine for the most part unless I go into a crowded room and have the music on when I leave said crowded room. Now the graphics aren't that great I have them set on low. When I play my PC 16GB RAM, 3 TB HDD (with a 64GB SSD boot disk), a Gigabyte GTX1030, with a gen 6 i5 2.7. I don't have half the lag or freezes or crashes regardless of room. I play higher graphics (just shy of max) of course. This handles MOST every game. I could stand an upgrade in the GPU but prices for better are outrageous due to the cryptomining fools (lol). The ONLY other problem I have is internet speed and that is my ISP's fault than the game's.

At least until I have a true desire to learn.

Ah, but therein lies the problem, I truly am about as technologically challenged as a newborn. The sad part is I just don't have the time, the desire or the patience to learn. I'd love to, I just suffer from Americanitis where if it can be done by someone else.... (that will get me into trouble because not many Americans will admit to such a thing and many will take umbrage and offense, and in all honesty my admitting I have it is as much a slam on me as anyone.)

I plan to open a room soon (one from the forums that was generously made public, haven't decided which) anyway, I want a specific kind of DJ one who can play Prog Rock (mainly Moody Blues, Styx, ELP, YES, Dream Theater, Rush, Saga, King Crimson, Tull, early Floyd, etc) and not just common pop cuts but DEEP cuts. The second DJ I am looking for is one who can play comedy such as Kinison, Pryor, Monty Python, Bob Newhart, Carlin, Murphy and so on.

I think I am one of the last to complain about sex poses... but THIS tripe is BS. I am sorry, but seriously, new poses would help immensely more than "blurring the background' and drunk option (although I admit that sounds cool.). Aug 5th I'll be here a year and I think we got 2 poses. I am more into the making a picture in the mind and going from there, however, imagination can only go so far when the poses are so generic and limited.

The game's requirements aren't that steep Anyone who games with Steam, or Origin or GOG has enough to play this game. Sadly, the only solution maybe limiting the rooms to a certain sustainable occupancy, the con to that is why punish the people who create the rooms?

It happens to me on my laptop, my solution is adjust your graphics and when going into a BIG and busy room turn the sound off. It doesn't always work (like I will have to reboot when someone closes a room while I am in it) but for the most part it keeps the game at a decent stability for me. Now my PC which is far stronger and can run the graphics on max, will still have sound issues slowing down bigger, more crowded rooms. I hope this helps. I have missed seeing you .

Interesting. I can relate to a certain degree, especially at present. This game is a double edged sword for those of us who have esteem issues (which I believe most people here, if honest, would admit to). Here there are people that will give us the attention we seek out and because of that, we tend to at times put more value on them than they do on us, so we transfer our ideas of what we have to that person or those people. I admittedly have done this and still am having a hard time not doing it. This is where the bad part of the sword comes through and guts us. We tend to get mad when we feel slighted (and the object we feel slighted us, doesn't even realize there is an issue is as serious to us as it is, because we transferred our unattainable expectations of how they should feel and act towards us without realizing it. When this happens, we realize we are wrong, but in our pain and desire to get the other to validate our feelings (even though all they can do is acknowledge they understand we feel that way, but somehow because we were on a "level" with them we expect more. This leads to more craziness and irrationality. The important thing that we must remember but is hardest to, is no one can value us more than we value ourselves, no one can truly ever love us as much as we need to love ourselves. It is easy for us to believe someone else does when they give us attention and respect we may otherwise be missing. However, we must remember that they can only love us as much as we love ourselves and that our self esteem and value is NOT based on how they feel about us (whether real or imagined) but how we feel about ourselves. Now, my irrational way of doing this is to nuke the bridge not just burn it and make my apology and cut them from my life. Nuking the bridge to me is important because that does not allow me to go back to them and possibly allow those feelings to regrow. (I know it is an irrational rationalization, but it helps me. Also, I try to be very up front with how I do have a dark side and that if they start to see it and feel insecure, to tell me. Sometimes they see it and tell me then it is up to me to listen or ignore... sadly they get so lost in my attention as well they don't see it coming or ignore the warnings as well. The ONLY answer is open and honest communication and this place can be very hard to find that. I do believe it is there. Anyway, I hope this helped, it was actually therapeutic to write out and think about.
