I hate doing double posts but your response came and went while I was checking my spelling and stuff. I think I get where you're coming from, Niblette, like you're saying that if people don't know where you're going directly then there's a good chance they'll grab the wrong end of the stick. The idea of going in to a debate thinking you have the answers really goes against the grain with me. Like it's about trying to open you mind to new ideas, new solutions, new opinions. For myself, I'd sooooo hate to miss that.

We're drifting away from the light hearted bit, but I do honestly believe that most problems can be resolved by people talking through things and reaching some kind of agreement. For example, and it's not one I see as important but it'll do, there's been some discussion about people wanting more poses rather than stuff to build things with. Some people like the poses to trigger their imaginations some people don't. Some people like to build, some people are crap at it, like me. An honest discussion gives the devs a sense of how people overall feel about the two views and can direct their attention to one rather than the other. Sort of like once a synthesis is reached it can be tested and if good the devs can get on with that instead of playing Plants v Zombies knowing it'll be welcomed by the community.

If you have a solution there's not point in disucssing it, surely? It becomes like those awful meetings where the boss demands you take an hour out from doing stuff you need to do to hear him say something he could have put in an email you could have read in five minutes. Edit here 'cos I got sidetracked by rl - isn't debate about thesis, antithesis, synthesis ---> new thesis, antithesis, synthesis ........ and so on until a secure thesis (theory) is discovered? OMG put liek that it sounds like Trotsky's theory of permanent revolution ..................... lolol. Heavy stuff for a Saturday night and after a couple of glasses of good Argentinian Malbec.

Isn't it funny how I got attacked by RobT and Co for suggesting that as few as 20% of 3dx Chat users are women. You can't have it both ways Intercessional, either the genders are evenly matched as you suggested when you attacked me in my 'Does 3dx Chat need more women' thread or they aren't. Which is it to be? Of course Intercessional won't answer because he can't without making himself look foolish. He'll only do that when his mates are back and they can derail the thread and get it pulled. Either way they'll make themselves look foolish.

I've just skimmed through all this again and yeah, it is clear that Intercessional is unable to present a decent argument. The OP was about how threads about potentially interesting topics get turned bad and then get deleted. We've seen it time and time again. We're seeing it now, Intercessional doing his best to piss people off. Well he's going to have to work a bloody darn sight harder to do it this time. We've grown wise to his silly little games.

Exactly as I thought, more of the same. Intercessional seems worried, clutching at straws to try to discredit people who are able to present a good case. There's no need to publicise what this is about but November 17th at 18:43 rather makes Intercessional out to be someone who misues information. That is one of the things these people do, simply because it pisses people off. Well in this case I am amused because ...................... well there's no need to explain. Oh and btw, at the risk of being a bit patronising. An Intercessional is one who prays on behalf of others, or intercedes on behalf of others. I suggested before that this could be RobT, we don't really know but the way these people support each other suggests that there are far fewer of them than the number of characters posting would suggest. What they don't like now is a number of people standing up and saying that they've had enough of this crap and that they want to force the trolls out from the forums. There's been some successes too, which is why they're tryign so hard to stir things up again and trying to suggest that RobT will return like and avenging angel and make life nice for them again. I hope somebody has reported Intercessional for the post about Macey, that is exactly the kind of thing these people do, I will for good measure.

And it took Intercessional three weeks to work out such a witty and incisive repost! The snow's almost gone now, my hens are happily free ranging round the garden going after worms and other yummy creepy crawlies.

There are some accusations which should be ignored, but there are some that should be challenged and reported. The alt one is easy to ignore unless it can be used to weaken the trolls’ point. Some of the other stuff we’ve seen over the past few months has been down right abuse. They get away with it because people don’t want to keep making reports. It is, however, the only weapon we’ve got to reclaim the forums back from the trolls. I think what we’re seeing now is a big build up to something, see certain diaries as well as this thread. It’ll probably just be more of the same in that they’ll try and make this thread turn bad. Maybe one or two others.

Yeah, to deal with these people you have to put yourself in a place where they can’t touch you. The problem is that if it suits them to accuse you of being a militant feminist woman they will do so. In the next breath they will accuse you of being a bloke. It is very annoying to be made out to be someone you aren’t, and that is why they do it. They also accuse people of being alts because they know it is annoying. Similarly with accusations of dodgy mental health issues, not being real and stuff like that. It is all about preventing anybody but the trolls from having a voice. I think that most people get a sense of who is posting over time and are happy to accept them as they are. The trolls can’t do this, they have to attack people, grind them down to feed their egos.

Intercessional shoots himself in the foot again. He also seems to have forgotten getting himself ridiculed when he said Desirea was me, well me as Ciera anyway. I guess it’s only to be expected, it’s what he does to be annoying. I think everybody is getting wise to these funny little games now.

He's being deliberately cryptic to get us all drunk so he can have his wicked way ................................................. putting the clues together I'm coming up with an 'A' which isn't a lot of help to anyone. I'm just thinking our American friends might prefer 'Old Kentucky Gold' to the real stuff from back home.

It's back again here, and in a big way too. For us about 20 to 30 cm is quite a lot, with drifting in the lanes. The village is pretty well cut off but I did manage to get in to town yesterday to pick up prescriptions and shopping for people in the village who couldn't get out. I got back just in time before the heavy snow really got going, but even then idiot drivers were driving too fast and too erratically to be safe. We brits just don't do snow well at all. I even got hooted at by some nutter trying to overtake as I was tootling along really well in my little car. The hens have refused to come out of their coop, even refusing to get down in to their run, so they're getting room service. This means their water doesn't freeze over as it's propped up in the coop with them.. They don't realise it yet but they'll have a rude shock when I turf them out so I can muck them out later. They're still laying though so we can always eat eggs if the village is cut off for too long! A slow thaw is forecast for tomorrow so prolly back to normal by Wednesday.

I think we're meant to be scared. :-)
