Kinksters INC.
Poll is not fair enough. Because edm, dubstep, hardstyle, trance are all sub genres of ''electronic music''. Metal is stand alone genre, country also stand alone genre as well rock. that would be better if u gather all electronic based genres (dubstep, edm, hardstyle, trance) as ''Electronic Music'' by doing this generally electronic music would have chance to stand alone against rock and metal. Now I like dubstep, edm and trance and house also what should I vote for? If I vote for dubstep it's not fair if I vote for trance again it's not fair Rob. and XxDesireexX

chloe
I love electric music and Rock but... both have a lot of sub categories I don't like, like Hardstyle and Speed Metal to just name two. I would prefer the DJs have to choose the right music, they are responsible to rock the house and if their taste will be shared by the audience is nothing you can check with a poll. Just my humble opinion. Keep on hosting good none sexual parties, to stop the "fuck no chat" rooms to take over Edited April 28, 2017 by chloe XxDesireexX and Rob.
Guest Mulan
I have played all sorts of different genres in my 2 years here. Celtic, classical, funk, blues, jazz, hip-hop, rock, metal, country, swing, west-end musicals, folk, Indian, Afrobeat... People will come and listen as long as the music is good. It is not about who you want to be, "I want to be the most successful DJ". It is about what you want to do, "I want to do music I enjoy playing". When you do something that you enjoy doing then the people will eventually follow. When I first hosted a party with 7 widely different genres there were people who said that it wouldn't work. It was a huge success, people loved hearing something that wasn't rock or EDM. I have nothing against rock and EDM, but try something different and I think the 3DX community will surprise you. You shouldn't have to ask the community what they want. Kyaleah, Rob., chloe and 1 other

I make a lot of partys and i like to know what the most people like to hear. I couldn´t be here for 24/7 to go on each party to read the comments. If you have anything to say post it. If you have nothing to say pls let it be. oolisa and Rob.
oolisa
my tastes and genres change like my moods. I'm kind of a DJ whore so i will play a genre that fits the room and the event.. Sometimes i spin in my room playing some of my more obscure sets but no one shows up there anyway LOL I especially like to play tunes no one has heard before but most partys are filled with a variety of people so it is important not to alienate the room and clear the room. This dictates spinning to the least common denominator and that ends up being Rock as most people here in 3DXland seem to be older folk who like to relive their youth hearing the older tunes that bring up memories of a funner time.. I have specialized in female rockers and have extensive sets of girl growlers and metalheads. Rock is so common with so many gangs specializing that genre It is hard to break into those gangs as they exclude new talent. Plus they get harshed by other genres other than what their DJ's are allowed to play. I refuse to spin Thunderstruck but whatever. Lately Synthwave has become a passion and notice, above, no one has mentioned this unique and exciting genre. Try eet you'll like eet Gigs also dictate playing requests which tend to help include people to the scene and let one know what genres are most appreciated by the attendees. Requests also help to expose oneself to new and sometimes unique tunes that otherwise would not be explored. I love that part about requests. Of course requests can also upset the normal flow and mood created by consistent tuneage but that is the price one pays for doing requests and not being an ass about it. By the way. I am the one Country vote but no one likes country here except for true blue, red blooded country girls. My greatest room numbers have been playing my pussy thumper tunes for the sex rooms. Love providing that service to the colders and fukkers needing drainage and happiness. This is a fucking game and sex IS fun. I can't understand why anyone would play this game and not take advantage of the awesome graphics and poses here. but then i was a successful Tier 3 RP escort in IMVU and simply got tired of separating guys credits from their wallets. LOL was way to easy and i was way too good at it. Alliehotass, Rob. and XxDesireexX
Sheyde
Let's stick to the basics already listed and leave the sub genres to the DJ's to please their listeners and define themselves as an individual, without too much outside input, therefore letting their stage presence develop organically. Hearing a DJ's personal favs makes it seem all the more real, like listening to the radio while driving your car. I mean, isn't it so exciting when you hear a song you love by mere chance?!?! When we start splitting hairs, it just gets unnecessarily complicated and rooms might begin to shrink with attendants if you only appeal to specific sub genres. If someone started playing some of the sub genres of music I listen to (which I don't even know what to call some of them. Eerie, shrill drug induced goth country pre-punk folk rock?? Is that a genre?) then the room would be empty except for me and the poor DJ who is brave enough to play what I like to hear for the entirety of their set list. I know my opinion doesn't really mean much not being a DJ and all but what I do know, is that I love it when I hear the hidden little gems that come out of nowhere in a room with a wider based music genre, which sometimes gets everyone on their feet, despite me not even liking the tiny sub genre of music (which this said song comes from) in the first place, which suddenly now I love. Chances are it's just the band. That being said, a sub-genre usually only contains a few good bands within it, therefore also limiting the amount of bands which a person can play over a period of time. I remember when music was an experience and the sub genre was just the sound of the band, then you had other bands which sounded somewhat similar yet a little different. Funny how things became so defined, then refined, then ... *yawns* By the way, thanks Mu for putting up with my irritating requests. LOVE YOUUUU!As for the rest of you DJs, just keep doing what you're doing. I find you all pretty entertaining anyway. I'll show myself out ... *tiptoes out and quietly closes the door, then tries to select every genre listed because she has a soft spot for them all, but can't* XxDesireexX, oolisa and Rob.

Rob.
True story, I was once in a group whose leader decide to play one type of music genres only. It was and still is awful. Mainly because it was limiting the DJ to a genre they really did not like or were not familiar with. So they started picking the same song and different variations of the song. Speeding up or slowing down the same songs even the combination of slowing down a different version of the same song became repetitive, talking in a whisper or voice that sounded more timid then confident and fun, well killed the fun. After a while I stopped attending the parties due to boredom and falling asleep to what my brain dubbed elevator music. When a DJ plays a genre he or she loves musical gems come out. Prime example is Volbeat and In This Moment, whose songs are becoming regular like Metallica and AC/DC (Thunder). A DJ with a passion for their musical genre knows that every artists puts out a song the general public may like but has many other songs in an album people will love. As for the term DJ, since we have assholes dictating what they think it is, let state what it is, pick a song, put it on a list, put it to play next and fucking enjoy the music. .So room builders lets make a room, party organizers gathers the DJs, DJs make a fun party an event all remember. XxDesireexX
Just to explain something : We love all Music and do our best to ententain our audience. Each DJ here put a lot of time to get the right set from his favorites. The Poll should only help to get the right setup of DJ´s . And also Subgenres i know are very important. By the way i like to spin electronic Music and i also hate hardstyle. Much People doesn´t know how much subgenres are a Genre have. They only say the Music is good or ............ The Poll was only important for me in which direction i should set the DJ´s on an Event. And thanks all for the helpful comments Rob. and NitroCowboy

Rob.
Either way Desiree, you make these amazing parties into memorable events. Great music lots of fun, awesome rooms. Me personally I prefer to mix genres at parties, even when I play. Had a critic once complain that his DJ friend told him all DJs are supposed to stick to one genres, no fucking fun if you ask me. I like playing the Beastie Boys and SlipKnot, throw some DMX and the Warp Brothers, and I admit I throw a stinker by weird Al or Gwar, just to do something other parties lack, fun with the unexpected.
