UPDATE :

Here are some updates to House Rules. These updates override the previous rules, where it applies:

1) opening hours and General House definition : same as original

2) Slaves registration process : at least half hour before show room opening House Director will be at Sin Club to be contacted by unowned slaves willing to be auctioned or Owners willng to sell their slaves. Both of them will be required to indicate if they are going to go into Temporary or Definitive sale (Temporary = Rent for 24 HRs / Definitive = until the new owner will sell the slave). in case of Temporary sale the transaction will be deleted after 24 Hours. All slaves will be requested to update their profile with some info Huse Director will give before Show Room opening.

3) Customer registration process : same as original

4) Sale and Auction : The slaves will be auctioned with the following order : Temporary, Definitive. Temporary slaves will be sold (rented) for 24 Hours and after this time the transaction and the ownership will be deleted from the House Log. No refund in case of Temporary slave escape. Definitive slaves, after being auctioned and sold at a winning bidder, will be registered as sold and the transaction will be kept for future reference. Both Owners and slaves will be requested to come to the house twice a month to show proof nobody disappeared/escaped. failing to do this will cause transaction and property certificate expiration.

The room furniture has been kept very simple on purpose. Be polite and don't complain about how the room (Show Room and Auction House) have been set up. All this is about slave trading, not about house design. Anyhow, any comment and suggestion for improvement will be welcome

END UPDATE

After some time spent to figure out how things go, i finally decided to get into some serious business. I have long experience into slaves trading and i'm going to put my experience at work. People that are into slaves already know how challenging this kind of market is but, at the same time, it can give a lot when a Customer comes back telling “you know what? I want another slave like the last one you sold me”.

Ok, no more words and let's get into the real business.

The Slave Market and Auction House is open! Anyone can come to buy and sell slaves.

I am a very open minded and long sighted entrepeneur and for this reason i am putting some rules for my Auction House :

  1. the House

  • The House is divided in two rooms : the Show Room and the Auction Room

  • The Show Room will open every thursday at 09:00 PM GMT and will be open until 09:59 PM GMT. The slaves that will be on auction at a latter time will be shown to the public to allow Customers to have a better look and evaluation. Any contact, private messages, orders, partner requests, friend request with/to slaves on display is forbidden. Every slave will have a full description in his/her profile though.

  • The Auction Room will open every thursday at 10:00 PM GMT and will be open until 11:59 PM GMT. All the slaves will be put on auction one after one and they will be sold at the best bid. The House Director will direct the auction and manage the bids.

  1. Events and Contests

  • The House will organize Events as Parties and/or Contests as “Best Trader”, “Highest price slave” etc...

  1. Slaves

  • An unowned slave needing to be taken by an owner will come to the House and will go to talk to the House Director. He will determine the base price for auction and will instruct the slave about the procedure. The amount that will be paid for the slave will be taken by the House.

  • An owned slave could be sold by the owner only. When the slave will be sold the owner will receive the amount of the winning bid (see Customers paragraph for details)

  • As soon a slave will be sold the House Director will handle the slave to the new owner that will be allowed to leave with His/Her new slave.

  1. Customers

  • Anyone can come at the Slave Market as a Customer.

  • Before starting any activity the newcomers MUST go to the House Director and talk to Him to register and receive details. Failing to do so will keep the new Customer out of the Auction.

  • Every customer will receive 1000 Hirams (Hiram is the House Currency) from the House Director. The amount will be credited used to place bids.

  • Every registered Customer will be recorded in the House Log and, when He/She will place a successful bid buying a slave, the event will be recorded on the log and the Customer account will be updated. Examples :

    • Customer XYZ comes to the house and goes to talk to House Director to register. As soon He/She will be registered His/Her name will be inserted in the House Log and 1000 Hirams will be credited on His/Her account. When the Customer will place a successful bid and will buy a slave, the amount spent (e.g. 250 Hirams) will be subtracted from the His/Her account and the new balance will be 750 Hirams. The next auction (even weeks after) the Customer will have that balance amount (750 Hirams) to spend because all the amounts will be tracked.

    • Already registered Customer ABC comes to the house to sell a slave He/She already owns. The House Director will place the slave in the Show Room and then will place the slave on auction. The auction starting price will be agreed between the Customer and the House Director. As soon the slave is sold the Customer receives the amount of sale on His/Her account minus a 5% commission for the House. So, just to give an example : if the slave is sold for 300 Hirams the Customer will receive 285 Hirams on His/Her account (300 – 15[3%]) and, if His/Her account balance is 800 Hirams, the new account balance will be 1085 Hirams.

  • The House will keep track of every transaction and will emit Certificates of Property, if requested.

  • A Customer will not be allowed to sell a slave that is already registered on the House Log under another owner's name.

Wow!

This is one of my naughtiest fantasies!!!!!!

I would love to be one the slaves you sell, my only problem is that I can't play late night because of my parents.

I am sorry.

You might consider an earlier auction? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease.

sure. this is just a starting point and, depending on how things will go, the House could set some different working hours to cover different timezones.

The idea sounds great, and I'd love to be auctioned off this thursday. The only real problem seems that all bidders run out of money after a while. The only way to earn money seems to be by auctioning your slave off but auctioning your slave and winning one at the auction won't make you go even either. Great idea, nonetheless. Looking forward to the next auction.

you made a good point.

auctioners will run out of money if they will not be good at keeping their property. if an auctioner is good, he/she will start buying a slave, keeping the slave and then selling the slave after a while, maybe at a higher price because the slave improved skills by training. this is market

for this reason auctioners will be "forced" by market itself to implement a behaviour. both owners and slaves will know that if they want to stay "in the market" they will need to implement a wise strategy in money management and relationships.

an auctioner that will buy a slave and then will trhow it away with no regard will be out of market in a couple of weeks for sure, an auctioner that will buy a slave and then will implement a correct strategy (maintaning a contact with the slave, agreeing for a resale, establishing alliances with other owners etc...) will be winning on the market.

i think some people are going to understand the "hidden design" behind this room... there is more that just a D/s roleplay here. this could be a complex market simulation.

I dont want to smartass, its a great idea but i see some problems with the currency. lets say people doesnt care much about keeping their Hirams after the first auction and just use them all in the first evening.

first off since all have the same amount even bids are very much a problem and then what? tic tac toe? fight of life and death? the next thing: also very likely the slave wont be at his/her owner any more within the next auction to get sold because either no time or simply not interested, so the buyer cant participate in the next evening? i hope you can follow :o

I love the idea a lot, as this hits on so many of my Kinks as well, but with out a way to  track players Currency your going to run into problems . Kushiel points it out in his post as well, but I am going to give you some thoughts maybe to help or at least begin to brainstorm a way to make this happen, because OMG I would sooooo be there ..(SLAVE 4 LIFE)

I would suggest that you start with some thing a bit different, try to bring the community together with owners and slaves that are already established . Perhaps letting the owners rent out their property for a night in exchange for XXXX amount of Hiram's. The price should be set by the owner and bartered until both sides agree. They can send the house a PM showing the transaction so the house can track all transactions.

You will also need to come up with a way for people to earn Hirams weekly, otherwise your market is never going to grow much. I would suggest something simple like every week , all people earn say 750 hiram , those that have slaves can  take their slaves hiram's as well ( its good to be the master/mistress).

Hold a weekly or bi weekly event and let things build up slowly with maybe an auction at the end of each month ?

yes, it is likely to happen that it will be a big mess at first.

auctioners all starting with the same amount is not a big issue. slaves will make the difference and every auctioner will try to invest more in the most interesting slave.

slaves that will not be at their owners could be an serious issue but it can be fixed at a later time. ok let me give a sort of schema :

1) auctioner spending money on a slave and the throwing the slave away .> auctioner will lose money and will go off market soon, slave locked in "owned" state can not be sold (not his/her fault)

2) slave leaving and disappearing after being sold -> auctioner will lose money with no fault, slave locked in "owned" state can not be sold.

in both cases we have the same outcome losing money and slaves locked and not able to be sold. it will be House Director responsibility to detect and understand this kind of situations and provide refunds or unlocking slaves

the turning point is that accounts and transactions are tracked. this is a big turning point because this is introducing a behavioral continuity in avatars. something an avatar is doing tomorrow (buying, selling, exchanging...) will be tracked into the Log and Account and will be reflected on future actions.

slave market is not for avatars that appear and disappear in one night. natural slection.

im not sure what you mean. as said its likely to happen that people use simply their whole money on someone they hope for. Severeal people doing that, all have the same amount of Hirams, what is the solution?

also you dont seem to be aware that alot of people wont care if their avas are logged in your system, this will be a dom-only problem rather and i doubt youre interested in single-case solutions each time at the start of the auction. you need a system where you dont have to worry about slaves are not interested in more than one times of trying this out because that will be the case often probably. trusting on a "market" system is hopeless aslong people are not really forced to getting sold. its a rp-fantasy and nothing more. i see the highest chances for this working out with using gifts as currency actually. its also the easiest for you. let the buyers pay the house or the former owner of the slaves in gifts and you have a really betting system.

one gift of money = 250 hirams or something like that

this is an interesting suggestion. worthy of being developed.

using gifts as currency could be a smart solution. maybe setting an exchange rate. need to think and develop this idea.

anyhow it will not be just a "dom problem". yes, doms will be losing money (Hirams) on slaves that will not stay and will disappear. but slaves behaving like this will be out of market too. as i said all transactions will be tracked and for this reason, once a slave is tracked as a property, it can be sold by the owner only. this means that a slave leaving his/her owner just disappearing could not come to the house the next week to "replay the trick" because the House itself will refuse to put the slave on sale because that slave just can not be sold, he/she is officially owned and only the owner can sell the slave. the only way to "repeat the trick" will be creating a brand new avatar (with all its cost). for this reason this is not a "doms problem" only.

the whole thing is a great idea and I am sure after some trial and error it will run smooth. I have been to auctions in another game and it was fun to be apart of it. the big difference is that there it was an active currency that was transferred between buyer and seller via the auction house.

I am afraid that until we have a negotiable currency it won't be taken serious.

Kushiel made a good point that with all bidders having the same amount to begin with, who will actually be the real auction winner?

I do like the gift idea of purchasing more hirams. let's put the gold to use and let people build an amount to use in the auction.

I will come and watch for sure.

This is why I suggest you start out small, and slowly build your community up. Your going to run into people that are here to try it and then drop it or do not go with the role play over all.

If you start out small and slowly build up , you will ensure that the overall experience is more enjoyable as like minded Rpers will continue to come back. over a little time you will get to know the more dependable owners and slaves.

My thoughts really.

This is not a bad idea but perhaps people can earn Hiram's through RP . Maybe the house has jobs that need to be completed or contracts that need to be full filled ? Owners can then rent or lease out their slaves to complete said task , and the owner receives payment for it ?

Jobs can be anything really to get things going from escort services to slave training ..to dealing with unruly slaves or even hosting a party or class on different techniques  ?

It's a good idea. Especially if every person who register in the system earns free 100 hirams and later can buy more hirams with gifts. It easily makes differents between those who can, want, "rich" and actually taking care about their money and those who just want to spend whole 1000 hirams just to have a slave and never come back to the auction.

As to those who disappears (both slaves and masters). There is an easy way for slaves - they just come to you and explain the situation. After it you mark him/her as a free slave and can sell again. If we're talking about masters then we should remember that nobody want to be cheated and lose their in-game money (3dxcoins) after buying a slave that later disappear. I propose this scheme: if the slave disappears and the master spend more than 1000 hirams (that means he paid with 3dxcoins) then he comes back to the market and explains the situation. After it the market returns him his hirams that lets him not to lose his 3dxcoins because of some asshole who doesn't play his role. But here you'll have to write down every transaction that makes a long list....

This is why I suggest you start out small, and slowly build your community up. Your going to run into people that are here to try it and then drop it or do not go with the role play over all.

Jobs is a great idea. Not every slave is a obedient one. Some of them will need to be trained. So here the house needs slave trainers who will be paid for their job (For example 40% from the value that buyer has paid on the auction). Also the master can come back later and ask to train his slave better that also takes some hirams. Anyway it lets the organization to grow. Also here can be added some contracts as hunting for escaped slave, searching for news slaves (some day you probably won't open the auction just because of absence of slaves)

Ok this touches on some rp I did in FFXIV , now. Hunting down other people. It would be a little harder here to do this, but the idea of being hunted IC is exciting .

What we did there was that those of us that were being hunted turned in a description of what we looked like and wore to the Game Masters. (GM) . They would take that information and then give out bits of it to all the hunting parties.  If a hunting party felt they had their prey they sent the GM a description and the players name. The GM would check tell the prey in a PM they have been spotted and then tell the hunting party leader. From there it went to a PVP Dice system ..but that I doubt will be done here.

again just my thoughts,

Kirann
