Well I am an old school gamer from the age of 5 so 33 years I've been gaming and it has shaped my life from living by the old knight's code of honor to taking up melee weapons training and being driven to help others. I have had an uphill battle most of my life with the odds against me. Having been almost killed on more occasions than I care to admit walking away almost unscathed all things considered. I am either the luckiest s.o.b. in the world or someone's looking out for me somewhere. I have been told I'm relentless once I put my mind to something like a siege. I've used the name Von many, many times and it's comfortable to me, so Vonsiege was it and being dyslexic I spelled it wrong transposing it to Vonseige. So there you go.

As long as I can remember I've always been surrounded by people who have told me what I should do, who I should see and who I should be, etc, etc.

So at an early age I just let them turn me into an eclipse, preventing my natural light from shining or growing.

 

As I've grown older I fight hard to stay out of the shadows of my eclipse and try to shine the way I was meant to shine...Bright, Happy and for Me !!!

Who knows if its right or wrong, I just know its what I had to do to save me from disappearing into permanent darkness...Go Me !!!

I want to know how you came up with it.

 

To start with mine "EricaLeigh" it was quite simple. It is just my first and middle name. It was just something quick I came up with.

Actually, when I chose my name, I checked what everything meant on a porn site. Like what does every name mean in a porn actress name?, So here it goes:

 

Cathy: Attracted to the older man, needs ironing. (I like older men the most, and also my real name is Catherine)

Dee: Enormous mouth, gets a lot of work in porn movies. (I enjoy giving blowjobs)

Foxx: Common last name in porn. (Also the animal I respect the most. It is the most cunning and mischevious animal in the forest, at least in Sweden!)

I have used the name Concerto in games for the last ten years. It has connotations with regard to my rl family situation. 

I played Achat for a couple of years and started using the tag line "a wretch whom nature's ashamed to acknowledge hers" because I felt that it summed up how some people may feel about my intersex condition. It is said tongue in cheek and in no way corresponds to my own feelings on the matter. 

The quote is from "King Lear," by Shakespeare, and is made by Lear with regard to his youngest daughter, Cordelia, because he is annoyed with her for disobeying him, when he is trying to marry her off (it is slightly modified from the original, due to the maximum length of text allowed in Achat).

When I started playing 3DXChat, I found that the name Concerto had already been taken so it was quite natural to switch to using the name Cordelia.

This is probably going to be the dumbest story here but.....

 

In 2002/3 I started beta testing an MMORPG called Star Wars Galaxies. It was my favorite game I have ever played, but due to mismanagement by the company that made it, was soon ruined to the point that myself and every friend I had quit at nearly the same time.

 

A few years later a bunch of former players with programing skills got together and started working on an emulator for the game as it was when we all loved it. During the summer of 2011 that emulator got to a point where the game was fairly playable so I hopped on one night on a whim and made a test character. I let the game's software give my test character a randomly generated name: Eukro Gamun. See, I wasn't intended to do anything more than just look at the emulator's progress so I didn't bother with adjusting the character, giving her a story, a name or even alter her appearance. 

 

Soon after I logged in, I met a couple of people that caught my interest. They were role playing and I just couldn't help but play along. Next thing I knew, Eukro came to life. She had a story, a personality, wants and desires. I ended up meeting someone that pulled me into a different game, and for whatever reason, I just decided on a whim to bring her name with me. Since then that name and character have taken on many different incarnations in various games. When one of my most important friends came to this game, she hounded a bunch of us to give it a try. A few months later.... I did. 

 

TL;DR - It was a randomly generated name from a different game because I was too lazy to be bothered thinking one up.

Hmm.. this name comes from the last Star Wars tabletop RPG I played. I rolled a female Mandalorian bounty hunter: Calista Fett. Her name came from Calystho, human partner of the goddess of the hunt Artemis. Callista in here came from the fact she was also supposed to go "on the hunt" but I used the double L (CaLLista) as reference to my first name, a composed name with the initials LL.

 

On this game Callista was originally a roleplaying alt (her would be bio being "Chronicles of Callista" on the User Diaries section) my main was the redhead Rubria (a pun with "rubro", which is one of the translations of red to portuguese). But I ended up making so many friends on Callista that she became my main and Rubria was deleted.
