Yes maybe bait threads will be done, but wouldn't that be where the forum moderator will come in ?

We have to find a way where people will be prepared to start threads for discussion again, the way it is now that isn't happening and hasn't been for some time.

Most of the discussions are endiing up in threads like this one, is that the way we want it to stay ?

Plus as I have pointed out, what is wrong with giving it a try, it can be easily reversed if it does not work.

What do we have to lose and what may we gain is what I think people should be thinking about.

We can clearly see that as soon as certain people become involved in any discussion it quickly turns from a discussion into insults.

Even in this thread since everything that’s gone on some people can’t make a point without stating that anyone who thinks differently is a snowflake, or a liberal, or a social justice warrior, or something designed specifically to incite. Using language designed to incite an emotional retort rather than a rational counter or a continuation of the discussion at hand either to provoke or to shut down conversation and give the appearance that you “won”.

Take a look at how people with radically different opinions can have a discussion without insulting each other.

I don’t think self moderating threads would alleviate that only sustained moderation and community peer pressure makes clear it’s unacceptable. I can see that the diaries section could merit from this sort of feature but I think it will just get used for people to post bait threads with impunity. We shall see.

I don't give a rat's ass about moral high ground. Repetition gets boring. Seeing and saying the same stuff over and over gets us nowhere. So I'm gonna go back to how I was before this self righteous pity party and do what I've been advising... move the fuck on.

I agree with that. Glossing over that I think you’re aiming it only at one side of the conflict as is your way. I feel as if you mean it to everyone involved but you won’t say that, I can understand why.

Did you? A couple of hours doesn’t really count and if you just hand off the baton it doesn’t really count either but nice attempt to climb that moral high ground. Interestingly i’ve tried it too, it doesn’t work but i’m not very nice so I don’t expect more from myself.

Anything said at this point is reactive. Provocation does not solve problems.

Well you all seem to know me better than I know myself.  I can handle an adult conversation without making comments, insults, veiled or masked harassment.  I'm direct and always will be.  As far as the messages go, you should see the ones I'm getting for support, it's astounding.

I’ve never seen you have a conversation. All you do is quote others and make statements about yourself or about things that can’t be verified as if they are established fact.

Perfectly valid points? I said that he was an asshole. So technically I agreed to the truth. When the finger is pointed at me for something someone else is doing why would I take sides with such people who would rather spread lies in order to gain validation (at me directly) than admit fault in their actions?

I've explained enough.... I'm over this. Again I don't need anyone's approval of how I handle things. If you don't like what I do that's ok, you don't have to. That's the beauty of it... you can disagree and it will not bother me in the slightest.

I know you don’t need my approval, i’m just interested. Speaking for myself I don’t believe i’ve pointed any fingers at anyone except to call them on hypocrisy and trolling, antagonising, call it what you will. I haven’t spread any lies about anyone.

My point was, You appear to be a bit like me, I apologise if that’s insulting but I don’t mean it as such. What I mean is, you don’t really give a fuck about all the personal drama or history that appears to be underneath this. In your case you’re just supporting a friend. In mine well I have my reasons. Yet the interesting part is the behaviour of that friend is exactly the same, perhaps worse. Neither of us are quite sitting on the fence but you seem prepared to support things I wouldn’t. So i’m curious?
