Saerina Posted January 25 Posted January 25 This may sound a little... naïve I guess? but I can't help but feel like I've lost a friend on here. Every time I see them on any conversation I try to start never goes on passed the initial hello and they just don't seem interested in even chatting with me anymore. Part of me can't help but think it's because this is someone I met when they were in a relationship within someone else, open nothing exclusive, and that person has since vanished entirely. I'm too afraid to ask what happened but I know things were getting a little rough irl for the one that left. Now I can't help but wonder if they were only friends with me because of that other person or if I maybe did something wrong. Every conversation basically goes: "HI there!" "Hey you! how've you been?" etc etc basic pleasantries before suddenly I feel dropped off. I'm at the point where I don't know if I should just let go and unfriend to save myself the feeling of being put up with or not. I literally at the point where I'm afraid to ask, and with my social anxiety even via a game being well known by this person I wonder if they honestly just don't care anymore. A message about them being busy or just not feeling like talking instead of these arms length vibes I've been getting would be nice but if they really don't want to talk to me I'm too afraid to ask.
CuriousTim Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I've been here myself, as you said.. the best thing is just unfriend them and move on.. no matter how hard it is.. had to do it myself and losing some friends hurt way more than others.. But you can't change them, the only reasonable option you have is just to try to move on.. it will be difficult at first, but eventually.. you'll be able to move on..
Alleycat30 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Yes, the best thing is to let yourself move on. And don't dwell on it, or become obsessed. Try to stay cordial, because it's actually a rather small world in the long run.
