It was great sadness that I woke up this morning to hear the sad news of the death of the great comedy actor Gene Wilder, at the age of 83. I have many fond memories of his many films, from first seeing him as Willy Wonka, to his films with Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor. But this is only part of his legacy he was also a writer and a campaigner for cancer awareness. So here, I would like to say thank you. Gene Wilder for all the wonderful memories. It was hard to pick one favourite, but this one has always been one of many that always makes me smile. The laughter will never die!
