If I was an asshole....

I'd make a room using another account and sell things others made as mine till things got too hot. Then I would make another room with a new account and repeat till it got too hot again.

I might open a brothel and require patrons to 'donate' for 'services.'  And after payment or poor service or no service, simply close up and laugh at how i just scammed them.

For a donation' up front will show you a good time in my place. And after payment, simply close the room. Rinse and repeat.

"Oh Gizmo...I'd love to cam for you on skype, but my dog died, I have no money...and I really need $50 dollars to pay for my daughters life saving treatment...you sexy hunk of man you. But, if you wanna help poor little me, you can donate in my room and I'll meet you on Skype."

 

One last one...but there are so many I've seen.

 

If I was an asshole...

I'd use a room and the donate feature to claim to provide complete hosting packages. I'd offer - for a fee up front, to provide DJ's  greeters, and and dance teams to make your club popular. I'd pay some and not others. I'd promise to pay them and when I can't put them off anymore I may take what I made delete that account and lay low for awhile till I thought of how to pull that off again.

 

Just a few things to think of.

Last 4 aren't your problem. That is user to user, but you will hear complaints for sure and will need to spell that out.   First one is though.

 

I seen all these happen on major MMO titles, you can not prevent it but you shouldn't let it stop you from trying to make things better. 

Just wanna say thank you to Torax and Angixoxo who offered free rooms as well as other creations. Was able to use and combine them to make my room into what I wanted. Still working on making it perfect for what I want. No I won't be posting a patreon page link for me, if any one ever wanted to DJ there and asked to that I may do.

To be clear I personally don't think you should share some ones work if they are against it. with that clear

You can change ten percent of any patent, then re patent it as yours. It would be easy to simple change ten percent of any room. That is real world business.

I thought about this as well, one of those people that will do something but never is it free. For me the cost of my time is to make my environment better to suite what I want. But also if people asked some one to make a room they could simple say sure but if you get donation could you send me X amount of a percentage. This is of course based on honor system as well it takes more than a nice room to get peoples attention.

I can see different aspects of this, claiming I almost fully agree with Torax's statements above.

It would be easier to tip the DJ straight for what they do, show them how much you appreciate their time and effort. Though you never go to a club and pay the DJ anything, they get tipped out or paid by the organizer. Sure the later makes things more complicated but that is why you have managers/organizers for events and they are keep honest by the want to do more. No DJ or entertainer will work with some one again if they feel ripped off.

As for the builders we have several that spent a lot of time making very nice rooms,  I can imagine the how they would feel if some one DLed their work and turned around to make a profit, this will probably kill the free rooms being offered. I know if I built them I wouldn't any more for free. Though I would hope any one that makes a profit from them would in turn give a decent amount to the original builder, more so if they just open the room and AFK for profit.

 I can see this as a win for big event organizers that manage them properly but its not going to be all win. Would still like to see this option directly on profiles so people can show direct gratitude and hopefully if you DL a free room you give credit to the builder.
