My first two weeks in 3DXChat:

I was on a similar site before, on and off, which however has deteriorated over the years, so that, when I felt the desire to dive back into the world of erotic multi user games, I decided to check out alternatives and my choice fell on 3DXChat.

I found it easy to navigate and started 'getting into' it quicker than expected, explorin the rooms rather than the public areas.

Quite early on I felt the desire to host a room myself, something I had never done before in the other sim. The theme of the room was 'CFNM Clothed Females pleased by Nude Males'. Certainly, it's a niche fantasy, but one that I wanted to explore. The idea was to create a space that is fun and shifts the focus away from male dominated behavior where guys initiate most conversations and actions to one where women have the dominant role, but not in a bdsm sense. I thought this would attact guys who put in some effort and girls who are liberated enough to ask for what they desired. And indeed, with the help of a female player I got two very nice parties going. But most of the time the room was empty, the concept proving to be too off mainstream despite the encouragement I received from a number of both female and male players. I may take the theme up again in the future - or would be happy to see someone else using it.

I then worked on a second project, setting up a school classroom for, let's call it 'sex education'. While, as the teacher, I'm interacting with the students, it's not a full role play. I don't expect 'students' to change into a character that is different from how they present themselves in the rest of the chat. Yet, some of the players take on a character, which also seems to work. The class is outrageous not in the sense that students misbehave and the teacher struggles to maintain control (I was in a different room that followed this concept). Instead, the class is outrageous in openly promoting sex positive behaviour, teaching how to engage in foreplay, oral sex, even group sex. Of course, I ask my students to demonstrate all these things. So far, I rarely had problems to find volunteers. I try to sneak in some actual advice without becoming too boring. And I repeat to encourage guys to talk respectfully to the girls and girls to initiate conversations with guys. So, in a way the goal is the same as in the CFNM room - having fun and communicating openly.

I also re-purposed my CFNM room into a hangout for students after class. This has clearly not taken off, but I keep going for a little longer. The idea behind it is that the classes are a conversation starter.

It is also fun being recognized as 'the teacher' when I visit other rooms now. So I keep wearing my old fashioned suit with the mis-matched shoes.
So, I'm still quite new as a host and sure am making mistakes. But the number of players and their engagement in my room are showing that there is an interest. It will certainly keep evolving, not sure into which direction at this stage. But that's part of its attraction.

Honestly, I had dropped by using a different character and found the room to be boring, since the persona of my character was a less talk, more shag kind of personality. That's when I saw it again using my main character. I found the topics engaging and the atmosphere in the room was nostalgic of typical classroom atmosphere. I think that's what appealed to me, so I decided to stick around.

 

Maybe a good idea is what was already mentioned by another user and that is to put times where the room is usually open. That's not to say make a strict schedule, but just put times where it's likely to find you online and the room open. That way, regular patrons or students can expect to find it when they log on.

 

The exhibitionism is not a fairly new theme for a room as I had participated in a similar venue called "Theatre of Sex." I don't believe the room is still open. But there is usually people performing and people watching. Yours is the same idea, just with a lesson attached.

A few days ago I saw that someone else had a sex education room - so someone else had had a similar idea before me (not really surprising). We agreed not to run both classes at the same time.

In my classes, participation seems to vary widely. While I'm trying to engage people, there are limits to what I can do and in the end the 'success' of a class widely depends on my 'students'. The language barrier also seems to play a part, especially at certain times of day when the US players are asleep.

The 'After Class Cavern' has started to pick up. Some 'students' actually pop in after class for some socializing. And, yeah, you know...

I can't  commit to any particular times to run the classes - and, to be honest, I have to be in the mood to run them.

In my personal opinion I'd like to share is that you as the teacher....instead of having so many bed and all, all at once, lower it down to one for demonstrations. Something that i notice in "EVERY SEX ED CLASS" is NO ONE is telling the student the steps of what to do or how to get started. You Mel, the teacher, you should be up there explaining what they're doing, but what i see instead was you actuallly just sitting and watching as well. That's not gonna actually benefit someone from their learning. You have to actually step up your game of being a better teacher otherwise your student may become total sex maniacs who doesn't follow what their told.

Why don't you make it into a study group instead you know like a mix of a class room and hangout like a coffee bar, you know with couches and a study area and such where there light chat and education to make a more relaxed atmosphere. Will always be hard to engage people in unfamiliar territory i noticed while i was actually active in world here, many find they actually like to erotic roleplay or just roleplay in general, once they start to so get the feel for it. But most i meet that end loving doing erotic roleplays for instance often really worried about coming off to noobish or making a fool of themselves at first.

 

Making something where you can really ease into it without feeling sort of like excluded or by standers often help that a lot. Have not seen you're room personally so i can't say how you go about it now. Have seen someone at one point doing like a sex theater which me and my partner at times felt was boring, mostly because i came of like a voyeurism thing that didn't really include audience in any way or had any story to it. So felt like it was no different from just visiting a sex only no chat room and just watch things there, which i felt personally was a shame as i thought it had potential.

 

You know like making a improvised sex theater play where audience had a chance you join in for instance, or audience had a choice choosing the direction the play.

Think something like one bed for something that play out in lines or interaction with guests or as a erotic roleplay is often a good way to go about things, only big problem is you have to be a tough nail in room and try to kick out individuals at times that sort of don't respect what rooms trying to accomplish, holding up the future needed to be used often sometimes same problem when you do Truth or Dare.

 

Some sort of room kick that didn't involve ignores would been great, but guess you could always make a schedule start time wait couple minutes till interested show and move into group access only room i guess to circumvent that problem.

4 weeks in

I have held a number of classes now - some successfully, some not. Since I have to be in the mood for it and don't always have enough time, I can't plan ahead and give a start time. While I seem to have a few fans who love my classes, participation overall has been disappointing - students don't even reply in local chat to show hand by typing 'h' when asked a very basic question. And people leave very quickly when they aren't entertained.

I don't think organizing a group for a room is the answer, it would be too time consuming to get people together.

Kinda been a big factoring in my absence inside despite i still have running subscription till i think 17/11 or so but rarely feel like coming back, most my friends are gone and feel like i rarely see any roleplayers anymore. Most popular user rooms around are like you said cold invite sex fest, which i find to be extremely dull. I mean if meaning of coming here to watch others avatars but not really have any interaction with them, what is the point really, then you one might as well play single player type sex games or watch porn right?

 

But then again feel hard to despite many virtual sex products around to really find a lot of ERP anywhere, at least with those people being consistently around and not being gone again after a short while.

Today is my last day in 3dxchat.

I tried it out for a month, had a lot of fun initially, but then it all dried up. The most popular rooms are the ones that discourage chatting with others and encourage cold invites, which, in my experience have without exception been the most boring encounters. If I just want to watch avis having sex I don't need a multi player platform. I hardly found any role playing rooms and it was too difficult to find partners who are into descriptive sex.

A particularly disappointing aspect was someone who was lots of fun, but at one point started uttering some unbelievable pro-nazi bullshit which ended the friendship.

Other friends that I connected well with also showed up less and less frequently.

So, it's a good bye from me. Maybe someone picks up my ideas of a CFNM room and an exhibitionistic class room.
