Could we please have custom texture surfaces?

I know some of us been asking for this for a very long time but it has not been added yet, I can imagine how texture work across object using same texture type internally aligns in continuum. But could we at least get option where it extend to only one part the surface(on maybe specific item model) that would allow use to make information note on surface, add picture/painting decor or things like shop surface etc. or whatever other ways we might use it creatively.

Particular for themed room or roleplaying rooms, being able to relay informations would be appreciated without having to explain it to every visitor individually, or some alternative way of adding information boards with text without having to build text via objects would be greatly appreciated. Assume many more feel same way, but topic is up now in case you feel like diving in with your opinions out there
