Kind request to get back my old Name

So, would the player who has 'acquired' my previous avi names and is passing him/herself off to be me in 3dx, socialising with my friends and God only knows what else, kindly stop the f*ck what they are doing and release the avis?

 

Cos frankly, I don't find it f*cking funny.

Sorry but when you delete your Avatar then you must life with the risk that another Member use this Name.
You are not the first who has happened this with deleted Avatar Names

 

It isn't the mistake of this Member who have now your old name.

Maybe you should consider reporting the person in question. Would be my guess that they violate or border at violating the highlighted ones, if they're not just using the name but attempting to impersonate you as user.

If you delete your Avatar so will your friendliest also deleted, it means your name disappears in the friendliest of your friends

If another Member use this Name as his own he will start with a complete new Avatar with empty friendliest, gifts etc.

This person is being seen out in public, and telling people it is HER.

Not telling them, "Yes, I am NOT the originally person/avi"

They are trying to impersonate HER!

I can see Achillies point. If you leave or delete your avi then anyone can use it.

 

Some people are going to use it to pretend to be someone else, which is unfortunate but it is how it is.

 

You can report it, but I doubt it will get very far.

I do believe the said person has actually acquired BOTH of my avis. The sheer coincidence of both being used by someone else, when one wasn't exactly a common spelling and the other wasn't eeven a proper name, was kinda suspicious.

 

Like I said, I'm 99% sure who has done it and it's just more mindfuck games like I was subjected to last year. Public shaming isn't my style (unless it's done in the nude).

I do agree that once you delete your avatar, you set yourself up for this risk. Now it doesn't make it ok for someone to impersonate you.

Harassment takes many forms, and Is not Necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassment can lead to more severe action.

The idea behind this is to prevent any player from consistently being uncomfortable on the forums.

 

What are you going through falls into the bold part. And when we had it added, it was to help prevent these things, not only in forum, but also in game channels.

 

 

Now that being said, having this topic will not help you. If anything, you are proving to this person that they managed to get a raise outta you.

 

From my point of view, I see only two options, and they have been made by others before me :

 

1/ You don't care and let that person have their fun. Your friends know it's not you and it's the only thing that matters. The less you care, the less power they have.

 

2/ You get proof, from your friends, of this person impersonating you, but that might be hard to get. Especially, with this topic up, they'd be more careful. And then report it, you contact support, and ask your friends to report as well from the game. It's a long shot, might fail with lack of proof but worth a try, if you are willing to go through the process and be patient.

This kind of thing has happened before.

One person I knew that was very popular in 3DX had it happen so often, someone impersonating her, that she ended up leaving the game because of it.

She hadn't deleted but the same harassment really applies.

It is easy for others to say not to let it worry you, but of coarse you are going to worry about what they get up to while representing themselves as you.

Try getting someone who has witnessed it to back you up in a report, hopefully something will come from that.

If not let as many as your friends know that it is not you, the more they are seen and it"s pointed out that it is not you the less likely they will continue.

You actually have it better than the friend I spoke of, as she was still in the game with her name, they just made another with a very similar name.

About the only thing I can say that may help you feel a little better, is at least you can take some satisfaction in knowing it cost them 20k to make the 2 avis.
