Niblette Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I was thinking and it seems to me it would be nice if there were objects that moved in the world editor. For example an elevator that goes up and down when a button is pressed. An escalator that is constantly on, or a train or cruise ship that stops and starts at various stations or docks. I think that it would allow for larger worlds without having the issue of people crashing cars, planes, or boats into things if it was setup to run on timers or button presses. For the train example it might also be necessary to be able to tie how fast the wheels spin to how fast the train is moving forward. THX, panCDCA, SpearMint and 6 others 9
☙𝔼𝕩❧ Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I don't want to know how problematic it can be. Nice idea !
Rochi Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I'm voting no considering the amount of work and time it would take to make this happen.. I just think there's at least a dozen better things the dev's time could be used on x) LovelyBritney, Tauri, RobT and 5 others 8
SpearMint Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I think something simple like how we have a light cube we can reshape maybe have something similar and assign textures or a group of primitive shapes to it?From there maybe have it run on a simple "pathway" ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 1
NiceKati Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I think that this is not so complicated as it seems at first glance: Considering that you can move groups of objects in world editor there is only a user interface missing for using these functions in game also. The same way a boat can be moved through the ocean and keeping the front of it in the direction of movement, you could "drive" a car or fly e.g. a helicopter in the vicinity of your "home", carrying the avatars, which use their own sight system (1st person, 3rd person or free camera) to watch the ride/flight.The only thing missing is the user interface like a remote control for modellling; no automatic is required, if you drive the boat or car or fly the helicopter or baloon or Zeppelin yourself. JuicyJina Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 In my opinion, Those features will cause destruction to the game as it is already unstable with just an animated ocean.... so imagine someone creating a room full of escalators or such.... tho the elevator idea is more reasonable that trigger on request... TashaTight Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Maybe if we had some premade moving object options that can get activated with simple triggers, imagine you will have to do some level of coding otherwise similar to how you need to in other places. Think if you need coding for it would be to complicated for most to figure out, plus if we have some pre-existing made ones would make it that size of object script aren't too big or complex either.
LenaFox Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 OMG, that would be so cool. 3DX gave us cars that we can drive. (well sit in at least) But to moving cars that would be amazing. As Kimmy says pre-existing OMG getting excited again. Is it to much to ask for , ooh pls can we get this one. we could have race days. OMG please pretty please with lovely cream on top. Rodin 1
Heden Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I would just love to have open-able&closable doors, sliding doors, elevators, some sort of moving platforms and TP spots... Would make worlds a lot more dynamic. uncle and CrazzyLuv 2
Wendy Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Of course a feature like that would be awesome but like others said, it's way too complicated and super low priority right now. A simpler way to simulate such things would be teleporters which would be a lot easier to code. chaostika and ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 2
Looana Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Would already be a Start to turn and scale the Materials and Patterns
THX Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Would love to have this and it isn't very difficult.. 15 year old's make Unity games with tanks, cars, etc and this guy made a simple elevator in 7 mins. But then again, neither would adding a decent pair of swim trunks for men be either. ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 1
Leeloo Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I voted no because if i want play the sims i ..... uuuh .... well.... i play the sims lol ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 1
☙𝔼𝕩❧ Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Animated objects or something else is a good stuff if this is good created. Amount of work and time is not our problem, but the problem of developers. Poll was not about when.., but about the particular feature. Maybe not at first place in devs schedule and not at second, but anyway it is a good idea to realize in next year or century. Question was "Should the world editor have moving objects?". My voted yes, why not? THX 1
panCDCA Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I think doors that opened and closed would be cool. Escalators and moving sidewalks would be cool for those rooms that have you walk forever to get to the dance floor. THX and ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 2
VladT Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 yes for me.if the devs are working on pose .... they can add pose also for objects ☙𝔼𝕩❧ 1
Aliviax Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 now world editor has moving objects but saddly the only one that moving is our rooms ,moving into other ppl hands without our consent AKA stealing hahahaahaGizmo made it with no patch hahaahahahaah
