Playing on iMac with Apple Magic Mouse and Keyboard

 I am having trouble using my Apple Magic mouse and Magic keyboard in the game.  They work, but not very well. I find I difficult to Zoom out and gain perspective in any number of situations. I find it difficult to stop walking when I can see the floor near my feet.  Does anyone have any suggestions for more effectively using the Magic Mouse in the game. I'm willing to buy a different mouse or its equivalent. 

I've read in the user manual that some of the function keys are mapped to specific functions, e.g. F5. With the Magic Keyboard F5 doesn't do anything. Is there a way I can map the function of the keys? 

I'm using Windows 10 64bit from BootCsmp.
